The Puller from the Auto Supply will come with SAE Bolts, !!! You will have to buy Three, Metric Size bolts. There are Three holes in the Rotor Just for this purpose. ( for the puller bolts ) Be sure to Buy, Hight Strength Bolts, and be Darn Sure the Metric Thread Count is Correct. If you stip the threads out of th Rotor, your Screwed as they say.

Air Leak Following a Trailer Ride??
GeorgeS replied to RidingArk's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes, if you install Progressive Springs, the air pressure is of no matter !! I put them in about 18 months ago. I installed 15Wgt Fork Oil. Was a little stiff for a few thousand miles, but I like it now. I might go back to 10 Wgt. I ride single, and do not pull trailer. There is a posting in the 1st gen maint library, concerning replaceing the springs. Also, the Progressive, springs, are larger diameter material. So, there is less room for Oil in the tubes. Use 1 1/2 Oz. Less Oil, then called out in the service manual. -
I would start checking E-Bay, if nobody else comes up with one. Can you post a picture of it, so we can see exactly how it broke? would be interesting

Air Leak Following a Trailer Ride??
GeorgeS replied to RidingArk's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If 1st gen has over 50K on it, the original factory installed springs are worn out. Progressive Suspensiion springs cost about same as OEM, and are far better. You may also be low on Fork Oil, drain and refill, if nothing else, make sure you have the proper amount of oil installed each side . -
Air Leak Following a Trailer Ride??

Are you useing Progressive Suspension Springs ? If so, put in 15Wgt. Fork Oil, and you don't need air pressure. -

The "B" Wire picks up a ground, the ground goes thru the Two Switches, which are made, when the fluid level is normal, The Ground from the two Switches is send to the monitor unit thru the " W/B " wire. If you loose the ground at the Monitor unit, the light should flash. -

Check the rubber hose next to Gas filler cap. Remove hose, note the Very small Air Vent hole for the gas tank. It might be plugged. Rare occurence, but it does happen. -
What is this plug??
GeorgeS replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Its a " Br " ( brown) and "B" ( black ) The Br wire goes to the " Sig " fuse The B wire goest to ground circuit See page 7 Wireing diagram of service manual Also, see page 2-21, for component list of the Calif Extra Emission control components. OK, thats my 2 Cents worth on this subject. -
Trouble with which socket?
GeorgeS replied to Ohedron42's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
3/8 drive deep socket, with 1 inch extension, and use a 3/8 ratchet with a Swivil head. Best combo I have found. Be sure to blow out holes with compressed air, so junk does not fall into the hole. -
I 2nd that, Give the stuff a few days, to work its magic. If that does not work, then start considering, plug wires, maby Ing Coil, or TCI.

GeorgeS replied to Saddle_Bag's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If simply tightning the stem, does not stop the leak. Pull the tire, and replace the Valve Stem. -
Charging Problem - Opinions please
GeorgeS replied to BradT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Did he " Charge " the new Battery ?? New batteries should be charged, at a 2 Amp rate for 6 to 8 hours. Do not use a Trickle charger, use a Real Charger. But still check out the Alternator, and regulator, -

Sounds like the hose from the fuel pump to the top of Carbs, has a leak. Get access to the top of carbs, to work on the fuel lines, you will have to remove the Air Cleaner Box.
-
Try " round up ", its supposed to kill everything, After about 6 weeks you can replant the area.

Now if we can drill lots of oil from below 30,000 feet like the Russians are doing, we will have something to sell, to pay off all our bills. However: Enviromentalists won't let the Oil companies drill the holes. OR: Build any new Oil Refineraries. --- So we turn our Food into Fuel: -------- So the cost of your food is going Sky High ---- When all the Corn is used to make Ethanol, then the cows won't have anything to eat, and guess what?? No T-Bones at the super market. And, you have to Run you Bike on Fake GAS
-
Well, Check the clamps that hold the Air Cleaner Box to the Top of the carb. Check carefully the Breather hose that runs from the bottom of the box, make sure its properly connected to the breather intake ports, between the front and rear Cylinder. Clean it up and start over. If bike was running OK, I would not worry about it. Also, when you Refill your crankcase with new, OIL, be sure you do not OVERFILL, With bike on Center Stand and level, fill to 1/2 way up the Sight Glass. Put in 3 Qts, then run engine to fill your new filter, then fill to the proper level. If you put in the quantiy called out in the service manual, it will be above the sight glass. Don't fill over, 1/2 way up the sight glass.

Both companies Have new rigs in the Gulf. They are starting to Drill down to Below 30,000 feet. Supposed to be lots of Oil down there. But will take about 5 years to drill the holes. Rigs being brought over from Asia. They are drilling in about 10,000 feet of water, The Bore hole diameter of these monster rigs is about 40 to 48 inches. I also found that one hole has been drilled to 30000 plus feet in Wyoming. Russians are also drilling to 30,000 for the NorthVietnamise off the Coast of N. Vietnam. A 30,000 ft hole started pumping just off the NE coast of Sakahaline Island in Oct. last year. Its pumping at the rate of about 230,000 barrells a month. Japan is buying all the oil. 4 more holes are in the process of being drilled there. Word is this well flows oil which is at 350 to 400 deg. F. Very high quality oil. Supposedly massive new oil finds, are located off the E coast of Brazil, Estimated to be at about 28,000 feet. I did some serious research, on the Equipment used to drill these holes. I found the information for the Equipment. I even found the Spec Sheets for the Drilling Rigs. Point: If the rigs are being built, that can drill to 30,000 feet. ----- Then: there must be some oil down there ! One more observation: I don't think there are any dead , rotted Dinasors down below 30,000 feet. ( or rotted jungles ) Hmmmm, fossil fuel ????? I wonder. Russia, is no longer Bankrupt, they paid off all their debt with Oil Money. Word is they have drilled a lot of oil wells to below 30,000 feet. They sell the crude via pipe lines into Eastern Europe.
