    Hey guys i ve read all the search forums and nothing shows for raising the bike. Mine uis the 96 rs . the rear monoshock is horizontal so the leveling links wont work. my prob is that when I get to do some good turns I scrape on my floorboard as well as my year bottom pipe and braket. I am a heavy guys and have been through the shock settings. this is the one setting which feels best. Large holes are a bit rough at high speeds but 60 mph back road cruising is very comfortable. Now before i get people telling me not to treat it like a sport bike! My turns are far from saggressive. or who knows maybe they are . But my buddy with a 96 electra glide takes the same turns with no scrape. Same speed also. What can i do?

    So yesterday after looking at my outdoor parked Royal star for weeks in disgust. My paint doesnt have that showroom shine I see those harley guys have and yes my bike has 3 times the miles that thier do i still feel awful. I was reluctant to buy the mothers wax cause I am too cheap and at $13 I could buy 3 other bottles and get the job done. well that isnt the case. i have tried turtle wax, Ice, and a few other bike specific waxs liquid and paste. This one truly brought back that deep black showroom shine. the only thing that gives it away is the small rust spot and deeper scratches on the tank. The haze is gone and it feels amazing. the side untouched feels rough whiel the waxed sides is smooth. Sorry no pics yet guys because just as I was applying the second coat to the chrome on the side stand side . April showers began , just to make my day. Before and after pics to cme.     I have asked that question on many ocasions to the person listed on the ad and never get a response. 1 guy was pretty clever he responded that his golding was in florida at the time of the picture and he would rid eit up in 3 weeks and make the transaction but he wanted a downpayment to know I was seriousa about $7k for an 02 goldwing. I told him for that deal I would take the flight with him and complete the transaction in florida. he never got back to me

    Ok so flanders is the company an d what I am looking for is called beach bars. Thanks for the info I am on the site now . Will have to measure a few things also, I see a few on EBAY going for far less. maybe that will be an easier gamble.

    Awesome. I doo feel like Im too stretched out and at the end of a long ride I have a stiff neck. I was going to adjust the bars back a bit Butu the flanders bars look all to comfy. Where did you get yours from Jose

    i have been looking at road kings and softails and I love the way the bars are swept back. i thkn you call these california, or beach bars. there are a few royal stars that i have seen with these bars. is there a certain year that have these bars and does any one have exp with these bars. it looks very comfortable But id hate to spend teh cash for the bars and all the longer cables and wires and find out that it doesnt handle as well.

    My buddy has an old police cruiser and yes they do get off the line quicker but when they are ready to kick into second we are just getting into our power band.

    I too went riding with a HOG chapter. They were cool with me riding and I did get poked a bit but i made up for it in riding ability. Too bad our ride was cut short due to a huge pothole. 2 guys down and to the hospital they went. The 1st to lay it down was of little experience and when he went down the guy behind couldnt stop in time and ran into him. Both were breathing and concious. Still waiting on news of thier whereabouts. Sorry off track. The harley guys wanted to know why i was revving my engine so high. I asked him why his engine looked as if it wanted to jump out of the bike.

    Looking for a set of hwy bars that i can put leather covers on to protect from the wind. I have seen a few pics of royals stars with larger bars. But cant find them for retail.

    Seafoam is petroleum based so its like adding a small amount of oil to your gas. Not enough to smoke and foul up the plugs. Weve all used seafoam even with heavydoses the plugs should be fine. if in doubt Pull them out. Clean them with a wire brush and good to go. jose

    Have you tried calling your insurance company yet. I would have my insurance company call the insurer of the burnt building. Thier fire caused damage to you bike so they should be liable. Its like If I run my rain gutter in a way that the water leaks into your basement and floods it out, My insurance will have to cover your damages.

    I feel lucky no one has replied. Lube yer seat and it will get rid of all squeaky object befor eyour first stop.

    It akk depends on what you paid for them. If you paid hafl the doubled price of cheap ones Id say you got your moneys worth. I have a trick that allows me to get more miles outta my bike. Very simple so pay attention. here it goes. DONT STOP!!! Find roads with no lights and just keep going.

    I say you start thinking about your excuses now and get them prepped and memorized. ( I like to take it easy) ( Sure you can accelerate fast , but keep your speed up for 12 hours) This is a mans bike, I treat it with respect and in turn it respects me)(:backinmyday:My wrist hurts)

    I have a tom tom one for my car and one for my work truck. i hate leaving home without them. I am soon buying a mount for the bike., You have the ability to get lost and pick different route if the screen shows that they look promisiing and no worrie. You just hit your destination and it reroutes it instantaniously. great fro exploring nice roads. then when you get home you can download you trip on to the PC and either highlight some roads or just have a log for the day.

    I just purchased the throttle rocker to aleviate some numbness in my hands due to keeping th efingers in direct path of the wind. Today will be the first tyry at 32 degrees and hwy miles being put on. Im curious why the throttle lock and the rocker. i wanted the TL but i already paid for the rocker.

    Its very easy to drink the cool Aide. how many of you go for the no name brand oil filter on your machines. I may use a different brand but I like to stick with the top of the line filter in whatever brand I use. Id like to see the vid yamaha makes for letting you kow that thier oil, lube,helmets and gloves are superior. i love my yamaha bike but I bet everycompany can tell you thiers is the best.

    Ok Guys No miracle here. Not posting a way to change tires or fix flats with spray lube. I just went over the whoel bike spraying everything that moved, pivotted or slid on something. I didnt realize the throttle snapped back so fast and the sidestand actually goes back without having to guide it along. The throttle thing i wasnt expecting. i used to be able to let go of the throttle and scratch my nose and return to the throttle without bleednig off too much speed. Now I let go and it nearly jerked me off my seat. I plan to go over it once more andsee what else I should lube.

    I love how my bike sounds. I thought it was loud till a crotch rocket pulled up next to me with an annoying fart can. My buddy with the harley says he hears a knocking in my pipes. I poke him as well and tell him that hes not hearing well due to the harley s frequency intefereing with his hearing aide.

    I am still fooling around with the shock settings. I am having a stiff ride now but I have more ground clerance. On my last ride I was planning to soften if up for the next 50 miles but i never did. next long ride I will change them between stops to see the difference. I just may not be used to the bike yet with only 300 miles in.

    My buddy has used 4 pair of street shinkos and they are cheap enough that he only wants that brand for dirt tires. He has jshinkos on his cbr 1000 now and hes not easy with that beast. he has claimed quicker wear but I was convinced to buy a set. i am taking off the new brickstone up front and installing 2 new shinkos. id like to see how many miles I get outta them because I am not an iron butter. The tire may last 2 seasons, and if anything else last longer I dont like old tires on my bike. the rear tire it has now was installed in 2002. but the PO claims the tire is brand new( HOLDS AIR and not the the wear bars)

    A shock extension sounds interesting. But what I got out of this is that either way you change the tire not only will handling change but bike charecteristics. So getting a narrower rear wheel may help in cornering but will lower my ground clearance. oh well i think its back to stock for the old girl.
