  1. I got 23.
  2. Your just across the lake from me. Yes ice cream does help but I would rather be eating creamies.
  3. Parked Motorcycle syndrome.
  4. Make sure you don't get the universal grips. Ask me how I know.
  5. I had them on my old bike and loved them. My hands don't get that prickaly feeling like with the stock grips. Never had any problems with the old ones and so when I got this bike I bought a pair. Guy at the counter told me they would work. Took the left side off first and and put it on. Then took the right grip off and found out they wouldn't work unless I did some modifing. I had to grind down the plastic part under the old grip to get them to work but it worked.
  6. I went to look at one and sat on it and couldn't flat foot it. 30" inseam and saw the RSTD on the same floor and it was a brand new 08 so it was reduced in price and I liked it. Road it and bought it.
  7. Me in 2008 with my old bike a 03 LC1500 http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g51/hunter1500/IMG_0277.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g51/hunter1500/436900969208_0_BG.jpg
  8. I harvested a nice 150lb doe with the smokepole so I'm good to go. I have heard that reindeer are very tasty though.
  9. A couple times a week. I belong to a few other forums also.
  10. Yes Thanks to all the vets out there.
  11. I too was a Viet Nam era vet and never went but my work here in the states was very important and helped in the cause over there. I was in Military inteligence in the Army Security Agency. The information we gathered was vital to the military. Thank you to your wife and yourself and any and all the vets and servicemen. You all signed on the dotted line and were willing to put your life on the line in the defence of our great country.
  12. What a great weekend. I love it when a plan comes together. Next weeked our 16 day rifle season opens and I had a butt load of things I had to do and some things I wanted to do. Everything went well including changing from the mower on my JD to the snow blower. Last year not so. I had to clean up my DR leaf and lawn vacuum and put that away plus clean the mower deck and the mower. Also wanted to get in some fall turkey hunting as it was the last two days and yesterday I killed a nice 13.5 lb Jake and it was the best eating bird I ever had and I've shot about 40 birds since they opened it up here. After a great dinner I went on a nice ride as the weather was great for this time of year up here. All and all the weekend couldn't have been any better. I just hope next weekend in a good one.

    Tires

I have very few miles on the brickstones as we called them on anouther forum and so far they are alright. The trouble with them on my LC1500 is the front tire being a dual compound tire would cup and when they started doing that they would handle at all. I tried metz and hated them. Worst rain tire ever. Last set I had on it was one recomended by a lot of other owners. k555 on the rear and a 404 on the front and they handled great. The rear tire lasted about 8k but partly due to the way I ride. We have a lot of twisty roads here and I ride a little on the aggresive side. I don't really care how long the tire last as long as it has good grip in all weather conditions. This being said I will try the 404 on my first tire change and if I don't like them I will go to the Avon because it sounds like most here recomend them. So far I have no complaints about the Brickstones though time will tell. Just my .02
  15. Don't know that much about oil. Been using Shell Rotella in my last bike with good results. These bikes are much higher in RPM'S than a dozer I would think. Would this make a difference? Is Delo a synthetic oil?
  16. I toured with a group of bikers and we rode on the Chi Cheemaun ferry across Lake Huron to Manitoulin Island and we were the first on and first off and they had ropes to tie your bike down with. The ride was a 6 day tour and I didn't have a lot of extra room so I didn't take ratchet straps but it worked fine.http://www.ontarioferries.com/chi/english/index.html
  17. I used to put stabil in the gas and fog the cylanders and then the last few years I havn't bothered because I was told that it is so cold up here that you don't really need to do it. I also was told told that it is not good to start the bike and let it run for just a few minutes. I have followed this procedure and havn't had any problems but each to his own. jm02c
  18. Normal biker atire is fine. Some wear the PGR armband available at the PGR store. I wear my vest with the small PGR patch on the front.
  19. Do you remember the good old days when they could actually count your change back to ya. Most of these kids now a days can't even figure your change in their head.
  20. Got a nice ride in today myself. Only about 100 miles but nice none the less. That was after going duck hunting and getting a couple of nice mallards. Had to shoten my ride so I could come back and stuff and roast them. MMMMMMgood.
  21. I didn't think they made a 1st Gen RSTD.
  22. It wont hurt the battery to charge it on a trickle charge 1 or 2 amp for 6 to 8 hours. The charger I have tells you when there is a full charge in the battery. Depending on how long the battery has been sitting on a shelf they all lose a little of thier charge. Most batteries are made over seas now and are shipped here.
  23. Quite a few years ago I had just put a new tire on my bike and picked up a nail. Put a plug on the tire and ran it until it was as worn as any tire. As long as it is plugged right you shouldn't have a problem with it.
  24. Things like that are really strange and hard to believe. They have found proof that whales once existed here in the Champlain Valley of Vermont.
  25. OK I'm new here but not to MC forums and the same thing goes on, on any MC metric forum.I like all bikes and it's not the bike it's the rider and IMO if you can't take a little ribbing once in a while then you need to put your skirt on and go for a ride and find a pair.
