  1. It's OK, I use my left hand. Besides I wear gloves.
  2. Yea, he got it. A real beauty too. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=88024
  3. Now I'm just jealous. I know your excited. Monday will be 4 weeks since I ordered mine and it feels like 6 months. Congratulations. And make sure you take and post a bunch of pics.
  4. Have you considered a trike? Looking forward to seeing you again.
  5. Shirley and I are staying at: Quality Inn & Suites Biltmore East 1430 Tunnel Rd Asheville, NC 28805 We'll be checking in Thursday evening. See Ya'll at the KOA Friday AM
  6. Please post any findings. I don't have my bike converted yet but already thinking of doing this.
  7. I confused myself. The last disk you install is a friction disk, not a steel disk, correct?
  8. I feel your pain. It seems like 2 months since I orderd mine but it's only been 2 weeks. I feel like a 6 year old waiting on Christmas. The days are crawling by.
  9. I'm probably OK then. I'll check the thickness when I get in there. Thanks again.
  10. I just orderd Skydocks clutch spring upgrade to beef up the clutch in preparation for the trike. My clutch is not slipping. Do you think I should get new friction plates as well? Thanks!
  11. Your right, not "MY" choice of bikes. However. I know guys that think the venture is a tank. 2 wheels (or three) is all that matters. Good looking bike. Hope I get to ride with you some day.
  12. Coach Rice wants one of my saddle bags for color match on 8/4 and he will take delivery of my kit on 8/18. He should be done with the install by 8/23 or early the next week. So no, no triking in Asheville. In fact I'll be kinda naked without bags. So far I'm really impressed with Coach Rice and Hannigan. You'd think I was their only customer. Hannigan gave me a welcome over on trike talk and let me know they had my order before Coach Rice could get back in touch with me.
  13. And awaaaaay we go! Financing done and the kit is ordered. Coach Rice is gona let me know tomorrow when it will be delivered. No turning back now.
  14. Reminds me of the Army when someons time to get out was getting near you would hear them shout "SHORT" and announce the number of days left. Almost all ways someone else would shout "SHORTER' and announce their remaing time. Allways got the guys with years left grumbling.
  15. Kinda curious myself. Are you comfotable yet?
  16. Happy birthday VentureRider.Org. I'll drink a home brew in celabration. Maybe 2. Thanks to Don for all the work. I'm sure it's not easy. I found and joined this site the day after I bought my RSV. I don't post as often as alot of ya, but I check in at least once a day. Can't believe it's been almost 5 years allready.
  17. "OK just wondering how the retired among us start their day." I'll be able to answer this in 382 days. Man, that clock sure is moving slow.
  18. We sold our mustang because it sat too low for her. We traded the crown vic because it sat too low for her Moved up to a full size suv because the CRV sat too low for her. Ain't no way shes moving closer to the ground. Plus she likes the 360 degree view she has by siting on back of the bike. I'm certain she would lose that sitting beside it.
  19. That would set Shirley down lower. She like's setting up high so she can see better. Beside she can't jab me in the ribs from down there when I get "frisky" as she calls it. So no, never seriously considered it.
  20. Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the comments and suggestions. We should be putting the finishing touches on the deal tomorrow. I'm a little excited yet worried. I've been riding two wheels a very long time and done just about anything you can imagine on them. Moving away from them seems kinda wrong but I know I'm doing the right thing. Shirley and I are no where near ready to give up riding but know my knees are going. I want to go ahead and do this before a knee gives out I drop it with he on back. That would kill me......or maybe SHE would kill me. Anyway, I'll update here as it progresses. It's gona look kinda funny running around with one saddlebag for awhile.
  21. Doubt it will be ready by then. But We'll see.
  22. Thats what Carl suggested. Sounds like a good idea to me.
  23. We shall see. Mr. Rice said it takes him about 4 weeks to get the kits. A couple of weeks for paint and about 4 days for install. Either way I wont be without the bike for long, and even if I am I have a VTX that I love to ride as well.
  24. Yep, just got back from Coach Rice trikes. He took me for a ride on a goldwing and showed me some of what they are capable of. That was the first time I have EVER been on the back of a bike. He then let me take it out for myself and then I took Shirley for a ride. It's definatly different from 2 wheels but not a bad experiance. I think I'll get used to it pretty quick. We're pulling the trigger a a full kit, running boards, auxilery tank, trailer hitch, reverse and a hitch. Shirley is working on finance as I type. I should be 3 wheeling in 5 or 6 weeks. On a side note, I've questioned myself a few times as to whether I had made the right choice buying the RSV over the wing. I wont do that again. Talk about cramped. I now know for certain the RSV was the right choice for me.
