  1. Randy did a heck of a job getting my bike running smooth last winter. He won't take money, but does like to be fed.
  2. Well, if somebody can come up with the package, I'll buy one. Thanks guys.
  3. I'm going to be needing a center stand for my bike when I get my 2nd Gen. Is anyone here still offering one, or have one for sale?
  4. I've got stubby little arms to go with my stubby little legs, so I'm going to need to move the bars back a little closer when I get my RSV. Has anyone here tried these? They look pretty cool. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/ZZ50825?N=2757835&results=100
  5. Dang, that was a smack.
  6. Congratulations!!!
  7. LOL...That's funny. Actually I am going to buy a 2nd Gen in the next couple of weeks. The things I'm doing on the old 1st Gen is just preparing it for the future.
  8. Hmmmmm...and what would that "right price" be???
  9. I do know for sure I want an RSV. The tour deluxe looks cool, but I want the trunk ans front faring. Can somebody tell me what year the started using the stereo that would take a memory stick or an ipod?
  10. I've decided I'm going to add a 2nd gen to the stable (I've got some plans for the 1st gen, but I'll save that for later). I know there's some nice ones in the classifides on here, but if anybody knows of a nice one under $8k within a few hours of East TN, please let me know. Thanks!
  11. The only good use of corn is making moonshine. Just sayin...
  12. Probably the common explanation would be that 1st gens are so fast that when the bike gets warm, the sound can no longer keep up.
  13. I'm running dual antennas, so I won't need to do the Marshall Mod. Is there any way of doing this without having to run a new cable? I can't find one that has a Motorola end for the radio.
  14. I bought a FireStik antenna for my bike because I read a few posts that said it was an easy swap. Apparently, I'm not that bright when it comes to CB's. The antenna has a male end on it and so does the cable on the bike mount, so it won't just screw on. I've found replacement cables, but they all have the wrong connector at the radio end (and they're all 18'). So how do I get a cable on this thing??? I'm completely lost. Thanks guys.
  15. Another thing I want to do for my winter project is replace my worn-out driver foot pegs. I know you can find used ones occasionally on ebay, etc., but I would rather buy new aftermarket pegs than replace them with another 20+ year old set. So the question, does anybody make aftermarket pegs the will fit our bikes? Mine is an '86 VR. Thanks!
  16. Split it in half, butter the open face of both sides and cover with sorghum. But if I'm having gravy instead, no butter at all.
  17. Actually the bike looks really good, I'm just concerned because it's beginning to get hairline cracks. Besides, what else have I got to do this winter?
  18. I know we've talked about this a bunch, but usually we're only talking about spot repair. I'm starting to get a bunch of cracks in the plastic of my fairings so I've decided that my winter project this year is to strip all the plastic off of the bike and reinforce it. I'm going to build up the areas that have cracks pretty good, but I want to also put a layer of fiberglass cloth all over the insides to add some strength. I've looked at Plastex, but dang it's going to be expensive to get enough for a project like this. Several on here have said not to use fiberglass resin, so what are my options? Will ABS cement work for this or do I need to look at something else? Thanks.
  19. Bought the same one from West Marine and mounted it 2 weeks ago in the same spot. I'm very happy with it. Now if I can just find something to do about that ugly CB antenna, I'll be set.
  20. I had a heck of a time changing the plugs in mine until I tried the spark plug tool in the bike's tool kit. Worked perfectly.
  21. Just wanted to give you all a heads up that I posted some 1st Gen stuff in the Classifieds.
  22. I just posted one in the classifieds if anybody still needs it. Complete with mount, antenna and cable.
  23. I've got one on the front to match the one on the back. Very good tires.
  24. I switched from E2's to E3's earlier this summer and it was like getting on a brand new bike. I really like the E3's and will stick with them as long as they make them. I'm very happy with them.
  25. Mine actually has separate antennas for the FM and the CB. I figured I would just lose the FM antenna and install the other one then I saw the splitter and couldn't figure what in the heck all of that was for.
