    I haven't been around the site much lately. Sold all the bikes and bought my 53 Mercury Monterey 2 Dr. Hardtop. I am quickly discovering that parts are hard to find and when I find them they are either pitted or very expensive. As a result I'm clearing out some of my motorcycle gear to raise funds for my new project! I take donations as well!! If you run them through the church I can make them tax deductible! Just kidding. I love the car and haven't missed the two wheels ------ yet!

    I am bikeless for now - but I have something to keep me busy! I went to look at a rusty old 50 Ford F1 and bought this instead! It was restored 10 years ago but is pretty much stock. The guy bought another one to street rod and took the interior and good chrome off this one. So, I'm looking for 53 Mercury parts! Runs great and is going to be fun!!!

    Oh - if you get Rider Magazine you can find the coupon. I get several different magazines and have yet to see this coupon any other Harbor Freight Ad.

    I also bought a different chock to use - one that locks. Not sure I will bolt it on as I plan to see how the one works that came with the lift.

    I sat in the Vette and couldn't see out!! This was way, way, way cheaper - at least for now!

    Now that the Tour Deluxe is gone - I picked up a new project. A guy had a an in the local shopper selling a 1950 F1 pickup for 500 but it was more of a project than I wanted to tackle. He had bought it to restore but found a better one and it was all done. So I asked him if I could see it and he opened his shed that had several cars he had redone. 64 Galaxy, 50 Ford F1, an old Lincoln, a Ford Street Rod, and two 53 Mercs. The first one was done 10 years ago and the other he had just finished. He used the interior and chrome from his first car to do the second. The he said he wanted to sell the other car that runs great and has all the parts and is solid - it just needs put together. Long story short - I bought the fixer upper at a great price! Now I have something to keep me busy!!! The first pictures are the car I bought and the last few pictures are of his car. If any of you want to come help me put it together - let me know!

    It is a nice bike - now that I sold my Tour Deluxe I may keep it around. I certainly won't have to give it away!!

    Some guy just came and bought my 06 Tour Deluxe! I wasn't really trying too hard to sell it but now it is gone. Not sure what I am going to do. I have my eye on a 53 Mercury!! Mark

    It seems to work - I just got it running today and it is the Lx model. 23,000 miles. I haven't changed fluids or anything and I need to get the carbs set better. I have a little backfire once in awhile mostly in 1st gear. The paint has dirt specks in it - I bought it this way. Not perfect but seems to be a nice bike.

    I got my Cavalcade running today and wow - what a ride! I'm impressed in the short distance I've gone. I sent the carbs in to have them rebuilt and then had a horrible time getting the airbox back on. A guy in my church who is rated one of the top mechanics in the nation came to my rescue! Now it is time to put her up for sale. I bought it to make a few bucks!

    I have an extra coupon that I can send you. I found them in the Rider magazine. This thing is a beast but I am looking forward to using it. I am tired of sitting on the floor!!!!

    I am tired of bending over working on bikes so I am going to use the coupon for the 299 Harbor Freight lift. The coupon says I can get three lifts so if anyone from Iowa wants one off my coupon let me know ASAP.

    I have sold several bikes with a for sale sign! Park it out front -put a sign on it. It is worth a try.

    There is a tan one for a 2000 on Ocala, Fl Craigslist for 150 Another on Cincinniti Craigslist with flames for 600. I loved the Corbin seat I had on my Venture. Goodluck

    I bought a set of Bub mufflers off craigslist and love the sound. The tips are flaking. Has anyone sanded down the chrome and painted the tips with a high temp paint? They might look nice with flat black paint. I know I can buy new tips.

    Was that today or yesterday? I rode over to Iowa City yesterday and had a beautiful ride. I didn't even mind the detour on highway 6. I wish I could do the ride this weekend but we have races.
