Travelling To New England October 2nd - 6th
hunter 1500 replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
Two things, One if your going to be in VT tomorrow I would meet you somewhere for lunch or whatever. Next, Our group from anouther website rented a house in the Catskills and had a blast. We rented a 8 bedroom house in East Jewett. House was a little on the rought side but ok. Had a pool table and hot tub and big deck out back. There are some great roads in that area. If you get a chance go to my pics in the picture section.- 17 replies

What is a MM. Sorry I'm new to Yamahas.

I'm just glad I bought my RSTD when I did. I'm loving this bike so far. Not sure why they got rid of it. At least they are coming out with new models unlike Suzuki. If Suzuki had come out with a tour model of the C109, hardbags, fairing ect I would probably have bought one. Had good luck with them but I don't think the care about the cruiser market much. They are the leader in sport bikes. I'm glad they didn't because this RSTD is a perfect bike for me.

I've heard a butt call a bum but never heard of a bummer being called that.:rotf:
-
Are you talking miles or kilometers. That would be an average of 76 miles a day. Thats a lot of miles.
-
I did the same thing with my fairing from my last bike. Mine was real easy to mount after I finally figured it out. Heres the thread from the RSTD page. [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41001]Started my project - VentureRider.Org[/ame] I just have to get it painted to match the bike but I think I will wait till winter to have it done. These faiings sell for $699 w/o the radion and 799 with it. Its made by Wide Open Customs.

Sorry to hear this. It's tough all over but I'm sure you will make it. Thats a big move selling the house and moving south. I pray it all works out for you.

Ordered one tonight with the 2gb card off ebay for 164.95.

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. I thought it came with the suction mount but wasn't sure. My friend that had one used it quite a bit and they are really cool.
-
Thinking about getting a Gopro camera. Can anyone tell me if it comes with the suction cup mount. One of the guys from our rally last year had one and we had a lot of fun with it. I snowmobile and hunt also so the possibilities would be enless.

One thing to remember when you start riding with your freinds is to ride your own ride. A lot of people get in trouble by trying to keep with there buddies. They would rather wait at the next intersection than go back a scrape you off the hyway.

That sucks. I had surgery last spring for a hernia repair with the mesh screen. Was supposed to get out the next day and ended up for a week and had to go in isolation because of a infection. Hope everything goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

We've already had about four frosts and they are saying it might snow in the mountains tonight.
-
Ordered the same one myself last week. Should get it tommorow.

These were some of the Pictures I took from our North East Intruder Alert Ralley. We keep it small and it enables us to do some pretty cool stuff every year. Last winter we lost one of our members to diabetes so the pictures of us up on the mountain were from a tribute ride for him. We had a small urn of some of his ashes and spread them up there. http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g51/hunter1500/th_IMG_0230.jpg http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g51/hunter1500/th_IMG_0184.jpg

Well if you make it up here let me know. I've riden about every road within 100 miles. I know all the good places to eat and ride. I was stationed near Manasas in 73 at Vint Hills Farm Station. It used to be a top secret post and now I hear it is housing. I spent the night down in Fredericksburg a couple of years ago on my way to a rally down in Maggie Valley. Took a road down through where a lot of the battles of the civil war were fought. It was a beautiful area with huge horse and beef farms and white board fences.

OK I have to confess. I trailered my bike to the Catskills this summer from Vermont. But I had to bring a lot of stuff because we cooked four dinners and all the breakfasts for 13 to 16 people. We rented a huge house with 8 bdrms and because of the high prices in the area to make it more affordable one of the other guys and myself cooked the meals. I was a chef for 30 years and don't mind cooking in fact I kinda enjoyed getting back into it. One of the nights we had Mexican and needed a fry for it and I brought it plus outside chairs and other things we needed to cook plus food for the week. We rode in the area for 7 days and had a blast and it costs us $125 apiece for the house and $25 for food for all the breakfast and 4 meals fit for a king.

Don't use Fram. For the few dollars they save you they are not worth it. A guy from the LC1500/C90 forum dicected quite a few and they were the worst. Emgo or OEM are much better. Wix and NAPA gold were good also.

Never heard of one so I guess I don't own one. Is that the kind of gun that only evers sees camp. Sorry I couldn't resist. I googled it and sure enough there is a gun called a seecamp.

A little ride thru the Smokies w/pics
hunter 1500 replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Nice pics, I noticed the leaves have not started to change at all down there. Up here they are changing fast and should be peak foliage in about two weeks. I love riding at this time of year. The only bad part is I know winter is getting closer.- 12 replies

I like my ram mount. On my last bike the ram mount and the fairing made a perfect drink holder.

UPS will charge extra if the box is oversize. First it goes by weight then size. Never had a problem with shipping with them but I get a big discount because of the volume we do with them at DR Power. I shipped an stock exhaust system which was quite heavy for about $15.
-
The LC1500 used to do that until I took the pair valve off. Is that the same with these bikes?
-
Wasn't really the way I wanted to spend my afternoon

IMO 10k is pretty good for a back tire. On my LC I never had one go much more than 8k. Of coarse I like to change them before the tread gets worn off. I never liked the Brickstones on the LC but these tires feel pretty good so far. Last set I had on the LC were the Dulops 404 on the front a k555 on the back. They were the best handling tires I ever had on it. Anyone try these tires on the RSTD? -
Thanks. I feel stupid now. I saw the cap but didn't relize there was a screw under it.
