Just received a stator upgrade kit from Earl. We shared a few PM's back and forth and he referenced posts on this site for help. Sent a starter rotor to Dano for modification and will do the entire job later in the year. Both Dano and Earl are top notch in my book.

Delay on Acceleration

Pete, My 86 had the same affliction. Thanks to the gang on here I began looking for a vacuum leak between the carbs and the engine. I found 2 or maybe 3, fixed them and all was better. Had to resync the carbs afterwards, made a big difference. Good luck!! -
I have been looking at one on ebay that is in South Dakota. This a Motorvation Formula II that is nearly identical to the one I have on my 86. They are a great car with a lot of room. They are still produced in Sibley Iowa and parts and information are readily available. One good feature is that the Formula II provides a wide wheelbase and it is a heavy car. Both features are helpful to a new sidecar pilot; less chance of lifting the car and they track well. There is a link below to the ebay listing. Good luck!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Formula-II-sidecar-/140825401827?hash=item20c9d919e3&item=140825401827&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
