  1. George - I think they are more popular in Iowa than Texas!!!
  2. For years I've been interested in Geothermal units. We bit the bullet and are in the process of having it installed. Last week they drilled three 175 foot wells. This week they bored into our basement with the main line and hooked the three wells together. Next week the Geo unit goes in. It has been fun to watch each step. The best news is we get a 30 percent tax credit and to a 20 percent rebate from our utility company! We are saving 1/2. People ask what our payback will be - well, our old system needed to be upgraded so for almost the cost of a conventional heat system we have Geothermal.
  3. I'm not going but I'm excited about the news that our Iowa Speedway landed a second Nationwide Race for next year! Iowa Speedway is an up and coming track!! The highest attended Nationwide Race the past two years have been at our Iowa. Someday we will get a cup race!!!
  4. Jerry - I have them ordered - along with the Trike wings - I should be set!
  5. I'm pleased someone is taking good care of my MM so I can buy it back when you want to sell it!
  6. Thanks George - I'll look at getting some.
  7. Sweet!! I don't know about the people in your church but my people razz me about my trike but deep down they are happy I have it!
  8. I put Baker wings on - what are trike wings?
  9. Randy, Racing season is over! I missed the biggest race last weekend with the Nationwide race but I enjoyed my college reunion. I'm glad you are enjoying your MM - you got one heck of a deal and it was worth driving in all that rain to get it home!! I miss my MM - it was my favorite bike but the Trike is pretty sweet!
  10. I like the Baker Air wings - and I plan to get the ones for the mirrors soon. They are not hard to install - just take your time. I read on another forum that instead of drilling into your stock strips - a person can purchase chrome strips and save your painted ones. It took me about 1/2 hour to install them. Use a small punch to mark your drilling spots.
  11. It has been a month since I picked up my 02 Goldwing trike. I've ridden it 3,000 miles in that time and truly enjoy it. I'm waiting for a taller windshield to arrive which will help with the wind buffeting. This has been my biggest complaint. It has a stock windshield and I sit tall so this should remedy the problem. I also installed baker airwings and plan to get the wings for the mirrors. Sunday I rode 10 1/2 hours and was more tired from the wind as I rode interstate the whole way. It is so easy to ride and takes a ton of stress out of riding. I'm pleased with the purchase.
  12. George, I like it! It's yellow like my trike!! You are truly a gifted person!
  13. I've had my Gl1800 Trike for about a month. The more I ride it the more I enjoy it. The wing has more of a sports car feel. It responds well and can really scoot. The worst part is how I sit on the wing but with the proper foot pegs I get along quite well. You can also correct part of this with a different seat. As the Goldwing has a sports car feel the RSV seemed more like at muscle car. I certain do not regret getting the Trike. I'm having a blast!!
  14. People over on the Gl1800riders forum are saying that you can find the Walmart gelpad at Big Lots for 10 bucks so if you live close to Big Lots you might check it out. I bought one last week and rode 1,000 miles and it works great.
  15. Looks great George!!! Why don't you just come ride Eastern Tennessee with us this week?
  16. I'm ready to take my one last ride on my 2000 RSV MM bike. I sold it to Andy (aka: Alabamacameo on this site) and will meet up with him near Nashville on Monday. What can I say about the 2000 RSV MM? It is absolutely my favorite bike and this is my second MM bike. Such a sweet looking bike with a great ride. Sold it to Andy who will take great care of it and I will pick up my 2002 Goldwing Trike to ride back to Iowa. I will be spending a few days in the Cookeville area enjoying the roads. This site has been a Godsend. The wealth of information and advice on this site is tremendous. My membership fee is a small price to pay for the benefits of being here. I plan to stick around especially since Don added the Goldwing forum. Thanks to everyone here!
  17. Brian, Iowa seems to have had its share of motorcycle deaths this year. I expected it to rise this week with all the Goldwings running around. The good news is most Goldwingers wear a lot of protection especially helmets.
  18. Glad you like them. I liked them too! Couldn't believe the difference when I replaced them with the stock pipes. Now I have to get used to the sound of a Goldwing!!!
  19. Nice invite! I have a couple of friends in Scottsbluff. One of them has a business that sells used bikes - I think it is called Mike's Bikes? The other one pastors a church where they bought a lumberyard and converted it. Nice area around Scottsbluff!!!
  20. George, Are you going to keep the Wing? Plus - are you going to write superb manual like you did for the Motortrike? Just wondering!!!
  21. I'll be on here. I leave July 4th for Nashville to pick up my 02 Goldwing Trike. I'm riding my RSV to Nashville where the guy who bought my Venture will pick it up. He's from Alabama. Then I'll head back to Iowa on my new trike. I'm a bit nervous as I've never really ridden a trike before but I'll take my time home. Maybe I'll ride through Arkansas and Missouri just for the fun of it! Anyone coming to Wing Ding in Des Moines this week?
  22. Starts June 30th-----
  23. Wing Ding starts on July 1st in Des Moines. I know it is for Goldwings but with all the bikes and vendors someone from this forum might be interested in attending.
  24. Sold - and that was FAST!!
  25. I put an ad in the classified for a new set of Carbon 1 crash bar braces with chrome clamps for $45 shipped. I sold the bike and didn't get them sold.
