Stay away from the touch screens (other than the iphone). They break in about 4 months and once scratched, they are WORTHLESS! Ben

Questions for anyone who is a federal contractor
Gamecock replied to Bigfoot's topic in Watering Hole
I am a Federal Contractor, but not a 1099. I sent you a PM with some good info. Let me know if I can help any other way! Ben -
I have no imagination, so I stick with the historical/biography books... some of my favorite characters... Robert E. Lee Francis Marion George Mason Colin Powell William Westmoreland I've also read a few on the Mongols, Hell's Angels, and Pagans... Not to mention, "Going Rouge" by Sarah Palin was a good read Ben

2 more pounds this week, not what I wanted but I kinda lost motivation with all the snow I had to shovel. Up early this morning to hit the treadmill before school!! Jan 25 - 287 Jan 31 - 281 Feb 7 - 272 Feb 14 - 270 (somehow my numbers have gotten messed up between here and facebook, where my family is following this. I have lost 18 lbs total, and this only adds up to 17. Anyhow, I am at 270 now, nice round number than I am leaving it as such) Ben

Jr. could have used 1 more lap! I think he would have won it, he'd been sandbagging all day. Jr. needs a good year and this is a great way to start it! Ben

I want a band around my calf. Not sure on the design, but more than likely something tribal. I have an eagle on my back and would like it covered by a map of South Carolina with the Palmetto Tree and Cresent Moon. Ben

They did get the torch fixed, it took about 3 minutes to get it rolling right. I thought the graphics on the stand were awesome. The whales swimming was really cool. Great job CANADA!! Ben

Wayne, He loves it, everytime I come home he has to drag it out. I haven't shot it cause I don't need that kind of fever right now. He'd been looking at one for about a year and when the OT presented itself, he jumped all over it. From what he says, it is very accurate and shoots like a dream! Let me know if you get one, the inlaws come quite often, I'll have it bring it if you want to look at it. Ben

My father-in-law has a .44 that he got about a year ago. He must have wanted it bad cause he picked up the overtime to get it so he wouldn't have to take away from "family money". Now he's saving up for the .22. He likes the old stagecoach movies and that's what made him want one so bad. If you have any specific questions, I can ask him for you. His is gold plated though I am not sure which model. Ben

When I was in the Coast Guard the elliptical was my main workout. I would use it 1 hour a day and normally get around 7.2 miles in. While at sea, I would normally loose about 25 lbs in a month. I wanted one for home, but the boss lady wanted a treadmill, and guess who won? I should have stood up to her, I use it more than she does. Great workout, and awesome results if you use it everyday! Ben

yeah very nice, wish I had the spare change for it right now! Ben

Well, the weekley results are in.........9 lbs since last Sunday, pushing the total to 15 in 2 weeks. I feel bad because I snacked like a maniac Friday night snowed in at work. Hope to burn those calories off today while shoveling 2+ feet of snow! Jan 25 - 287 Jan 31 - 281 Feb 7 - 272 Ben

How to tell if the rear shock it going bad?
Gamecock replied to Gamecock's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I spoke with Works Performance earlier in the week, and they offer a rebuild. The shock coast $689 and the rebuild if it fails for $150. They build the shock based on your weight, 2 up, trailer pulling and what not. Ben -
I'm at work in Arlington, VA right now and it ain't pretty outside. This is miserable. I'll probably have 12-15 inches of snow built up at the house before I get home tomorrow around noon. I normally work 8 hours, but they have bumped us to 12 and possibly 16 if people can't get in. UGLY YGLY UGLY Ben:snow:

Thanks for all the replies guys! One more question......What's the normal (roundabout, if there is one) milage for these things going out? I'm only at 9100 on my 04. Thanks again! (guess I owe a few for asking so many questions) Ben -

From some browsing on here, it seems these guys in New Jersey can hook you up, and if you give them the old one a replacement will only be $350. http://www.epmperf.com/ Ben -
How to tell if the rear shock it going bad?
Gamecock replied to Gamecock's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I don't like spending money, but if I am gonna have a toy, it's gonna work the way it's supposed to. IF I ever have to replace it, then I am going to go aftermarket and forget about the Yamaha shock. Read a few post and got some suggestions from there. Anymore out there? Are there ANY success stories out there where the stock shock actually didn't fail? Ben -

Thanks! I bought mine in September and have not noticed any oil leak since then. Now, could all of the oil have leaked out before I bought it? Sure. I guess I need to have it checked to calm my nerves. I am a worry wart when it comes to things like this, I HAVE to know everything is all right. I don't like to second guess anything. Gonna double check the air pressure this weekend as I bumped it to 20 the last time I rode. I want to make sure it's still at 20 after 2 weeks of sitting. Thanks again. Ben (I'm sure Stud_Muffin will respond and help out his YOUNG neighbor to the North) -
I don't think I have a problem, but if I start to I want to know it. The Yamaha dealer told me that "if it holds air, it's fine". Is that completly true? I am gonna crawl undernear and look for oil before the riding season and keep a close eye on it. I would honestly rather pay to have a new one than have a problem on a trip....which brings me to.... If the rear shock went out, other than riding like crap, can you still ride it? (I would have it replaced, but would rather have it done local than having to go back and get it. Thanks (hope this isn't too much of a repeat question) Ben

I served 5 years thinking the same thing. I got a few E-7's and E-8's I need to call and let them know of this! Maybe the Navy and Coast Guard are different, we were preached to about the 7, 8, and 9 thing! Ben
