I can't beleive you guys are getting this kind of mileage out of a rear tire. I've never got more than 8k out of any brand of tire and I have tried a lot of them. I just replaced the stock tire on the RSTD at 5k. No tread left at all. I'm trying the Michelin Comander for the first time. I ride a lot of twisty road and I ride pretty aggressive and that may be why.

Just got off the phone with Yamaha North America and they won't have any more until august.

Do you have a radio with a jack that can accept Sirius or XM. I have one that has a plug just for the satalite radio and a Sirius tunner that is compatatable. Works great. Mounted the tuner in the sadlebag and routed the wires up to the fairing and into the radio. Other than the antenna you wouldn't even know it's there. Also has an aux jack for my Ipod.

Yes you are right. They are great to deal with. I bought my pegs from them and had the wrong size clamps, my falt and they let me send just the clamps back and exchange them. I got the Kury switch blade pegs and they mount there also. Will they interfear with the wind defletors?

From the looks of the radar I don't think you will see much today.

A lot of people liked the Metz on anouther forum for my old LC1500 so I tried them and hated them. On cold wet pavement I felt like I was riding on ice and didn't even like them on dry pavement. I switched to the dulop k555 on the rear and the 404 on the front and loved them. The bike never handled so good. I ride pretty aggresive and I wore the back tire out on the RSTD in 5k and just put the Michelin Comander on and so far I like it. I hate the brickstone and cant wait to wear out the front.

Had the sears one for several years and never had an issue with it.

What's the best route around New York?
hunter 1500 replied to johnny-canuck's topic in Watering Hole
+1 on this route. Take a little longer but the scenery is nicer and avoids the major cities. It's the way I go.- 9 replies

Sorry I didn't meet up with any of you guys. I road through the Canoe Island motel but didn't figuring if you guys were around you would see my bike but no one was around. Looked for Scooterbob in the campground and didn't see him either. Oh well maybe next year. Saw a ton of Ventures there. Also saw a Royal Star that was all decked out with nitrous and everything you could imagine. Will post a picture later.

I just spent 4 days in this tent in off and on rain all 4 days and never got wet at all. Very compact and goes up real easy. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20075-cat20103&id=0031756514266a&navCount=2&podId=0031756&parentId=cat20103&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QL&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20103&hasJS=true

Yes they should have plenty of sites left. It is a NY state park. Just north of Lake George Village on rt 9n. I'm not a drinker and will probably be downtown. I'm supposed to meet someone on Thursday at 5 pm in front of the Wax Mueseum in the center of the village. Not sure which way you are going but the nicest way is to cross Lake Champlain from 17 west on the free ferry then head south on ny 22 to Ticonderoga and take rt 9n to Lake George. If you are staying at the park you can avoid going through the village that way. Traffic is usually a mess during Americade.

Lobsters need to be alive. If they are dead they are no good. Just drop them in some boiling water and cook them for about 10 to 15 minutes. You can tell they are done when they turn orange. I get hungry just thinking about them. mmm Just crack the shells, slice the tail and dip them in butter and eat away.

Nice bike. Congrats on the new ride.

I'll second that. Riding in the catskills for a week last year I wore out a front tire that I figured was good for another 5k.

We rented an old farmhouse when we were there so I can't help you much with that. I know that the red barn is not far from Howe Caverns nothing fancy but great bbq ribs. The Cabana is the great mex restuarant that I mentioned here's a link. http://www.manta.com/c/mm5nkrf/la-cabana-mexican-restaurant The Sportsmans is another good restuarant near there. http://www.yelp.com/biz/sportsman-bar-and-grill-of-phoenicia-phoenicia These are all within easy riding distance and the roads and scenery is great. Get a ways away from the ski areas unless you want to pay big money.

I just installed mine about the same time and in the instructions they give you opptions to have the passing lights go out when you dim your headlight and that is what I did.

I see your from Williamsport. I was down that way a couple of years ago for a Memorial ride for a woman that died. Road to College park and had lunch at the Quaker State Lunch and Lube.

I spent a week down there riding in that area last summer. Great roads. Woodstock Museum is a must. Places to eat The summit Red Barn, The Sportsman, and there was a great Mexican resturant but I forgot the name. I'll look it up for you. Some other places to see are the Wing Castle, Howe Caverns and there is a waterfall on 23a that is very nice. Lots to see and do and like I said great roads. Here's a picture of the Mexican Resturant. It was really good. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g51/hunter1500/IMG_0245.jpg

Elecrical problem? Any Ideas?
hunter 1500 replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Try taking the ground for the battery where it grounds to the engine and cleaning it. Had this same type of problem with my last bike once and that's all it was. -
Has anyone heard anything on when they will be back up. I heard they were having server problems and were supposed to have it fixed by last weekend. I know there are quite a few members here and just wondered if there was anyone that knew anything.
