The ride up to Snowshoe is a great road. That's where we stayed. Like everyone else said it's hard to find a road that wasn't great. Lots of interesting things to see there. Check out my thread in the Picture section.

Went over the bridge three times and under it once last month down there on a trip. I wished there was somewhere to stop on it to take pics from the bridge.

Years ago a friend hit a partridge on a bike and almost knocked him off.

The last bike I had, had slash cuts on it and was pretty loud. I liked the way it sounded but I understand why people think it is obnoxious. This bike is stock and will stay that way.

I just joined the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association as a support member. Although I was in during Viet Nam I never went so that is why I'm a support member. Most of the guys are all in the PGR also.

Saturday I was riding with a group (6 bikes) on a trip and we were in Wilke-Barre PA and met a bike and the guy was waving to us and looking at our bikes and wasn't paying attention and slamed into the back of a car. Thank god it was in the city and he wasn't going fast. He lost a little meat on his leg and I'm sure he will be sore but was ok for the most part. The bike took a hard hit on the throttle and brake cables and lines and a few scrapes but wasn't to bad. We waited for him to get help and went on our way. He was awful lucky not to be hurt worse. The whole thing happeded right in front of me.

When I bought my bike I was at the dealer to look at the Kawasaki and I sat on it and couldn't flat foot it and didn't like that. Also wasn't crazy about the way the faring looked. I saw the RSTD siting there and checked it out and it was a 08 leftover and this was labor day weekend last year so it probably would have sat there for anouther winter. I bought it for $12,500 and they gave me 5k for my 03 LC1500 and that deal was to hard to pass up. I have about 12k on the bike so far and have made a few changes to make it fit me and love it.- 19 replies

Those look great. If nobody has a bag cover then maybe you could get someone with the bra to give it to you and you could use that patern to make one. Just a thought. -
I agree. They are great handling and it is hard to beat their quality but I think they are but ugly. JMO

I used to be stationed in that neck of the woods back in 73. Vint Hill Farms Station. I guess now it is a housing development. Was a nice place to be stationed.

Yes I remember those days when you would pull into a gas station and the attendant would not only pump your gas but wash your windshield, check your oil, and check the air pressure if you asked and put some in. Those days are long gone.

This is the very reason I'm leaving mine completely stock. This bike is fast enough without any mods anyway.

Just put a fairing on the RSTD and keep it. It's hardly broke in. Check out mine with the fairing. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41001&highlight=started+project

To bad you didn't post this a couple of months ago. I just put mine on. Would have bought yours and gave you the old turn signal bar.

Twice I have had stuff painted that were color matched by profesional paint shops and it didn't match either time. Most people didn't even notice until I told them but I did. This time I bought the paint and reducer from color rite and had the paint shop use his clear coat and it is a perfect match. Maybe have a profesional do it makes a difference.

Just buy a Goldwing. I think they have a built in espresso maker. All kidding aside I just use the old fashion percolator.
