  1. And please wear eye protection. Those cutoff wheels sometimes explode and go flying like shrapnel of a grenade.
  2. Ever tried to wave when you are in a nice lean and hit a pothole that upsets the balance?? Not pretty. As siad ealrier manyreason for the NO WAVE. I still believ that top reason is because it wont look cool.
  3. A guy on a harley yesterday pulled over to see if I was ok when I was just looking at my phone .
  4. No they should have thier own bit with a washer and a screw at the end. You can get larger bits for larger drums and diamond cut off wheels that work very well on cutting metal bolts. and making slots on stripped screw heads. I miss Mine. I had it for 5 years with the magnetic light. the work light would turn on with the revolution of the motor. I was damaged in a flood and I never replaced it.
  5. I want to turn this around and ask you why it bothers you so much that theyd dint wave? I wave most of the time and if I get no response i go about my buisness.I also hold doors for people that dont say thank you and always stop at crosswalks for elderly people to pass. You are a gentleman as I believ I am. Go on about your buissness. 1 other thing. I think if the women would have waived they may have gotten a beating at thie destination.
  6. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh221/muaymendez/IMAG0235.jpg Will the angle of the bars cause problems with the feed of fluid for the brake and the clutch?? http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh221/muaymendez/IMAG0236.jpg
  7. Having a nice ride today , I start getting anxious because it was beginning to rain , and I didnt want to get caught in it. I dont mind rain but after 4 hours of riding I was too lazy to throw on rain gear. There was a car in front of me going way slower than the speed limit ( WARNING #1) He tapped the brakes a few times while comming up to intersections ( WARNING # 2). He puts his left turn signal and gets close the the yellow lines ( WARNING WARNING DONT DO IT) I proceed to squeeze past his right side just as I was passing his rear bumper I notice teh right turn signal come on!!!!!! I only had 2 feet between the car and the curb and I decided to hop the curb. i was pissed for a second at his attempt at assassanating me but then realized I was the one at fault. He let me know 3 times that he was gonna hurt me and I didnt listen. This time it ended nicely and I got home safe but I may not be so lucky next time. I know better than that! I guess i needed a refresher course. What was I thinking
  8. I thought all mc oils wer for wet clutches but i guess harley transmission oil is apart from its engine oil,. I still have a container downstairs I will check. As i was looking at some stuff today though i think I may have found one of my problems. the clutch fluid was not that black weeks ago. it was dark but acceptable I guess. Well today i looked at the sight glass and it was muddy. I opened it up and drained that muddy fluid from the system. Why was it so muddy. How did it get so dark in aprox 2 montsh time. The bike was sitting for a season befor wI purchased it this year in march. Anyway clear fluid in and the feel is better. Lets see how it feels on the road.
  9. Motorcycle specific. Oil from valvoline./ i bought it because it was on sale. I would have just put in rotella 15-40
  10. I think that was your egonometer. It measures the size of your ego and tells you when to back it off.
  11. Sorry its passed my bedtime and my mind is working slower. I corrected it i think
  12. Damnit. I did my buddys clucth with the parts from shydoc_17 and all went well. . Well 2 weeks later I was riding my bike to my sister in laws house and the dang thing slipped in 5th gear while trying to pass, then again in 3rd gear but only when at high speed and trying to gain more speed at high rpm. I can take off from a light and blast through the gears with no problem. COme to think of it i just changed my oil to 20-50 valvoline MC oil.Whats going on?? Guess I got enough practice on his bike and now time to do my own.
  13. The only thing I dislike about my Camaro is that it is not a Corvette. Sorry for the abrasive sarcasm, but if you keep comparing you will never truly appreciate what you have. I had a goldwing for quite sometime and remember the wingers complaning about the foot control placement, the tires. timing belts, frequent valve adjustment and, carb synching more frequent than on our bikes. I noticed a big difference in bikes and would love to have both of them but I cant. Enjoy your ride or serch for wha you want. It will be way cheaper to ride a wing than try to mold your venture into a wing.
  14. In a pinch A C Clamp will break the bead of the tire a new valve can be aqquired at any local tire shop a lil spit and presto new valve in place. A valve core tool will make seating the bead much quicker. In my emergency bag I carry plugs reamer valve core tool valve cores and 1 extra valve. Its not crazy because all this fits in the size of a wallet. Ive had to replace one valve. Although at home I replaced it in the driveway with only the tools I had on me. The C Clamp I ahd to get in the shed but if on the road ahardware store can supply this. Best of luck. Jose
  15. I Know I have seen custom harleys and choppers with all the controls and hoses hidden inside the bars . Does anyone know how that works or how involved that is. is it possible. Even if its only throttle and electrical and leave the hoses alone.I want to see more of the bar and less clutter.
  16. I replaced the risers with 6 inch risers. The bars are nice and high now Just at the limit of the hoses but the bars are meant for lower positioning and therefore has the hand positions up and toward the center which is real uncomfortable when up high. Found a guy with wide glide bars that i will be picking up tommorow and see how that feels. Will take a picture saturday when its light out and post here.I may have to lower the risers by 1 inch which should be simple to do with a band saw. I really didnt want to spend the extra cash on apehangers so Im going with risers.
  17. No its not the same. Min e is mounted as GUNKYLUMP said . A tounge in the front which doesnt secure to anything and a tounge in the back that bolts onto the rear fender. Seat tilts flops and I doubt it is safe for a passsenger Calperin I do have the sissy bar and back rest. I will have to take pictures to see what I am missing
  18. That is some great looking grass. Not a weed in sight. I think I see water lillys though
  19. I did the search and looked on the venture classifieds . I cant find anything on longer brake and clutch hoses. I think i remember someone on here selling steel lines. Wonder if they can be made longer? I want to rasie my bars . And the risers I like are 6 inch. I hope it will fit without the extended hoses but I like to be prepared.
  20. My 84 gold wing had a problem. I let her sit for 1 month and the fuel leaked into the crankcase. I realized when The bike hydrolocked and dindnt want to crank with the starter button. i pulled the plugs checked the oil and saw that theoil wouldnt even coat the dipstick as usual. I dumped 3 gallons of fluid from the cranckcase.
  21. I love me some MGD!!
  22. Hey guys. I have never given the pass seat a second though but The weather is getting better na dmy wife and daughter are wanting to ride with dad!. the pass seat on mine is mounted with one screw at the tail but this is not enough to keep it secure. the seat still moves to the left and right. Is there something that i am missing or is it that the rubber grommets under the seat are compressed and need to be replaced. While working on my buddys venture i noticed his seat had a whioel different bracket to mount to.
  23. I filled mine on sunday and was under the bike changing the oil . I smelled gas and sure enough there was gas leaking from the overflow tube. Just from a lil heat from the engine and the sun beating on the tank. They have a vent for a reason, I actually have the plastic neck cover bubbled up. Looks like someone left the tube off and the vent allowed fuel to leak onto the plastic.
  24. So i decided to do the responsible thing and buy my wife her birthday gift 3 weeks early. I wanst to happy with the Idea but i did it anyway. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices. I bought her a new 42 inch LED TV. I kow i know . What a guy some would say, But i think its part of being a good husband. Its about not being selfish and thinking of her first.:crying:Ill get over it!
