Charleston and Savannah are great this time of year. If you like to catfish, Lake Marion is home to some whoopers. Check out the guides at Harry's Fish Camp. I will promote my beloved South Carolina, I just can't promote Myrtle Beach and Motorcycles in the same sentence. Ben

Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson no longers sponsors the event. "Some" vendors come but nothing like 2008. A little history....in 2008 during the Memorial Day Bike week (crotch rocket's), MB turned into East Los Angeles with near riots and a local college student was killed over a parking spot in MB city limits. The MB Mayor and City Council decided they wanted nothing to do with bikers and residents followed suit with a vote. It is LEGAL to ride in South Carolina without a helmet, but ILLEGAL in Myrtle Beach (I applaud them for that). The case has been heard by the SC Supreme Court. Decision is pending.. Anyhow....many business' are pro-biker, many are not. It's nothing like it use to be and as someone who lived in Myrtle Beach for 21 years I say go somewhere else during the "so-called" biker week. You will be hasseled the entire time because you are on 2 wheels. MB is a great place, just not during Bike Week. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer. Ben

But ya know, it is nice to have someone to talk to!!! When at home I am okay because all I wear is basketball shorts. It's those buttons and zippers that kill me! Ben

I got a great report from the doctor today. He is an orthopedic doctor who specializes with hands. He said all parts of my arms/elbows/wrists/shoulder are well on their way to recovery. My hand is numb, but that is a natural part of the recovery. Now comes some intense physical therapy which I am ready for. Praise Jesus for a great report. Thanks to all my fellow Ventureriders for their continued thoughts and prayers. I am on my way back!!!!!!!:dancefool::dancefool: Ben

the more i look at the red/black, the more it grows on me. The Gamecock color connection only makes it better. does the red/black combo have the chrome forks? Riderduke sure was envious of my chrome forks!!! Ben

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE ON SATURDAY!!! BEN:thumbsup:

On top of that already, I think a black/red is in my future! Would love a solid raven, but no luck on finding a new one at this point. I am going to buy new when I buy. Thanks!!! Ben

Now that I am back in VA, it sure is depressing looking outside and my Midnite RSV ain't sitting there. I sure do miss that bike! I only had her for 7 months but man we had some good times! RIP my black beauty!!!! http://hphotos-sjc1.fbcdn.net/hs494.snc3/26972_1362195648803_1048940196_31078560_6669339_n.jpg Taken 2 hours before the accident on 3/27. She sure was looking and running good that morning. Just the day before I had ridden her from Washington DC to Myrtle Beach, SC and just topped 10K miles. She was so young!!!!:crying::crying::crying::crying: Ben

had my first bad afternoon today. having all of my independence taken away has finally caught up to me. i am doing all i can to stay positive and i know i will overcome this small bout of depression. also went from 130 am to 830 pm without any pain medicine. it hit me like a brick wall though, i dont think i am ready to fight the pain on my own yet. the nerve damage in my hand is worse than anything. it feels like someone cutting my fingers with a dull steak knife. okay i'll stop complaining, i know others have it much worse than i do. i promise to be more upbeat tomorrow. on a side note, my wife has a 5 year old cousin who found out this weekend he has a massive brain tumor. his name is Jameson, please pray for the little guy, he needs it very much. the outlook is very bleak, but the good Lord saved me and can do the same for him. please lift him up!! thanks for your support. ben

i went down for the first time on 3/27. i was going 51, the altima was doing 60. she hit me head on. 2 broke arms and lots of pain medicine later, i still can't use the bathroom by myself. dang it, i need some privacy! hope your injuries heal soon. i'm already looking for a new bike:dancefool: ben

humor makes life worth living....i find humor in just about everything and it keeps me going. dad is doing better and seems to be getting in better spirits. leaving him on friday for virginia will be tough. we have had some great bonding time over the past 2 weeks, even given the circumstances. he is my best friend and i cherish every minute with him. as for the girl who hit me, i pray for her everyday. i probably know the reason why she hasn't, but a phone call to check on us would mean the world. no ill will from me, but i do hope she has learned something from this. i'm still kicking and will continue for a long time. just don't think less of me if i shed a tear on the 17th when ya'll pull out on your bikes. i will want to go with ya'll more than you will ever know! GOD Bless and ride safe! Ben

went for my 1st post op today...doc says everything looks good and is mending correctly. took some new x-rays and it was a nasty break in my forearm, but i got a nice new piece of chrome holding it together...now i wait on the bill. i still have a brace on my left elbow to keep it in socket, and one on my right wrist doing the same. all in all i am doing pretty well and thank each of you for your continued prayers and support. can't wait for the VA M&E on April 17th!!!
