  1. Wade's pictures are not my bike. I will try to get the engine freed up. My question is, "What is the likely hood of this engine doing the same thing later?"
  2. If you followed previous posts I took plugs out and tried rocking it to turn engine over. The cover had stripped screw heads and try as I might my only option will probably be to drill them. I am soaking the cylinders now.
  3. If you have been following my previous post, I bought a non running 96 tour classic and have been trouble shooting the problem. It is now obvious the engine is stuck as I pulled the starter today and it spins freely. I pulled plugs and have the cylinders soaking. This was a running bike a month ago. My questions is, if it frees up enough to ruins it worth the risk of doing it again. There is a ton of carbon buildup around the spark plug holes. I bought it right and have located an engine with 11,000 miles for $1075 shipped. Do I just move on or take the plunge and get the engine ordered?
  4. Be safe. Our prayers are with you!
  5. Funny, going to try the coke thing. This isn't like a bike that has been sitting. It ran 30 days ago and that is the concern. I will fool around with it a bit more and then start to look for an engine. I got it at a price that I can replace the engine.
  6. Well, pulled plugs, tried to get it to turn over by pushing it amd popping clutch.....afraid the engine is stuck so going to try a few little things but doesn't look good. Two spark plug holes have carbon build up. Here is a picture of one.
  7. Gift sent via Paypal. Let me know if you receive it. God bless!
  8. Old Goat, we all are praying for you! Do you have a Pay Pal account or a mailing address? I would like to send you a little money to help in some way.
  9. Not yet, drained oil and it looked good. Will work on it when I return next week.
  10. Thanks to for the suggestions! I thought I heard you say you would give me two grand as is!
  11. What is that and how do you fix?
  12. I can't get the plate off, they stripped the head of the screw! New battery #2
  13. So sorry to read of your loss. May you feel the arms of Christ wrap around you and your family as you walk through this valley.
  14. Cleaned the cables. Pulled the plugs and found one was missing! I think the guy I got it from went through some of this same stuff and fried the solenoid trying to jump the wires. At least I have that taken care of. I tried to rock the bike to see if the engine turns but the tire slid on my slick garage floor. It was raining so I didn't go out to the driveway. I suspect starter or engine seized. Is there a post on the steps to remove the starter? I won't get back to it until next week Thanks
  15. I just replaced the solenoid and new the solenoid clicks which it didn't do before. I measured battery voltage and it is 11 volts. Not sure that's enough to start it so I put my charger on it. I tried to taking the side cover to see if the engine will turn over but a previous owner stripped out the Phillips screw.
  16. I am working on the non-running 96 Tour and some suggested it see if the engine will turn over by hand. How does one do this on a motorcycle? Thanks
  17. Though stuff. I spent a week in the hospital kast year with a blood infection from a simple biopsy. Praying for her and the rest of your family!
  18. I came back!
  19. You guys can go on tour as comedians! Of course I will sell anything for a good price.
  20. I was waiting for some wise guy to make a comment! The neighbor already stopped by and wanted to know if I would sell it when I get it running! Ha!
  21. I sold the green unibody yesterday for $1000. I kept the nicer one of the two. I bought both for $750. Sold the green one for $1,000 and got another $500 out of the 302 that was sitting in it. I'm Happy, Happy, Happy!
  22. I check the ignition switch and it seems good. I am not too great at figuring out electrical so I'm not sure about where to go next. I am thinking about just replacing the solenoid as they aren't that expensive. There are 2 30 amp fuses on the solenoid, do they both function or is one a spare? The one on the M sided is very loose and falls out. I sprayed the kickstand switch and the plunger works fine. Some one suggestion that I should try to turn the motor over by hand, how does one do that? I am not overly confident in trouble shooting....can you tell?
  23. Checked fuses. One of the 30 amp on the solenoid (the M side) is loose and almost falls out. Other than that the fuses check out. How does one check the kick stand switch?
