  1. My wife is a saint. She puts up with alot but after all my hand built kits, all my motors and all tools were replaced several times,i just can't look her in thr eye and say thst I will be spending money in this economy for a temporary fix.Like an addict. So like an addict I will find a way to get what I want and hide it. I may list a small cx2 heli here art a good price to grrrrr my savings for a car started. Does anyone have a well used nitro car looking to get rid of.?
  2. Id like to (sarcastically) thank you all for giving me my itch back.I have been into rc stuff for 18 years and sold all my airplane stuff when I bought my first home.No flying fields nearby, ama is so darn expensive anymore. In the last 5 years I have went from rc truck to car to heli to air planes and have lost a ton of dough everytime I sell them. Well this thread has started an itch.Tge problem is I will have to buy a used one and lie to the commander.Ill have to say I picked it up really cheap. So this forum is semi directly to blame for me lying to my wife.
  3. It must be hell trying to get around traffic.Sure its fast but those wings will scrape when leaning tight into a turn
  4. My jetta makes noises oin thst cold.Sounds like a small diesel. All the rubber is not pliable in thst cold. Ball joints, bushings, suspension fluid, belts are stiff, and oil takes longer to reach top of motor. For the 1st 30 minutes driving I try not to go up and down grades rapidly to avoid writing the suspension harshly.Same goes with steering or driving everytging is smooth and slow until she warms up.
  5. If they are stuck that bad.It may bee time for new hoses. I can see thr hoses not bending easily but if they are not coming off they may be stuck sure to previous heat. A scribe to lift a small edge enough to fit a straw of a spray lube should help.
  6. Thr specs are amazing for a kit plane.I wonder if that falls under light aircraft or sport. I think you can aqquire an endorsement with as lil as20 hrs flight time for sport pilot. Faster and much more range than any sport VFR aircraft I've seen. Hey flying fool all you need is 4 more crazies like us and you can get in for as little as 25k.Provided one of the crazies is good with his hands
  7. I have had a great year with all of you.Learned so much and even accepted a tool loan to do my valves.Great bunch of guys.I think I will renew my membership early.
  8. My buddy has decided to clean his carb ai showed him last year.Problem is he lost the seat that goes under the main jet.Its thr one thr vacuum needle slides into.It can be seen through the venturi on one carb but not the other. The bike is a Johnny pag chopper and from all the info I can gather on the carb.It is Sheng Wey (Keihin copy)26mm vacuum type carb. Much like thr ones on the old gold wings I had.I need to find a replacement for this part.I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction our better yet, if someone has a parts carb than can part with this item if size matches.Any Ideas Would be appreciated. I wasnt to get him back running again.I've been holding on to his carb for 5 months now. Thank you in advance
  9. I had avons ok my 84 wing and loved the wat the bike handled. This 96rstc had a worn rear and a new front BS.....ooops I mean Bridgestone. I didnt feeeel good enough about the rear so I replaced it with stock after the first 100 miles.I hate the way it feels like its sliding in the twisties and the rear has been locked up a few times in the 6000 miles I have owned her. I can't afford to replace new tires nor can I convince the wife. So I'm trying to each up the miles in order to change them
  10. So I'm in conclusion.Stopping for a gallon of petrol was a good idea.I gather from the post that the fuel light should come on before our just as I need to switch to reserve. My light didnt come on. At least I learned that I can easily go 40 on reserve. When I first got the bike I had my touring buddies stop at 120 while they still had plenty of fuel. Now I hang with them till 160 before planning for fuel.
  11. The part of the story where thr blonde thought your computer was down reminds me of my wife.I preform oil changes in my driveway to save cash abd know what oil ang filter are going in and the next morning she wakes up to a flat abd says iBROKE her car.Next time she will pay some shop to do it because it they break it they should fix it.Mind you I plugged the tire as well
  12. Did the light come on?
  13. Living in a one income family with 4 children, I have sacrificed alot to get my bike.My cash for riding is limited so every dollar counts. The bike,2 cars, snow blower, leaf blower ,etc my save 1.50 goes back into the jar for next weeks ride.If I exhaust my funds for riding I sit home ans watch tv. For the remainder of the month
  14. This is why I got nervous.I was ok at thr 30 mile mark but then I knew i was reaching a section where many hills are and not as many gas stations.
  15. So when is the gas light supposed to go on.This is the longest ive ridden on reserve. Was I safe for a few more miles? Gas was so expensive today that I didnt top off so I dont know how many gallons I used. The weekend was great weather and I refused ti full up any of my vehicles with a30 cent hike per gallon.
  16. I don't understand the dirty part
  17. My buddy received a half used bottle off body wash.it smelled of flowers. Not aware of what happened until his wife received a half bottle of herbal esscence. His axe body wash container was reused.!
  18. The same happened at my place.Thr Mrs grew tired of complaining and just let me be
  19. Pm me your address.I have a beautiful orange sweatshirt I'd like you to have.
  20. Ok i answered a post asking what you recieved for Christmas so it sparked this idea. My bad gifts were A Zebra print Snuggie A Zebra print knit hat with tassles A Orange corrections color sweatshirt( For those times I may sweep the highway?) Expired chocolate, and a weather station? You connect the transmitter to the pc and the reciever shows you the weather on an LCD Screen. You have to have your pc on though which defeats the purpose of having this item . Who wants to trade some gifts?
  21. I finnaly got a pair of heated gloves. Gerbing T5s. They are awesome. I also picked up a harley police bike air seat. I tried the roadking seat and it didnt fit. Th solo air seat needs a little tweaking but its comming along nicely. And it is comfortable as hell. Plus I got a harbor freight welders mask. Not too mention all the crappy gifts like a shark knit hat with tassles( yes Im a guy) a zebra print snuggie and a corrections color orange sweatshirt.
  22. It s very easy to be a monday morning quarter back.I hate to put blame. What I will take from this video is a lesson. This can happen to anyone. The rider was having fun and the car in front was impeding this. You develop tunnel vision, and you want to accomplish one thing (get away from these slow pokes). I am guilty of the similar situation and I'm sure many of you are as well. Thanks for the reminder of keeping a level head
  23. I will take head of all ideas. I have flushed it this summer. Fluid is nice color clear as it should be. the brake calipers I have on the bike have 4 pots . I did not think this was an upgrade I just pulled them off to make sure nothing was stuck and both calipers have 4 pots. all moving in and out correctly. I lubed all pivot points which took away the notchy feeling . The plunger just seems to be really hard to go in. I dont have weak hands either I have a pair of meathooks . cant i dissasemble the master and reuse the seals. id like to see if any crud is in there. I had buildup on an old goldwing master cylinder. It did not cause this issue but i do remember the varnsish almost plastic film on the inside.
  24. I have been trying to navigate the site.Nothing mentioned on price.Any clues as to what it will set me back?
  25. I will try the sand paper method before saturdays ride.
