The pipes seem to look good not black and smutty. How can I tell if it is running rich? The bike runs well and I'm getting around 40mpg.
-
I have smelled it since I got the bike. I rode it home 200 miles and smelled it then. I have only owned it for a short time around a month and have ridden it several times. I checked the coolant today and it was between the low and full mark so I topped that off. It does not smell like antifreeze that sweet smell. I will look at the pipes better tomorrow I'm going to change the oil and look to see if there are signs of oil burned on the pipes. The bike has 14000 miles on it now.

That is a good question I will check that I did notice a small oil spot under the bike I looked but could not see where it was coming from. I wipe it up today and will be looking tomorrow to see where it might be. Is there a know oil leak on these bike I can look for?

So I have a smell after I have been riding for a while not sure what is is maybe fumes from the carbs. It is not a raw gas smell but it is a smell like exhaust. I know this is not much to go on but its all I can say. The pipes look good when I look at them it is not running rich.

I saw a button on the rear speaker that said talk and another for adjusting volume. Dose the passenger have to push this to talk or is it fro the CB also? Thanks
-
I was told that I should have 2 outlets on my 03 RSV I see the one in the inner fairing where is the second one? Or is there another one? Thanks
-
So how do these work? Do you just pull the talk switch on the handlebar when you want to talk? And when the other person talks you just hear it? I'm new to these. How about wind noise is it bad? Thanks

So I am going to order a headset for my 03 RSV I see the J&M and IMC. The IMC is a cheaper unit is this one of those you get what you pay for? Cheaper is not the way to go? Is this headset a good one? JM-HS-8154B-OF Thanks.

I know the 03 that I just bought has one and I was thinking all RSV did until I saw a few pictures with out them. I wonder if it was a dealer upgrade or what?

So did all RSV's come with the pillow top seats? If not which did just wondering. Thanks

Drilling Stock Mufflers
Whitlow replied to Whitlow's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
So you drilled the holes on the side where it mounts to the header pipe how far is it to where you drilled? I have my mufflers off now and I did not see anything to drill on that side. HELP! -
I checked the tires they look good and I have no idea about the psi in the shocks. Is that the cause of this in most cases?
-
So how many haw drilled there stock mufflers to get a louder sound? How many holes? What size? ans where did you drill. The Sampson Fishtails are just a bit to loud but i could deal with it if I need too.
-
So I noticed today that when in a right hand turn at around 55 mph I got a slight wobble but not in a left hand turn. Any remakes on this? Thanks

Here is a link to the seat I'm talking about I know someone that wants to sell one but he lives to far away to check it out before I could buy it. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=42&Category_ID=1&manufacturer_ID=165&product_ID=3168

So I have seen a seat that Yamaha sold that I was told was a corbin seat but it said it sits you 3" taller I know ever corbin seat I have had was lower than the stock oem seats. Anyone out there that know anything abot this seat or the corbin seat for the RSV please post there opinion please.

Thanks Everyone it sounds like I have a nornal clutch for this bike.
-
Thanks Floyd! maybe someone will post how to for me. I bleed the clutch on my VTX1800 after changing the fluids. I had to pull the cover off and then just bleed the system. I did not need to replace the gasket on that bike.
-
Info on how to do this any where? Thanks
-
So my 03 RSV has 14000 miles on it now I just bought it a week or so ago. I noticed that the clutch lever is just about all the way out before the clutch starts to grab. I have owned 3 VTX 1800's and there clutches were different they started to grab before this one does. Is this normal for the RSV? Thanks
