I guess I'm right smack in the middle of Iowa but you never know what I will be riding. M

You know I've had a lot of bikes but this one excites me like no other. I had an RT Spyder for 5 days and flipped it but this one is a joy to ride. Yes, you can easily smoke the tires.

The local dealer made me a sweet deal on a left over Spyder F-3 S so I brought it home today. Still have my 07 Tour Deluxe. I have it for sale but if it doesn't sell its no big deal!

The early Voyagers run as hot as the Harleys, in my opinion. I had a 2010 and then moved to a 2012 or 13 with the heat fix. It was a bit better but still runs pretty warm. You can pick up the early Voyagers cheap. It seemed to me that it felt heavier to lift than the Venture. Other than that they are great bikes.

I know someone who has a beautiful 09 Red and Black RSV with 17000 miles for sale!

Oh, do not buy a 2013. They had the most problems.

I am also looking at the Spyder and have done a ton of research. I actually purchased a 2011 Spyder Limited and sold it 5 days later for a nice profit. I want to go to a 2014 or newer. The Spyder was a riot to drive and fun. The 2011 had a ring job at 14000 miles. Repair work by a dealer is pricey. Oil changes can run close to $200. The rear tire wears out quickly and many owners go to a car tire claiming it handles better and they last a long time. You can buy an extra 3 year warranty that takes the warranty out to 5 years with a $50 deductible. Some will say the limited really isn't worth the extra money. You get a bit of chrome, GPS and Luggage. There are better deals on the 2015 models right now. You can get a new Limited for 24000 if you look. When my Venure sells I will be shopping for a good deal on a Spyder. Check out spyderlovers.com. Good luck.

This one has the paddle shifter.

I had the opportunity to get a deal on a 2011 Spyder. I've been looking at then for awhile and this one came up. Picking it up tomorrow. Original owner who babied it.

Got bike. Left saddle bag lid won't open
Godlover replied to Godlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Got it open. The rear latch was misaligned so once we got it back to the outside it opened. -
Last week I parted with my 08 Electraglide. I really liked the bike but was time to move on. I had already purchased a 2005 BMW K1200LT but didn't like the riding position so yesterday a guy down from Fargo and took it off my hands. Last Tuesday I went to Topeka, Ks and picked up a sweet 09 RSV and I just made a deal on an 2010 Roadstar that I need to go after in Missouri. For what I had in the Harley I will have two sweet Yamahas! 😀

Got bike. Left saddle bag lid won't open

Not getting very far - if I drill out the hinge - can I just get a replacement hinge for it? There's one on Ebay for like $35... -
Yes. Got it from a shop for trade in value. They just wanted their money out of it. I tried to get it back down but it is sprung someway. I'll call them tomorrow.

I said something about this in my post about getting my bike. When I picked it up this morning I didn't open the left saddlebag. Got home and I can't open it. The lid sits on cockeyed. I noticed in the pictures the dealer sent the lips was cockeyed then. Any help? The one picture is from the dealer and you can see that it was this way before I got the bike.

thanks. I'll keep it in mind

Well, rode it home and what a great ride. Discover it has an airhorn. When I picked it up I didn't open the left saddle bag and for some reason the lid is on crooked and the latch is jammed! Ugh! When I look at the picture they sent me u can tell something is wrong.

With warm weather we are headed to Topeka, Ks to get the 09 Venture I purchase. A friend who has family down there is taking me and then I'm riding back. It is 4 1/2 hours one way. I looking forward to getting it to Iowa. I'm selling my friend's 09 Vision and just took it for a spin thinking I might like it, Not! The thing rattles and I don't care for the sitting position. Anyway, Kansas here I come!

Oh my, time to install a back up camera. Not hard to do. You can even install a wireless unit!

I find most info off the internet. In fact, you tube is one of best sources. I needed to rebuild barbs on a Honda 300 and a guy posted a 5 part video series on doing it.

Cowpuc, Yes it is fuel injected and the bike screams! If you can't turn a wrench or have deep pockets then the Beemer is not your bike! To change the gas and air filter you have to pull the Tupperware and remove the gas tank! By 05 the brakes are more reliable and around 5% had the final drive issue. Every bike has some sort if issues that seem to get discussed often. Kind of like a clutch basket issue in another bike I know. They do get close to 50 mpg. I'd keep it in a heartbeat I'd it fit me better.

Yea. I'm just trying to get $6250 out of it. I don't know what the other guy was thinking. Ugh
