  1. I just sent them an email today as it has been a month since I ordered mine. No word - nada! I paid with Paypal.
  2. Yeah - I thought the same thing!
  3. I just caught a quick look and it looked like they were pulling a small cycle trailer behind the pickup....he should have been riding as it was a beautiful day!!
  4. I spotted a 2nd Generation in the back of a pickup on I80 in Des Moines yesterday - headed West. I wonder if it was one of our members? There has also been a 2nd Generation running around Colfax - Newton - Baxter area with a smaller bike following - perhaps a child with a permit - any of these people members here?
  5. Diamondr has them. About 90 bucks but well worth it. DiamondR is one of our vendors.
  6. Yes we are still on for the Maintenance day. It will be July 24th. Hopefully I'll have the 83 up and running well by then!!
  7. I just paid a guy $400 for his 83 Royale with 59,000 miles on it. He wanted $500 - offered him $400 and he jumped on it! I was going to offer less but we jumped it and it started right up. He said the clutch needed bled but wasn't sure. The seat has duct tape - rust on some of the chrome - could use a paint job (son does body work) - but has newer tires and seems to run good. He said 2nd gear just started to act up. Anyway - I figure for the money - it is good entertainment!
  8. Yes - it will raise you a bit. I noticed it right away. I have short legs for a 6'4" person at 32 inch inseam - and I do fine.
  9. How hard that must be. He and you are in our prayers. Thank God for those who serve our country.
  10. I installed leveling links on my RSV today and immediately felt like I was riding a new bike. I can't believe how much easier it is to handle. Two things: I felt more air as I was sitting up higher and looking over the windshield - and I used my Carbon One adapter and couldn't take the bolt out so I had to lower the bike and just use the jack. If you haven't installed the links you are missing a great ride!
  11. I left the decision up to my wife. When a friend's daughter was killed on her cycle - my wife decided to quit riding. I miss the time because with the intercom - we visited more than if we were sitting at home. However, I'm glad - because I was always concerned about her safety on the back of my bike. I guess I'd leave the call up to her.
  12. Caddy's are nice but a bit pricey to fix. But her price is pretty good and if it is in excellent shape- they make for a nice ride. They certainly have their problems but if it is what you want - if I were you - I'd take the chance. I had a 96 and liked it.
  13. I want to wish every one a Good Friday. For many of us this is a day of mixed emotions as we sort through the tremendous suffering of our Lord and the great blessing of forgiveness found at the cross. "For God so love the world, He gave his one and only Son - that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life."
  14. It is on my calendar but who knows what May 1 will bring. Let's see - May baskets - clutch basket - hmmmm - maybe I'll get a new May basket clutch!
  15. Cougar plans to bring his, right Jeff? Bryan, we need to get together before then - you are not that far from me!
  16. I think I'll get into the Camera business!!
  17. I must admit - I'm addicted to Craigslist!! I check it several times a day and have found some pretty good deals. If you find a really good deal - you need to act fast! Last week I almost got a 2001 BMW Touring bike from a local for $4500 but I was the 3rd person who called and the first guy took it, of course. My best deal was my 2000 MM Venture with 13,000 miles for 6,000. My best deal ever in the local classifieds was an 86 Goldwing Aspencade for $400 and I rewired the stator and sold it for $3,000.
  18. Troy is making me a set for my MM. Can't wait! Took a while to get the tan leather though. He's supposed to be getting them done this week.
  19. Eagle One has Nano Wax - and I use it after every ride unless the bike is really dirty. Good product but use the micro fibre cloth.
  20. We were rooting for Northern Iowa - but now that they have bowed out - I'll go for the Vols - Bruce Pearl has IOWA connections!!
  21. There is a ton of info out there on the heat pump. Right now the Fed is offering a 30% tax credit and most utilities are offering a rebate program. It makes it attractive especially if you will need to replace your existing unit soon or you are building new. Actually, if you are building new and include it in the cost of the house - it is reasonable and silly not to. Utilities keep climbing and this just makes sense. We have an all electric house in Iowa but our bill hasn't been too bad. January was our highest ever at $450 with a 3,000 sq. foot home. If I had geo I would use the cooling more instead of suffering with the heat cause I'm too tight to pay the air conditioning bill! Also, they claim that Geothermo does a great job with getting rid of the humidity. Not sure how - but that's what I read. I have a guy in my church who is on his second system and has kept a daily reading of his electric meters. He has two meters - one for the geo system and the other for the rest. He swears by them!
  22. In my thoughts and prayers!
