  1. You can always rent them to me. Maybe a few rentals will make your money back
  2. Pot is stirred! My co worker just rode his 2006 ultra classic. He just got it and says it has an enormous amount of power. This is from a guy stepping up from a 750 shadow. Of course there is alot more torque! It is beautiful though
  3. Why not? If it's android it should work. I have it on my samsung , smart phone. Cool that it still maps the route even at points where I lost signal
  4. Goodride , setup by all-state is an app that allows you to record your route and save for later or share with friends. I have my first ride up there. Only 170 miles but it was fun
  5. Thanks for the info. I figured as much on the pipes. I am taking the pipes to have a sedition of pipe added. As far as the mufflers, I have a set of harley pipes sitting in my shed.
  6. Did 157 today before needing reserve. I did do a lot of 80plus riding 2up.
  7. I see that I commented on this post in 2011 with a rstc now I have a 99 venture abd ib am getting approx 42mpg. I ride till 178 miles and I was getting nervous that I never put the petcock back to fuel from res. ....nope it was good. I pulled into the gas station at 178 and put 4.2 gallons. Floats set at 8mm, valves done, New plugs( not iridium) .pms set at 2 1/2 turns.getting decel afterburn, but I think that is due to a leaky exhaust
  8. So I learned today that I do have a rev limiter contrary to my belief. I throttle stuck open as I almost dropped her in a parking lot. If I didn't call enough attention with "whoa whoa WHOA" the. " yeng yeng yengyengyengyengyeng of the engine sure let people know I was in distress
  9. Hey guys. My bike has been having a deck backfire issue fir some time. It started and got worse on a280 mile ride. I tried everything and just 3 days ago the opposite side of the backfire started getting pretty loud and raspy. Today I find out the muffler is not attached to the pipe but just hanging there. What are my options? I have a set of beat up road king pipes but bike is not in pristine condition so I'm ok installing them. My question is. Is the pipe totally round at the point? (My goldwing wasnt... what a PIA) Second question. There are 10mm bolts on bottom of pipe. What are they there for?
  10. I found it. It's leaking at the muffler joint.
  11. I started the bike today abd set the pms 1/4 turn leaner and I heard a rasspy sound. Yep. Exhaust leak. Unfortunately it's on the wrong side of the pop but I'm getting more pops now. So to find this leak, abd loosen and re tighten the exhaust.
  12. My decel popping may be exhaust leak after all. I have been messing with pilot mixture screws for 2weeks to try abd solve this issue. Today I got popping in the right pipe but raspy sounds from the left. I put my hands around the exhaust, I can't feel where tge air is escaping but I hear it clearly when throttling up. Very evident from left side. In searching for leak I noticed the left grab rail has worked a screw loose and my right front highway peg has a screw that is backing out. Where should I start looking? It was not apparent this morning when I parked it at work. Tonight I hear the taspy sound of exhaust leak
  13. Sounds Like a simple fix. But an 1800 and it should cure my rsv flex.
  14. I have felt this before with other bikes. My last bike, a kawasaki concours, would lean as far as you had the nerve to, at any speed. This baby , much like an 84 goldwing I had would lean well but if hit with any bump in the road the bike would be unsteady. It felt almost like leaning and straightening back and forth. I did notice a small amount of play in the bars. Nothing loose just a littleplay . Like bar flex. I wonder if it is my riding our the bike that oscilates this way
  15. Ok So Heartbeat has earned a lot of respect from me. Not that I didn't trust him, I just didn't want my only key to be away ,or worse yet ,lost in the mail. As many have read he altered his original offer abd cut me a key, just by looking at a picture. (Amazing). He shipped me 2 keys in case one cut didn't work. The key worked and had me jumping for joy. I now have to square away with him although he did this in good faith , for a member. A + member ......Heartbeat. Thank you.
  16. Why did I picture huge holes drilled into the side of a fuel tank?
  17. I have bumped off the rev limiter on my 96 but my 99 scares the hell out of me. It reved ans kepted going till I backed off. I was worried that like other parts of this bike the rev limiter may not be fully operational and I would blow valves trying to find the limiter
  18. So last night. I decided to set all pms at 2.5 in order to get to work on looking for an exhaust or vacuum leak. This morning no popping. I did get a few blubs on decel but no nasty explosion.
  19. Ok. I think I am going to remove the AIS and plug the houses coming from the cyl. The front ais is removed abd the rear want plugged. Im . Working in the dark here so removing it abd capping it can be a start to solving my popping issue
  20. Exactly my thoughts Niel thanks. I looked at that post on the mystery hose. I couldn't find where the hydrocarbons enter the exhaust pipe. Do you think after all that I have checked, those inlets would be a good educated guess? Im thinking right front cyl, since that is where the problem exist. Not surging or dropping when the caps of the vacuum port is removed. I synched it, but if there is a leak of some sort, I may have synched to compensate.
  21. Bike is still new to me. Backfiring issue. Ais in rear want plugged but front is removed. I'd like to know where the ais dumps into exhaust. Maybe I can find a leak there causing my backfire on deceleration
  22. There is a large hose by the oil filter with a wooden stopper on it. The 2 screws under the drivers floorboard are remove abd there is no unit there
  23. So I was looking for the front AIS and it is gone. it has been removed. The rear one is still there but I plugged it since I do not have the rear one. I connected that hose but now knowing that the front is removed I wonder where that hose leads to. My biggest issue is that the popping was not there unrtil I rode 280 miles up and down hill. It started gradually, which makes me think something came loose. Carbs are cleaned , floats set. I started the PMS at 2.5 turns and still get a nasty pop on decel.
