Imo you are correct.A heli is more complex and a better transmitter will save you $ quick. As for an airplane servo reversing, limiting and mixxing helps but not needed snd the extra channels are used more for scale modeling.Retracts, flaps, air brakes, and so on.The bomb hatch is rarely used but looks cool
-
I think it is cheap but the price its great for entry level. For those who want to continue can buy the more expensive radios later. No point in having an expensive transmitter when you won't be using all the options.
-
I think I may want to pick one of these up.
-
Ok was just turned off.it comes with a4 channel radio but its only a3 channel aircraft.1,throttle,2rudder-tail wheel , 3 elevator.no ailerons. Guys please read carefully, you r maneuvers will be very limited.no snap or barrel rolls.Next please

All this said I get a lil bummed that I have spent $600 at least twice.Flight line equip alone for glow engines will run at least $150 .glow fuel, ignitor, fuel pump, electric starter and battery. This electric looks like it could be lots of fun.

[quote name=" Thst was great.I thought about junkyard horns.I actually removed the horns from my camaro but they were so large and bulky really just awkward to mount. I will be searching the wrecking yards this weekend. Not crazy but enough to make someone think there is a vehicle larger than my bike honking.
-
Just dont have a clue where to mount it.

Seafoam in the Oil - - How Much?
muaymendez1 replied to Bobby G's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I was just gonna add this.My current bike will be getting it done soon along with sjydocs clutch upgrade but my 84 goldwing shifted like butter after seafoam in the crankcase. The difference is I changed the filter before adding seafoam and then I rode her pretty hard for 100 miles. The filter caught large debris. -
Thanks for the great replies.I really like the 4 horn idea and I was aware that I would need to wire through a relay.I just wanted the loudest most obnoxious horn even if it meant looking obnoxious. I am a truck driver butt I'm not a chronic horn blower.I blow the horn to get someones attention, my wife on the other hands uses it to express her issues with drivers around her. So one the swith and circuit a are protected power draw will only be need 1nce in a while. I have noter used my horn in months and just sunday someone didnt see me and couldnt hear me either, I ned to make this a priority

Thanks kieth,I dont like thst yipre of horn, bad boy, stengel. All the same. I something different.A real air horn or like an american car horn.
-
hey guys, My horn on my RSTC has bothered me since day one and I have not changed it because I have not found a replacement that I like. I dont like the bad boy type air worns, Does anyone have any experience with othe rtype of air horns. When i picked up my bike it had a Howards horn but it sounded like a keychain air blaster. My buddy's goldwing sounds like a chevy van. thats the sound I am looking for . i dount have the fairings or lowers so where would be the best place to mount? Under the saddlebags, By the radiator?

So all this talk has made me dig out my cx . its on thr charger. I'm really into airplanes. But I think due to space a heli would be more feasible. What turns me off is the crazy 3d aerobatics.Just as in airplanes. When in life does a copter fly in that manner. Its just not realistic to me. I will give it another shot I was looking at the Blade cp as entry level collective pitch heli. Any ideas of a step up
-
You make an excellent point which I overlooked. You do not know the condition of the batts.LiPo batts are very delicate and can be damaged by full discharge our over charging. The cx2 is considered indoor but I have flown in zero wind with no problem.A light summer breeze is fun when you are experienced but forget perfect flying. You spend more time fighting the forces. I do enjoy back yard flying because of the added space to recover from a bad move.As said earlier the smaller thr craft the more it is affected by forces.
-
$80 is actually a good price considering that each battery is worth $40. Its a good deal if you become good and want to fly for longer than 12.charge time is like 4 hours per battery
-
Thr cx2 blade e flight is a great step up. Still counter rotating main rotor but 4 channels. Forward, backward, bank left and right.throttle and tail rotor. You can get one used on ebay for about 50

thanks for the feedback guys. I realize I posted very little info on the mower and my plans for that matter. the mower is a rear engine type and has most of the mower parts taking off already. it is a 1972 fairway and parts are almost non existent. I picked it off free from freecycle and able to make it run but that's about it. even if it were working I doubt I would get 40 bucks for it. I don't plan on doing any racing and was just looking for a project my son and myself. he is 8 years old my other son is 5 and I am okay with them chugging along at 5 miles per hour this will be our first project, who knows maybe later will get into the big boys.

I have a ride on lawn mower in the backyard that I have been thinking of making into a go kart. I don't know the first thing about go karts but I would like to turn this into a father son project. I would like to start a photo album of the build. keeping track of what I spend and materials I use. I need help does anyone have any ideas.? since it is a mowee its it's pretty high I would like to lower the seating position but then will have to change the steering amgle.I will attach a photo when I get home . any ideas or links to website will be helpful

Servos are just the electric motors that are attached by links to control surfaces to make them move. The ones that come with the transmitter are a medium grade too bulky for light aurcraft and gliders but not strong enough for larger faster ones needing quicker stronger servos. the receiver is just the unit that relays your transmitter signals to the respective servo. You will usually by extra servos and recievers for each plane you buy unless you plan on removing it all . Rule of thumb is to buy the best transmitter you can afford because a good one can program trim settings, servo mixxing and proportional movent for each airplane/heli.A good one will be with you t hg rough many planes. Fm transmitters use crystals which give it its chanel. You can possibly have 10 airplanes in the sky at thee same time if each one is on a different chanel. My old club had a rule of installing batteries when you get to the field once verified radio was off and chanel wasnt in use. A board in center pit had all xhanels written on a clip. If the chanel clip wasnt on the board it meant someone was probably using it. The old timers with FM usually carry a few crystals so they could have a free xganel anytime.

Not all commercial airports have multiple runways. Commercial doesnt always mean larger. It just means that it is used to commercial purposed and not just general aviation. There are commercial airports that do not have the runway width or length for anything larger than a cessna citation( learjet type ) Flying a citation( learjet ) twin engine jet is easier to control if one engine failed than a 727. Think rear end as in a vehicle. The inside turning wheel rolls slower than the outside. therefore a 727 with one engine will need to use opposite controls to fight the forces making it turn into the down engine. So now you have to use more power /thrust to keep flying but deflection of control surfaces to keep flying straight. If your winds are high and you need full throttle you may have more throttle than delfection of control surface allows for straight flight. bad situation so VERY false. An airplane needs all of its engines for flight. One step further is if the above happens with a propeller engine. now you have tourque forces also adding to the mix.

Hated mine and also hated that they kept charging my health insurance a rental charge. Called them up and had them come get thier machine. Snoring is not my problem. Stress and anxiety are. I always have my mind active.

Any hot water heater experts here? Why would you want to heat your hot water???

Ok so I think I may have been a lil harsh.Noting what I dont like.So this post is stuff thst I like. The independent aileron servos, the 2.4 ghz radio equipment, and thr great price.I will be looking to see if they have sport class.I've been out of flying for years anf the esse of plug anf play with no noise is very attractive.
-
I really dont like the foam construction. maybe Im just used to balsa and monokote. great price to start learning though. just do yourself a favor and buy another set of wings. that battery will also be done in about 15 min flight time so just as you are getting good at flying to will have to call it quits for the day. Just observations

Who said pilots were smart? I was siting down outside thr airport going over some stall recovery drills.Watching all the landing and take offs. Here comes an older piper entering the wrong leg ,he notices and makes an aggressive turn to enter the pattern correctly. Uncontrolled airspace no radio which was legal but ticked us off. He comes in high and fast ,crabs to bleed off speed and altitude and slams onto the runway . The crosswind takes him into the dirt field. He runs into the bathroom , blows it up and runs back to his plane anf off he goes. Slinging mud all over the runway.
