I was there Tue night thru Fri am. I also test road the Victory cross country and loved it. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it. I rode the blue one with the tour pack and high windshield. Road the Stratoliner and it handled well and had lots of power but I really didn't like it. Rode the Vaquero and really liked it except for the brakes. It would be a toss up between it and the Cross Country. I also rode the Streetglide which had plenty of power and handled nice but I felt cramped up on the bike. For what it costs I wouldn't buy one. All in all my RSTD fits me better than most of them.

I feel naked without one. I did however go without one at Laconia during bike week but never went more than 20 mph.

Oil filter brand
hunter 1500 replied to Galapagos's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I use the Emgo filter. It's supposed to be one of the better ones. Shop about 200 yards down the road carries them. -
I bought mine from the same company. I bid 1200 on it and won. Only difference is mine is all diamond plate. I'm very happy with mine.

305 Chev - Boat I/O - I could use some help.

Had this same thing happen to me. -
You were very lucky. I keep it in the back of my mind to try to not swerve and keep the bike upright and ride it through but I'm not sure I could do it.

I added the Wide Open Custom fairing to mine. I had it on my LC1500 before with the brackets made for it. It was easy to convert it over to fit the RSTD. I did it more for the music then anything else. I really like it and it does offer quite a bit more protection. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41001

rear end noise
hunter 1500 replied to Godlover's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I had like a clicking noise and had just changed the rear tire and came on here and found out that when you change the tire you need to loosen up the bolts put the wheel on then tighten them. Problem solved. -
Glad to hear everything worked out and it was covered under warranty. Loose battery cable can definitely cause a backfire. Been there done that.
-
Thanks for the reminder. I knew they would need changing this year when I replaced the rear tire last year but had forgot about it. Just odered them from the local shop.

I got thier Jennsen stereo and added a sirius tunner and it works great. I've had that set up since 2007 and it has worked flawlessly. When you get in the mountains you loose signal sometimes but it also has a jack for an ipod so I just turn that on. What else can I say. I love it.

My guess is we will see a Victory power plant and drive with a Indian frame. GE also just invested in Polaris heavily so they have the capital.

I did the same thing. It's hard to find the right one. A marine store is the best place I found.

where can I find a good harley site like this
hunter 1500 replied to heatonmt's topic in Watering Hole
Try the one on Delphi Forums. The RK sight is run by a really good person that I met a couple years ago. Mocc -
I mounted one on my bike. It was easy to make the fairing work. I took off the rubber mounts on the top and the fairing fit perfectly. Then I made some brackets to go from the fairing to the rubber mounts on the bottom. The brackets to mount the lower deflecters was hard to make. I had a lot of hours into them because the material was hard to cut. Here is a link to the project. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41001 I took this fairing off my LC1500 and thats what the brackets were for.

I get about 40 mpg and if gas was a $1 higher that works out to $250 for the whole year as I normally put about 10k on a year. So I wont really make a difference in how much I ride.

I'm pretty sure that one of the problems was the rear cyl overheating. They make a sheild so that it doesn't burn your leg.

We were told at the last CVMA meeting not to even put our Vermont battle flag with 26-2 on the back. It is ok to have it on the front but not the back with the CVMA patch.

Kinda pricy in Lake Placid. You could see it in a couple hours. Ski jumps are cool and the scene of the miracle on ice. The route to and from is the good part. Very nice scenery.

My Fairing W.I.P

Looking good. Did you use the factory paint from colorite? -
If it were me I would take RT3 from Watertown NY over through Saranac Lake and then 76 to Lake placid. Then through Keene and then over to Crown Point where they now have a ferry instead of a bridge. From there you can take rt17 over to rt100 and from there to rt4 over to NH and to the Kangamangus highway.

Brought tears to my eyes. We have a mission today that I cant make because I couldn't get out of work. But that is the way it is you make the ones you can.
