  1. This thing showed me doing 334 mph, off road, flying over 3000 foot mtn tops. I don't think I'd put alot of confidance in miles traveled. I stopped at an overlook for about 5 minuts. It still showed I was doing 135 mph and that I was 30 miles from where I really was. It's never told me to turn left in a tunnel, but it has tried to get me to turn left off the side of a mountain.
  2. The land speed record is 376.363605 mph on a highly modified suzuki. I think I'm going to put on an air kit, some pipes, cut down the windshield and head to Bonneville. I may just have a shot at this. 25 September 2010Bonneville, U.S.Rocky Robinson U.S.ATop Oil-Ack Attack streamliner2,600 cc (160 cu in)376.363605.697twin Suzuki engines [18] First record over 600 km/h (373 mph)
  3. I keep hearing you guys with the first gen's bragging about how fast they are. Well, heres proof that my second gen is not only fast but handels very well also. This was done on Ga hwy 348 (Richard B. Russell Scenic Hwy.) which cuts through the mtn's of north Ga at some of ga's highest elevations. I never felt like I was doing more than 70mph. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?pictureid=5687&albumid=517&dl=1310929526&thumb=1 I don't want to hear anything else about the speed of first gen's. :no-no-no::rasberry:

  5. I ordered mine Saturday and they arrived Tuesday. Installed today. They work as advertised. The only problem I have is getting Shirley to push the button to talk. On second thought, maybe thats not a problem at all.
  6. But the vehicle that is backing is ALLWAYS at fault. No way they can go there. Key was in the gas cap sitting in the little nook where the key go's. Cop's were called and came, report written. Never a question as to who was at fault. I called my ins. this morning. They said to file a claim with the other parties ins. and if I had a problem to let them know. I called their ins. told the whole story and made sure they knew the key was out of the ignition and it sounds like, at least at this point, they'll make me whole. We'll see. Thanks for the input.
  7. Stopped to get gas today. I pulled up to the pump and there was a ford ranger at the pump in front of me. I turned off the ignition, Shirley dismounted as I removed the gas cap and set it where the key go's and pull my wallet out. As I'm fishing for the credit card the lady at the next pump decides she wants to look at the prices again, throws it in reverse and I'm taking a ride backwards. Shirley's yelling WOAH!!! I'm not sure what I was yelling, but I was. The only damage is to the front fender and it's toast. I guess it will have to go to the shop for an estimate so I'll be without the RSV for awhile. Hopefully the ins will let me do the work so I'll have it back on the road quicker, and I prefer to do my own work anyway. Normally this would not be a problem since I have a Honda VTX as well. But monday the piston vacuum in the carb decided to split so it's out of commision. Part is backorderd untill at least late next week. I guess I'll keep riding the RSV with a real ugly front fender untill I can get the Honda going. I can't stand the thought of not having a bike to ride. Do I call her ins or go through mine? I've wrecked bikes before but this is the first time someone else was involved.
  8. The most comfortable plugs I have found are the Hearos Rock n Roll plugs. I can wear them all day. http://www.hearos.com/products/rock-n-roll
  9. Interesting. I say put the banner up.
  10. Florida is not the south, it's Florida. If you haven't had grits or gravy made by someone from the south, give them another try when you get here. Folks up north just don't know how to cook them. I remember when Atlanta was a southern city. Now it's just a city in the south.
  11. Thanks Bob! Good point Canuck.
  12. I lost the bolt that holds the rear brake caliper bracket to the swing arm. Page F-3 of the service manual Ref #4 Part # 95024-10030-00 Discription- Bolt, Flange I'm sure I can get one at Ace if I can find the size, pitch and tpi. Thanks!
  13. Glad I got to meet Y'All. We found the same storm. Bet Y'All stayed drier than us.
  14. Count me and Shirley in. Provinos is our favorite.
  15. I just put my RSVP in for me and Shirley. We don't get to make alot of these things. Looking forward to meeting Y'All.
  16. Most are just waves/greetings. Now if they are patting the top of their helmet, expect to see a traffic cop very shortly. Pushing downward with the palm of the hand is "slow down" Some sort of trouble ahead. My wife waves when I'm too busy to wave.
  17. I always wear a helmet even when it's not required. I'm alive today because I had a helmet on in 1984. Besides, if I didn't wear a helmet now my head would get burned.
  18. Thats the one I have. Nice hitch and it comes with the wireing harness.
  19. Looks like there still not bright enough.
  20. So very, very sorry to hear this. Shirley and I will include you and your family, especially you sister, in our prayers.
  21. Key words there were "sounds like". Tho I'm not positive, I,ve heard the T-rex uses the VMax engine and rear end.
  22. That sounds like a T-Rex. http://www.trexcampagnabroker.com/
  23. I doubt the weight loss is from a lack of nutrition. More likely it's the work/stress levels keeping his/their weight down. These guys cary a ton on their backs every where they go. And just imagin the stress of your life being on the line 24/7. Having to self fund ANY gear is another issue.
