    RSV Bars

I've got Baron's risers on my RSV and I'm not really loving the set-up. Yes, they do put the bars back where they're comfortable for me, but they allow the stock risers to flex too much for my liking. Has anybody got a longer reach aftermarket bar they would want to sell or maybe trade for my risers? I need about another inch or two of pullback.
  4. I've had mine on the bike for about 8 months now and I love them. The stock grips on an RSV are not cushioned at all and I thought they were small ever for my little hands. Put the grip puppies on and it was a night and day difference. The cushy foam absorbs any vibration and the larger grip size keeps my hands more relaxed and I'm no where near as tired at the end of a long day of riding. I got two pair for $8 on ebay, so they're cheap enough to give it a try.
  5. Yep, just getting the inside wet is the key. I was in a hurry when I installed mine so I just grabbed a can of something off of the shelf in the garage and squirted it inside. I think it may have even been Armor All, LOL.
  6. Prayers sent.
  7. I'm in Blountville (just outside of Bristol) and will be happy to help in any way I can. I'm heading in to work now and don't get off until 6:00, but if you still need help give me a call. My cell number is 423-676-6328. Good luck.
  8. $800 or $400, it don't matter...I can't afford it. Too bad we don't have enough 2nd Gen members close enough for us to have a valve adjust day.
  9. When I was in High School I was riding home one evening in the summer on my trail bike and decided to pass the time by singing. I had my mouth wide open and caught a honeybee in my mouth. Little bugger stung me on the tongue and that was the last time I ever sang out loud on a bike. Hurt like he##!!
  10. I have the same issue with my bike. The wife can barely hear in the back at a volume that's ringing my ears. And yep, we've tried switching helmets from front to back and trying different helmet speakers, etc. It's like the rear needs a small amplifier, but that's way over my head.
  11. Had a blast Randy, thanks!
  12. Riding my bike home from work yesterday I came across a maroon / black venture with out of state plates. I thought it might be someone from here riding in for the meet at Randy's tonight so I waved at him and we pulled in to a gas station to chat. He was actually riding around the southeast just seeing sights and stopped over here to ride the 421 Snake. We talked about the bikes, mods I have done to mine and of course I had to tell him about Venturerider.org and that here is where I got the info to do the stuff I've done. Maybe we'll see him around, I'm terrible with names, but I believe he said his name was Rich.
  13. Going to try to be there, but we'll have to see when Glenda and I can get out of work. Pretty sure I'm going to make the ride to Ashville on Saturday.
  14. If the planets align correctly, I should be able to make the Asheville M&E.
  15. Dang Steve, that sucks!!! Randy I really want to make one of Freebird's MDs, they look like a blast. Maybe I'll get to make next year's.
  16. Hope you all enjoy these...today was beautiful in East TN. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/utf-8BSU1HMDAyODktMjAxMTA2MDctMTU1OS5qcGc.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/utf-8BSU1HMDAyOTAtMjAxMTA2MDctMTYwMi5qcGc.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/utf-8BSU1HMDAyOTEtMjAxMTA2MDctMTYwMi5qcGc.jpg
  17. I always wave. Generally by two fingers pointed down, but that's just because it's comfortable to me. The reason I wave to other riders? I want them to know I've got their back if they have a breakdown or other trouble. Also, I want to know I can depend on them. We're much more vulnerable than anyone else on the road and we really have to stick together. Whether you want to call it a brotherhood or not, we do really all need each other and I want you to know that you can depend on me.
  18. Hey Thom, I have a buddy that's a bartender at the Windrose on Tybee Island. If you stop in there tell Kim that Mick says howdy. Have a really good time.
  19. Which ones did you go with? The G2's? I would like to have something like the H2 bars, but I don't know if they would work.
  20. I'm thinking pretty hard about putting different handlebars on the RSV, but Venture specific bars are pretty limited in selection. Doesn't some of the bars from Harley's fit our bikes? If so, which models (I think someone mentioned Road Glide in another thread)? Figured since so many more accessories are available for Harleys, it might make bars easier to find if I search for them instead of Venture bars.
  21. I don't use any air with my Progressives and it's the best ride I've ever had.
  22. What do you mean "OR" chaps??? I really hope I don't ever see you wearing chaps with nothing on under them!!! I wear jeans, boots, gloves and a helmet all the time. Just doesn't feel right without them. I have gone to a 3/4 or half helmet most of the time because a full face isn't comfortable for me anymore.
  23. You have IM Gunk!!
  24. Thanks Bubber!! Has anybody else got one if Bubber can't find his?
  25. Does anybody know if this adapter will be available for purchase? I still have the CD changer cable attached, but I ditched the changer as soon as I got the bike. Would love to be able to hook up an ipod.
