  1. No thanks, it wont happen, I'll wait to see what the 3rd Gen looks like (If one appears.) and if looks like a 2nd Gen (Not that they are bad bikes just not for me.) I'll defect from Yamaha and I'll get a BMW K1200LT. :stickpoke:I'm with you Yammar DAN.
  2. Same here your email not working

  3. Im not sure what your exact problem is? Is it air?
  4. Thats a nice 1990 you have.
  5. I found this in Walmarts auto section the other day.
  6. Yes, I did, not that hard. I left the rear proportioning valve on plugged the front outlet on the porportioning valve with a bolt. Removed the brake line and metering valve to the front. I also used Yamaha R6 front brake calipers and I used a GSXR 600 Suzuki master cylinder to power the brakes ran a double banjo bolt off the master. In hindsight I think I should have used a tee fitting instead of the double banjo bolt off the main, This is because of the limited space between the dash and the handlebars I have on my bike which are Kawasaki Voyager Handelbars. I also had to measure up for new brake lines which I used plastic coated SS Lines. I also used EBC HH pads on the R6 calipers. Stops better then it did stock with linking. I am going to try switching the position of the rear brake on the proportioning valve to see if I can get more stopping power out of the rear w/o locking up the rear brake. I love fiddling myself.
  7. Having experience with several Harleys I'd rather have a 2nd Gen and thats coming from a 1st Gen nut. Harley is also recalling many 07-08 bikes due to fuel line problems. A friend of mine has his new Ultra Glide with just about every option you can put on it numbered paint job, Harely radar detector,Harley Gps which felloff while he riding, every LED imaginable I think he has 40G's in this bike total and then he trailers it to Sturgis. Whats the point I guess to look good I'd rather ride a bike then look at it. The only Harley I would consider is the Road Glide if they put the Vrod motor in it.
  8. Make sure you dont have any fluid in the carbtune line I had this happen at the restrictor fitting and the carb tune would indicate no vacuum.
  9. Yes it is I think Wild Bill is buried there with Annie Oakley I think.
  10. Yes it is Mk 1's are easy to find but not MkII's
  11. I was looking for any info on a possible successor to the Venture and found this http://www.gizmag.com/yamaha-set-to-release-worlds-quickest-motorcycle/9424/ its about the new Vmax but at the very bottom of the article a Spanish moto mag is reporting a "New touring version with a huge fairing for the U.S." whatever that means could be anything from a 2nd Gen look to a Victory Vision look, went to the article but its in Spanish and since I dont "Hable" I couldnt read it. Can anyone read it and report back? Possible 3rd Gen maybe?
  12. Scooter sales are way up according to a local dealer. Harleys hurting too local delear was saying competing dealers were selling $1500 below sticker. Why pay $20,000 + for a bike that doesnt get much better mileage then a car unless your really into them. Lots of job losses fuel and other items getting nickel and dimed to death many people dont have the money to spend. Be interesting to see if they emphasize scooters like car companies to smaller cars. Be interesting to see if a 650 or 750 will be the "big" bike like in the days of old.
  13. My local NAPA had it for $6 and change for a can.
  14. Its called the "Joint" in the water pump section of the parts microfiche. I had this happen and it sucks. Low side crash and the crash bar takes out the plastic pipe and all your fluid leaks out and then your stuck. Didnt the 83 have a regular hose? I took off the water pump its just a few bolts. I would order a gasket for the pump and new o rings for the joint. I put the joint into water pump first and then held the gasket in place using the long cover bolts in the pump holes to hold in place while I guided the joint into the thermostat housing. Also make sure the water pump lines up with the gear inside there when putting back together.
  15. He's in Europe they get like 6 weeks of "Holiday"
  16. Yea guys but he's coming out of Madison WI he's gonna be on I-90 then not near 94 or 41
  17. Vrods are pretty quick.
  18. I like the ingenuity. Nice Job.
  19. Even with the oil cooler on them they run hot.
  20. I94 East is a crazy expressway people darting all over the place at all different speeds. And whats considered the South side of Chicago along there is not a place to get broken down unless your in the right gang. I would probably use 294 S instead avoids all this.
  21. If you run I-90E to I-294S to I-80 E into Indiana during the hours of 10 am -200 pm and I mean ending your trip through Illinois at 200 pm traffic should be OK. Just remember you will have tolls about 7 of them at 80 cents apiece. Near the WI border I think its $1.40 for the first one. Should shave off many miles.
  22. You can program EFI also which is nice with carbs your messing around with jets sizes trying to match them up etc. Plus in our carbs messing with a diaphrams, floats and the general BS you have to do with a carb you dont have to do with EFI. EFI is just alot more user friendly and more efficient you pretty much dont have to worry about them. Maybe some cleaner in the gas tank once in awhile. Otherwise pretty much zero maintenance. Why screw with carbs just more work instead of riding. (Unless you like to of course) Just my H.O.
  23. The very newest Harleys with 103 " (Ive only ridden the 103 not the 96" motors) are qucker then they used to be but I think your RSTD should still be able to take them without much trouble.
  24. Man I want to know the secret of your longevity.
  25. I have to agree if there is one. I have a feeling its going to be a redesign maybe a Victory Vision looking bike.
