I'm pretty sure my old 1st Gen weighed more that 4000 lbs. Or at least it felt like it to these short legs!!!

Nope!! My wife hasn't fallen off either...no matter what shirt she was wearing! LOL

One thing that Harley is doing right is customer service. I've ridden into all of the Harley shops in my area on Honda's, Yamaha's and every other kinds of metric bike you can imagine and always received the most welcoming treatment you can imagine. Not so much when I go to any of my local Yamaha stores. Also resale value is great on a Harley, much better than on any other make I've had experience with. Oh and I really like my HD shirts and hats!

Not a thing in the world wrong with a beer or 49. Dang now I'm thirsty...

Welcome!!! You're gonna like I here.

Here's Red Molly in her own carpeted parking spot. Really happy with her and she's NOT top heavy!!! LOL http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/1374155D-BD2B-4795-8249-540D67625D92_zpstawckyfy.jpg

Noooooooo!!! Never said I was leaving...just selling my Venture stuff to make room for Harley stuff. LOL
-
just wanted to let everyone know that my Venture stuff is in the classifieds now. Let me know if anybody has any questions.

The headsets may be spoken for but I'm not sure. Shoot me a PM and we can talk about the carbtune and the headsets if they are still available.
-
We were looking at the gray color first, but ended up buying at a different dealership instead. the Mysterious Red was the best color they had and I'm really liking it.

Thanks everybody!! She's a new 2014 Street Glide Special and my first new bike ever. Hey Randy, give me a call sometime we'd like to see ya!

Well friends another one has been lured away to the dark side. These old knees and stubby legs just couldn't handle the top heavy any longer. I'll still be hanging around though too many good people here to leave. Here's a pic of my new ride and be watching the classifieds as I start selling headsets, mirrors, carbtune and other Venture items I'm not going to be able to use any longer. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/CEE075A7-CB4E-4C96-91C9-A652FF486229_zpsfibaxfhf.jpg

Howdy friends!! Just wanted to plug that my RSV is now in the classifieds in case you don't check there much. It's a nice one!! Thanks! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/DragonCropped.jpg

I'm going to register my vote as being in favor of fuel injection. I was concerned about it when it first started becoming standard on cars, but in all the years I've been driving fuel injected cars I've never had that component let me down. I trust the technology, and I have had more issues out of carbs than I care to count.

Road Star Kickstand For Lowered RSV
elmicko replied to elmicko's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a welder or re-chroming equipment. -
I posted this question in the Watering Hole in hopes that higher traffic would help me get an answer, but the experts are here. I've seen some recommendations to use a Road Star kickstand on RSVs that have been lowered. I was ready to pull the trigger on one, but then I realized that they don't have the extension on the side like the RSV stands do. If I change out the stand am I going to have problems getting the new one down??? Here's a pic of my stand for reference. Thanks!! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/20130604_183309_zpsffc478aa.jpg

Thanks Bubber, you're always a great help. LOL

Ok now I'm a bit concerned about the Road Star kickstand idea. The ones for a Road Star don't have the extension that you can grab with your heel and put the stand down. So if I put the Road Star kickstand on there am I going to be causing myself problems? Here's a pic of mine so you'll know what I'm talking about. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/20130604_183309_zpsffc478aa.jpg

That would be great! Can anyone confirm this?

Hi!!! Haven't posted in a while, but I've lurked quite a bit. Is anybody selling shorter kickstands for 2nd gens right now? I lowered mine on the front forks a couple of years ago and it really makes me nervous when parked on anything other than a flat surface. Just not enough lean angle on the stock kickstand now.

97 RS Tour Classic
elmicko replied to elmicko's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Thanks!! Keep 'em coming. I'm making a list for him. -
Just like the title says, I helped a buddy enter the fold by helping him find a sweet 97 Tour Classic. It's a great bike with only 17000 miles. He doesn't own a computer, so I'm going be coming to you guys with questions for him and we'll really appreciate any help you can give. I posted some questions from him on the thread below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=78233 And I know...pics. Here's a few: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/29ab508303895dfaee3974c29fcaab15_zps95a30302.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/5076954ab5e07fcc5619d4e11f48ad40_zpse357d8a3.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/64563fa19eb8ccca3a79aa6b0838299e_zps545eace2.jpg

Got a good buddy that just joined the Royal Star world with a sweet 97 RSTC with only 17,000 miles. It's a Standard with 4X4 pipes. He's wanting to put some nice deep and loud pipes, hard saddlebags and a batwing faring. Can I get some advice on the tried and true options for these add-ons? My first thought too was to have him join up and get aquatinted, but he doesn't own a computer. You all have always helped me, hope you can help my buddy too.

I'm really not sure if Jefferson's even good enough to qualify as a "wannabe". You may be giving him a few points.

I'll admit that I was pulling hard for LSU, but I'm really disappointed that we didn't get to see a game. I really have no idea if LSU could beat Alabama again on their best day, but if the real LSU had showed up to the game we would have had something good to watch. I don't mind getting beat, but it really bugs me to show up and give a game away like that. I was really hoping for a nail-biter.
