I'm still waiting on instructions on how to bleed clutch cables and brake cables. For the life of me I can't figure it out.

Thanks Don, I had a hard time finding the Carbon one lift when I went to buy one last winter. It would certainly make it easier if you had a place for these vendors. By the way I love the lift.

Just sold them to a guy with a Venture and also sold the weights. $70 for everything including shipping.

Don't Try this Kiddies. Not nice Border Guards.
hunter 1500 replied to mrich12000's topic in Watering Hole
In 2007 I went with 17 other bikers to Canada for a trip around Lake Huron and I was very easy crossing back and forth. We never got hasseled once and in most cases we just had the leader of our group tell them what we were doing and then we just showed them our papers and off we went. We crossed back and forth twice. The guy in the first video brought it on himself by first saying "What difference does it make" He should have said I'm not sure of the exact store because we will probably vist more than one ore somethin along that line. Anytime I deal with LEO type people I find it is best to humor them and say yes sir and no sir or mam. -
I changed to the flanders handlebars and it was suggested that I change the lines. I don't see a big difference but there is some in the braking. The job was not that hard but it takes time. Probably about 3 to 4 hours start to finish to change both the handlebars and the lines. I would suggest using a mityvac or some other type of pump to drain the lines and to refil the lines. It made it much easier.

I just changed my tire the other day and I love the adapter. Make sure you use ratchet straps to secure it.

Looks great. What did you do with the rear wheel? Looking to possibly buy one to try a darkside tire on it.

I got the same virus last fall and ran malwarebytes twice and got rid of it but it was not easy.

+1 Nice bike though.

I don't think the bike is ment to be a two up bike. It's a solo bike IMO. My RSTD is a solo bike and most everything I added on is already on that bike ie satalite radio, fairing. I also like the instrument panel a lot.

I think any thing new you see from Yamaha will be a big V twin. I would like to see them put the V max engine (tuned down for better gas milage) in the Venture and a RSTD type bike but I doubt that we will. Most people want that V twin sound like the Harley. I like the RSTD and will keep it for a long time but if this bike had been out there I would have looked hard at it.

I like the looks of this bike and it has everything I would need. I tow a trailer and don't need the trunk and I think they are ugly anyway. The only thing I don't really like about it is the bags. What do you all think? http://newproductlaunch.kawasaki.com/Products/PhotosLarge.aspx?ProductId=495&PhotoId=140903&featured

My MityVac worked great. I can do the job alone and there is not as much of a chance of getting the fluid on the paint.

You will have to shift down to get power but once you do it has plenty. I road mine for 5 days in WV in the twisties and the bike handled very well and I only scraped a couple times. I could scrape a lot if I didn't take the corner right. I was following an FJR and a couple of LC1500's and had no problem keeping up.

They were selling those for about a grand a couple of years ago.

Bought mine from Sears for 24.95. Used it to change all the brakes lines and clutch line. It's not the top of the line but you only use it maybe once a year. This is the model I got. MV8000 Automotive Tune-up and Brake Bleeding Kit made by Mityvac.

Hello from a potential new owner
hunter 1500 replied to Sean's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Bought my 08 RSTD 13 months ago and have about 13k on it and love it so far. I have short arms and had to change the handlebars but other than that the bike is great. Lots of power. I paid 12,500 for mine a year ago. -
I would leave at home but then I would never carry one to begin with. I used to carry when I was making deposits.

Just got my carbtune from Morgan and will be attempting this soon.

Evaluation of a Yamaha FJR 1300 and a Honda St 1300
hunter 1500 replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Watering Hole
A friend has both and he likes the FJR hands down. Cager wrecked him on the ST and he went and tried the FJR and bought it. -
Tried to order a Michelin Comander yesterday and they are not available for the rear right now. I have about 8k on the back tire and probably could get another 2k but dont want to take a chance with it so I ordered the Elite 3 so I will now have them on the front and back. They are about $30 more so I hope they last longer.

Just once doing a u turn on a narrow back road. First time I attemted one on a narrow road. No damage. Not easy to pick up alone.

I had one stolen years ago. It was a jean jacket with lining in it. Left it on the bike while I was in a restaurant. It was cold and I had to ride 1 and 1/2 hours home without one.
