    I don't think I'm old enough to qualify as a hippie, but I did follow the Dead around for a while. I also did a lot of acid so I may actually be a hippie. Now the big question is where are all of those flashbacks I was promised???

    I really like the Geezer Glide name I stole from another member, but most of the time I just call it The Relief. Maybe I'l get more creative someday.

    I'm hoping it's just the cable too. I really appreciate the help Monty. Just got the cable ordered, hopefully we won't need to see if an '83 speedo will work in an 86.

    Went for an awesome ride today (thanks for leading Randya), but in the middle of the ride the spedo started screaming. Then it decided not to come home with me. I suppose that means we've moved past the "lube it and it'll be ok" point. How much is this going to cost me?

    That hurts. My 15 year old daughter likes to ride, but complains that I have a "papaw" bike. She won't go if she thinks someone will see her.

    First real street bike was a 71 Honda 175 Enduro. This was in 82 and the gas tank was faded out pink. A few years later, I went big time and got a 72 Honda 350four which was actually pretty sweet for the size. Then I went for about 25 years and bought my 87 VR. Talk about a step up!!!

    I checked Tennessee rules today. They don't offer collector plates, but you can get antique tags and the bike does qualify. The kicker is you can only ride in parades or shows and only on weekends. Oh the price is $28 per year. Don't think I would be saving anything.

    The question about how to get the bike on the center stand got me to thinking about another question. I can get my bike on the center stand with no problems at all basically using the same technique described in that thread. What I have a hard time with is getting the bike off of the center stand. Anybody got any ideas on this? Also remember I'm barely 5'6" so sitting on the seat and pushing the bike off of the center stand is out of the question.

    I finally bit the bullet and ordered two sets of J&M Headsets. They came yesterday and I got them installed today. Also finished replacing the cassette deck with an mp3 player and wiring it up so that I can turn it on and off with the factory radio or bypass it all together. Now warm weather please get here soon before I think of another project.

    One word of caution, I just ordered this connector from NKCeletronics and ordered stock # CON-008. They sent me a "male" connector with pins instead of the "female" connector with the sockets that is needed for this. I emailed the company and they said that the only sell "male" connectors and maybe the ad was misleading. I emailed them back to see what we could do about the situation and now they won't respond. The up side is these connectors are cheap and I was able to get the right one locally.

    OK, I need to find a REALLY good deal on a set headsets for two helmets. The wife thinks it would be a good idea to talk while we're riding. Does anybody know where I can get them cheap? A buddy said he saw some in an ad in Wing World for $69 for two. Of course, he didn't keep the magazine. Help. Mick
