  1. It doesn't mater how you build it. A direct hit WILL destroy it. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/FEMA_Aerial_view_of_May_20,_2013_Moore,_Oklahoma_tornado_damage.jpg
  2. Thanks all. We are still unable to bring James home and still don't know the cause of death. The police wont release the body or any info untill the investigation is done. The wait is killing us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
  3. Thanks to all. Still trying to get James home. Still don't know cause of death. Getting answers from China is VERY difficult.
  4. We're still trying to get our son home from China. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://www.gofundme.com/owjhek
  5. My step son left here on March 2nd to take a teaching job in China. The embasy called Saturday night 3/14 and informed us he was found dead in his room. We don't know what happend, waiting on autopsy and trying to get him home. Please include him and my family in your prayers. Thank you.
  6. That pic is enough to cause nightmares. LOL Can't wait till the next one.
  7. Sunday sure looks like it's going to be nice. There has been enough rain that the salt and gravel should be clear on the mountain passes. I think we're going to find out. If anybody wants to come along, your more than welcome.
  8. I usually don't "PLAN" trips other than what to take along. It seems the majority of the time I end up in the mountains somewhere. After retirement (come on January) I PLAN on seeing how many states I can visit before running out of money.
  9. I predict tears, hugs, smiles and laughter.
  10. Wow! 16 was 45 years ago! So much GREAT music from that era it's hard to pick any one song. I've all ways had an appreciation for and enjoy most types of music but the rock-n-roll of the 60s & 70s has allways been, and still is, my choice.
  11. We'll add you to our prayer list Don. I hope which ever decision you make is the right one, but I'm a big fan of spending all the time I can with the ones I love. Hard to do that when your on the road all the time.
  12. I'm glad your wife is feeling more comfortable about this trip. Theres not alot I can say that hasn't already been said except that the BRP is mine and Shirleys absolute favorite ride. We ride at least part of it every year and have done the whole thing including Skyline Drive several times. There are motels and eats off most every exit. I like to fuel up every time I exit. Maybe we'll see you up there.
  13. It seems someone down here ordered some of that stuff (86er maybe) Supposed to be here around noon. We don't have a very good record of handling that stuff. We don't get near as much practice as you guys up north.
  14. When I was younger I really liked to hear finely tuned engins being wound up. Had expansion chambers on my 2 strokes and straight pipes on my 4 strokes I guess I've soured as I've aged and now find all the noise irritating.
  15. I wasn't suggesting you should have gone with a Hannigan. Just that I'm having a blast on mine, hope you like yours as much as I do mine.
  16. SWEET! First trike? Hope you like it as much as I like my Hannigan.
  17. Sadly all the old photos of my bikes were destroyed when my parents basement flooded when I was overseas in the Army. But my afliction is very simalar to pucs. I had to be born with it. I remember trying to talk mom and dad into letting my buy one of thos little bicycle motors out of the back of magazines and wearing out the sears catalog looking at the Allstate motorcycles. There was a Harley shop just a few miles from the house and I'd spend a large portion of my Saturdays there dreaming of rideing those HUGE motorcycles. When I was about 8, one of the big kids in the neiborhood had a minibike that would not run and his parents told him to get ride of it. I was all to happy to take it off his hands. Mom knew I'd never get it running so she didn't worry about it. After messing with it for a couple of weeks and some "secret" help from dad I was tearing up the back yard and the beast was out of his cage. When i was 11 dad came home with a very slightly used Suzuki 80 like this one. http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/K/K11/1964_K11_Sport-80_red_450.jpg It took mom along time to forgive dad for that. She was sure I was going to kill myself. I built some ramps in the back yard so I could do some jumping. That REALLY made mom happy. From then on I just kept moving on up to bigger, faster bikes. Never bought a car till after I got out of the service. Mom eventualy warmed up to me rideing and became a trusting passenger and my biggest supporter at the track.
  18. I quit rideing when it gets below freezing a few years ago. Not because I couldn't take the cold but because Shirley let me know how much it worried her. Even though I only rode on dry days, she worried about some jerk opening a hydrant or someones sprinkler system. Then one day some jerk DID open a hydrant when it was in the low 20s and made a real mess of things. It didn't effect me but she laid the law down, No more riding below freezing. That don't look like Misheygan to me!
  19. I've rode to work in the teens many times. Don't usualy see single didgets this far south. If you layer up and top it with leather you can get 15-20 miles before you even start feeling it.
  20. Alot of folks use these and love them. I hear you may want to weld the corners so beef it up. 78" Tag-Along Trailer - 600 Lb. Capacity
  21. Good post Randy. I've practiced emergency stopping on every bike I've owned and work in refreshers throughout the year. It's saved my bacon on a number of occasions. If you don't know how to stop it, you probably shouldn't get it going.
  22. I was hopeing to make it this year. Had to pick my vacation before you posted the date. I picked 1 week late. There are rumors that my job will be done away with before then and I'll have to retire 7 months early. We shall see.
  23. Yuh huh. And the Falcons were just a couple wins away too.
  24. 40 degrees here with a wind chill of 32. I acually saw 20 maybe 30 snow flakes. It was terrible man, just terrible. Seriously, I don't know how Y'all stand that stuff. Hope your stupid groundhog is wrong. Ours, Gen. Beauregard Lee predicts an early spring.
  25. I'm sure that has no effect on handling. I wonder how it does passing a semi on the interstate.
