I had an 05 Ultra and really liked it especially in town. The RSV is a much better bike on the open road in my opinion. I'm glad I'm back on a RSV and it isn't near as expensive as the Harley!!!

Seats for 2000 MM Venture
Godlover replied to Godlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Help me out here? I was thinking $100 for the stock set and $150 for the corbin - is that out of line. I'd like to know before I put them in the classified section. -
I have two tan seats for my 2000 MM Venture. One is stock set and the other is a corbin seat without a backrest. The Stock is in excellent condition with 13,000 miles and the corbin is in good to fair condition - not sure of miles. I have the opportunity to buy a corbin seat and backrest that are like new. So, what would be a fair price to ask for these seats? Thanks!

One reason I went back to a 2nd Generation Venture after selling my first one - trying a VTX 1800 - then a Ultra Classic - was this forum. You are a great group of people who have blessed my life with your insights, humor, help, and friendship. I, too, am thankful for all of you. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

My little sister and her family stopped by our place on their trip from Sterling, Kansas to Chicago, Il and spent then night. This morning the temp was about 40 with light drizzle and her two oldest children - a senior and freshman in high school both said, "Uncle Mark, will you give us a ride on your motorcycle?" Being the good uncle I am - I got the bike out and took them for a ride. Their dad said, "This certainly will be the highlight of their trip." It was worth it to see the smile on their faces. Now I need to plan a trip to Kansas this summer when I can take them on a good long ride!!

I haven't changed mine yet but will someday. I wasn't a big fan of louder pipes until I bought an Ultra Classic with pipes. The louder pipes are somewhat of a safety issue - people hear you and know you are there. That will be the main reason I go to louder pipes.

I think you need to ride it longer because corbin seats seem to take awhile to get broke in. I love mine!!

I have enjoyed this discussion and appreciate everyone's thoughts. The one thing I have enjoyed about Venturerider is that it is a pretty clean site. It is hard to define PG. My wife and I are both pastors and we slightly disagree on this subject. She actually has a tendency to say a few words I won't use! I am thankful to the moderators who do their best to monitor what is posted. Each Sunday I start my sermon with a joke so I have visited the joke forum often. I would venture that 80 to 90% of the jokes I could not use in church. That says something about the content. I'm no prude but can't we find some new jokes I can use on a Sunday morning? Perhaps what offends me most are many jokes that have to do with unfaithfulness. In my work I see the hurt and damage done when one mate cheats on another and it effects the whole family. However, I don't expect everyone here to have the same values I hold dear. Again - we all need to thank our moderators for what they do. That's my two cents worth.

Congrats - you will love the bike!

Sounds good to me - don't pick a Sunday morning as I'm always busy - Some people think I only work one hour a week!

I wasn't me - I was the guy on the 2000 white Venture riding around Red Rock and in Pella! Did you see me?

I just picked up a Tan corbin seat off Ebay for my Venture - pd $100 - hasn't arrived yet.

Thanks - I need to haul it from Shreveport, La to Newton, Ia so the trailer should work. Weather here in Iowa is horrible - cold, rain and snow! I got a 2000 Millennium Venture with 13,000 miles. I was happy to find it as I had a 2000 Millennium and sold it 5 years ago and wanted to get back into what I had!

Since it continues to snow in Iowa I plan to rent a u-haul to go get the Venture I purchased. I can rent a 5X9 open trailer for $100. Can anyone tell me if the trailer is long enough? Thanks

The VTX 1800 was a horse - the Ultra rode nice but some guy wanted it more than I did - but getting into a Venture for 6 grand - and it is a great ride - you just can't beat it!

Five years ago I sold my 2000 Millennium Venture - went to a VTX 1800 and then to an Ultra Classic. Last week I found another Millennium Venture and it only had 13,000 miles. I got it for 6 grand! I'm going to pick it up in Louisiana on our way home from Texas in two weeks. I had planned to ride it home but it is snowing today in Iowa so to be safe I will get a trailer. It is good to be back!
