  1. Sounds like you need to get some heat in them before they have any grip. NASCAR drivers have to do the same thing.
  2. I think it's motorsports superstore. Here's a link http://www.motorsportssuperstore.com
  3. I lost my camera because the thumb screw came loose so I emailed the company and explained what happened and tried to get them to warranty it but they wouldn't because they said it was because the thumb screw came loose and that is not covered under the warranty. I kind of figured that but said hey it wouldn't hurt to try. They offered me a new camera for $84 and my pick of any accessory.
  4. Damn, you could have had a nice shore lunch.:crackup:Just kidding. Thats a small calf for this time of year isn't it. That was a great thing you did for that calf.
  5. Yes it was the thumb screw.
  6. I used mine for the first time yesterday and had some good video going on a twisty road over in NY called Tracy road even almost ran over a ruffed grouse or partridge as we call them. Got on rt9 and was cruzing at about 70 and I saw something go flying over my sholder and by the time I relized what it was and had a good place to make a U turn I had gone about a 1/4 mile. I slowy rode back and looked for it along the side of the road and going both ways several times to no avail. I parked the bike on the side and walked back and forth corvering both sides of the road and couldn't find it. I had met one car and the only thing I can think of is that it stayed in the road and the car stopped and picked it up before I got a chance to turn around and go back. I was on the brow of a hill so I wouldn't have been able to see them do it. I might go back and look one more time a little farther off the road. It was just the camera part that came loose from the holder.:mad:
  7. :rotf:Taling them off has never been a problem for me either.:rotf:
  8. Calm down guys it's not what you think. I got my tank bra from Troy Savoie and I deleted the email with the directions. It looks pretty simple but mainly wondered if you use any type of adheasive. Looks like you take the existing trim on the bottom of the tank and replace it with the new trim.
  9. I used to scrape the boards on my LC1500 quite often and it still startled the crap out me every time I did it.
  10. There's one for sale on ebay. Go to the home page and scroll down. Cheap Sorry looks like it's gone.
  11. I was told by the dealer that the first service and the 26k service need to be done by a qualified Yamaha mechanic in order not to void the warranty. Normal service ie oil and filter change ect that if I keep the receipts that was good enough. Different dealers may differ in this so I would check with the dealer. I hate taking my bike to a dealer because it always seems the next time I clean it there is a new scratch.
  12. Can't wait to see them. I need some long sleave shirts anyway. Mine will have to be made by Omar the tent maker though lol.
  13. Ok I'm new to these bikes but bikes is bikes. What Tom is saying sounds like a winner to me. On my LC1500 it did the same thing and a lot others. So I would say it is something to do with the head nut also. Might need tightening. On the LC it was because they used cheap bearings and they would fail. We would replace the head bearings with Timken bearings. Not sure I spelled that right. After that no more wobble.
  14. I would like to be on the list. Not quite sure how you are doing it but here is my addyDonald Sisters Po box 62 Ferrisburg Vt 05456Thanks
  15. She could probably handle a Boss Hoss after all it's only a 454.
  16. Sounds like a dead battery. If you have been starting it and not running it for long it takes a lot out of the battery and so a good way to confirm this is to jump from a good battery but dont have that vehicle running. If you think the cables are clean, clean them anyway.
  17. Now that's funny.
  18. I usually wait until the first week in November because by then I'm into the duck hunting heavy and deer hunting is just a week or two away.
  19. I hear you. We had 3" of the white stuff up on Mt Mansfield already. What happened to Indian summer?
  20. I feel the same way about my new RSTD. At first it took a little getting used to coming off a Suzuki LC1500 which sits low and all the weight is down low. I have now gotten used to the difference and find this bike handles very well in the corners. I too am having a hard time getting used to keeping up the RPM's. I don't know about the heat from the engine because we havn't had any since I bought it in early September. The power is great compared to my LC which had a stage 3 kit. This bike I will leave stock as far as the engine goes because it has plenty of power. The seat is uncomfortable but I had a Mustang on the last bike and have ordered one for this one. I don't think anyone has a comforatable stock seat. I am really going to enjoy this bike and will ride a little more this fall but with hunting season upon us not that much. Can't wait till spring.
  21. Coming back from a rally in Maggie Valley NC I ended up spending the night in Allentown as it was on I 78. I stayed at one of the big chain hotels don't remember but it was one of the Suites just off the interstate. There were a few resturants right there. By the way 78 had a section that was the worst interstate I have ever been on. I thought my bike was going to fall apart. I hope that they would have repaved it by now.
  22. If anyone is in that area I highly recomend the The Big Red Barn for their BBQ. Some of the best ribs I ever had and very biker freindly. http://www.thesummitredbarn.com/
  23. I used to hear all kinds of engine noises with my LC when I would be off touring somewhere a few hundred miles away and so I cured it by puting a fairing with a radio on the bike now all I hear is tunes. After hearing this bike I couldn't wait to get the fairing on because it has strange noises.
  24. Ok thats what I get for not reading all the posts first. I will be riding tomorrow though and would meet you for breafast if your going to be in Vt. Couple of sights to see are the Quechee Gorge On rt 4 then over to rt 100 north. Theres a place called Texas falls that is beautiful. Then continue up 100 to Waterbury for Ben and Jerry's factory tour. Then up 100 to Stowe, Ski capital of the east. Then take 108 over smugglers notch which is really cool. Just to name a few.
