Can I ask for a few prayers?
Gamecock replied to Gamecock's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I'm still here, but not online as much anymore. I have hit the peak with recovery, permanent nerve damage in both arms and loss of mobility in the left. Medicine controls the pain but it take a lot of it! Thanks for thinking about me! Ben -
Can I ask for a few prayers?

Thank everyone! I couldn't think of a higher honor and protecting my country and serving it's citizens! It something that I fell in love with in 2002, and now I can say I will be in this profession for a long time to come. Ride safe everyone! I hope to be doing that again one day soon with ya'll!!! Can I ask for a few prayers?

It's been awhile since I have posted but I wanted to give a little update.... I got over my hurdles (extensive nerve damage in my arms from the accident) and entered the Government Service on 8/15. I raised my hand in 2002 as a member of the Coast Guard to protect and defend the United States Constitution and I had the honor of doing it again with this job (sorry I can't say the agency, but it is in the Department of Justice). It's people like the ones here on VR that make this country so great! Thanks to everyone that lifted me up in prayer! God Bless the VR Family!!! Ben -

Thank you for all the prayers, they were felt! I currently am employed but found out that my position would be converted to a Government Service position. I was offered the spot but had to get over some hurdles. I got through the biggest one on Tuesday! Now the waiting game for when I get the FINAL word. Thanks again!!! Ben -

Thank ya'll so much! Prayers help so much! I'm living proof! Ben -
Could I ask everyone here to say a small prayer for me in the AM? I am going through some employment issues and need a few prayers. My motorcycle accident from back in March 2010 could play a negative role. Thank you VR family!!! Ben

Reading the Myrtle Beach, SC paper this morning I came across this. It happened about 4 miles from my parents home. The gentleman was on a 1985 Yamaha in Myrtle Beach from Ontario, Canada. Surely it had to be a Venture. Anyone know him? I looked through the Ontario section of members and couldn't find an Edward or Ed. Sad sad news!!! Police HORRY COUNTY Motorcyclist dies after S.C. 31 wreck A 63-year-old man from Canada has died after a single-motorcycle crash Friday morning in Horry County, according to authorities. Edward Parnall of Ontario was pronounced dead at 2:23 p.m. Friday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries he suffered in the crash, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. The incident occurred at 11:25 a.m. Friday when Parnall, traveling north on S.C. 31 on a 1985 Yamaha, exited onto a ramp to U.S. 501 North, lost control of the motorcycle and slid off the left side of the roadway, said Sgt. Kelley Hughes with the S.C. Highway Patrol. Parnall was the only person on the motorcycle, Hughes said. Parnall was wearing a helmet. The incident is still under investigation by the highway patrol. http://www.thesunnews.com/2010/11/06/1796357/police-motorcyclist-dies-after.html

Morphine is old school, you gotta get Dilotdid (sp), that stuff had me on Mars for about 4 days! Hope all goes well with the passing. Riderduke will lead you a hand (or both) if you need it. :stickpoke: He offered to do all sorts of things for me when I have surgery again. Best wishes my friend!

If I'm the Ben you're talking about, Yep it's true! The RSV took it hardcore in March. I had to put her down, well the texting teenager did that. I was hit head on; me doing 50, her doing 60. It threw me 25 feet over the car, shattered both my arms, broke a collar bone, and gave me a pretty bad concussion. I came back to work last week, I was out 5 months and 4 days. I really could have used more time out, but I couldn't take sitting at home anymore. Still in therapy and probably won't ever be 100% again. It wasn't my fault, she tried to pass a car while texting, I never saw her coming. In total it took me, my brother in law, my parents (on my dad's bike), and a friend out. B-I-L had a broekn wrist (2 surgeries), my dad shattered his ankle (5 plates), and my mom a pretty bad sprained knee. Friend escaped with a twisted back and $5K damage on his bike. Mine, B-I-L's, and dad's bike all totaled! I miss riding like crazy and hopefully get back on one one day. Although the wife says no right now, I'll talk her into it. Hope all is well with you! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs514.snc3/26972_1362196008812_1048940196_31078567_866641_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs514.snc3/26972_1362195688804_1048940196_31078561_5535339_n.jpg

Browsing the Harley site this weekend, and dang, I might be in love! I loved my Venture, but have always loved a H-D Road Glide....now with the backseat and trunk, I may be sold. Oh yeah, the ABS helps too. What do ya'll think of this bike? http://blog.encs.com/Portals/30908/images/11RoadGlideUltra.jpg
