Gunny, it's a legit program. It will do a prescan telling you if it found items that need to be cleaned but will then ask you to buy the program to remove them. It is not spyware, but there is a cost to it. You can also find free utilities out there as well depending on your specific challenge. Thanks

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to help out the Windows-XP community with a link to my newly created website. I am using Video Tutorials to explain free software and XP System Utilities. I hope you find some useful information on this site and perhaps help some fellow riders out with their technology. Cheers

I am 5'7" - and took 6" off the stock windshield,,,,love it, not much more wind buffeting and wife hasn't complained. I am still going to cut it down another 2", so I can completely look over it. Right now I have to sit up completely and uncomfortably straight to see over it, which is fine for a few minutes but not more. I took it to NGM Glass here in North Bay Ontario, they charged $50 to cut it down and did a professional job. I wasn't about to tackle that myself. Just my 2 cents worth.

I want to buy a GPS for my motorcycle. Would be nice to also use it in the car but not mandatory. What is the best one to buy. Looking at ZUMO 550 and Tom Tom's rider 2nd Edition. I don't know enough about them but I GOTTA HAVE ONE...... Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to be able to plug this Garmin Zumo 550 into my audio plug in on my cassette so I can hear the voice prompts through the speakers or through my headset. Does anyone know if this unit is capable of doing that as I don't think I will be able to hear the voice prompts as the bike is running. Help

How much difference is the handling on RSV vs RSTD ?
newman replied to Deacon's topic in General Tech Talk
Hi There, Well I think I have something to add so here goes... I have owned two 2006 RSTD....as I hit a bear (and totalled one) and then I bought the exact same thing and a few weeks later (i bought on 07 RSV). I have been riding the 07 RSV since April 1. Yes it is heavier than the RSTD.....however I found out only 2 weeks ago that if you add air in the front 2 shocks, only about 5-7 lbs....it makes a HUGE difference in slow speeds, parking lots, coming to stops, turning, the bike doesnt want to lean or drop as much. I can't believe how much better it is now when just a little air in the front shocks. In the future when I need to replace the front shocks I will probably replace with a harder/firmer style that won't compress as much. Some have told me that when you add air to the front shocks it changes the handling when your going into corners.....I didn't notice any difference at all. I love the bike now.....I can't believe how much different it feels and handles. I also loved my 06 RSTD....nice to just pop off the windshield and backrest and drive around the city....but.....the RSV.....is so totally awesome on the highway. We ride alot with the GWRRA (GOLD WING ROAD RIDERS ASSOCIATION) they are very safety oriented, so having the CB and intercom (with my passenger) is so fabulous. Anyway that is my two cents.....I loved both bikes,,,,but I really love the RSV.....and I don't think it's that bad for being top heavy...but yes it's heavier than the RSTD. Thanks -
Thank you for your help. Going to those sites now.

Hey Guys, I have a 2007 RSV.....would like to change up the antennea as I find them too tall and i bang them in enclosed trailer when i pull it in. Questions are...what is the black round thing mid way down on one of the antennea? and can i just go to Canadian Tire and replace them with shorter car antennae? Will i loose reception when I change them for smaller ones? Is there any disadvantages by changing them out. And does anyone now where to buy shorter ones? Thanks again for all your great responses over the years. This website is so powerful.

Hi Guys, Speaking to a friend of mine who has an 05 Venture. He tells me that the engine in the Ventures can take alot. He suggests pushing it a bit harder and that you won't hurt the bike. I have an 07 Venture with about 5000 km on it. I don;t want to hurt my baby, but would like to rev it up a bit more.......is it ok to push it thru the gears harder? Thanks

2007 RSV - Lowering KIT?
newman replied to newman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hi There, Yes I am still at North Bay Toyota. Great place. Tim and Aldo are great guys to work with. Thanks for the info. I guess I just need to get used to it. I sort of thought by lowering it, it would make it a little less top heavy....at least lowering the centre of gravity. Thanks for the post.....have a great year riding.! -
Hi Everyone, Just got my 07 RSV....I think I might feel a bit more comfortable if the bike was lowered. Is it expensive to lower it? Any opinions good or bad about lowering the bike?

Hi Everyone, Just bought a new 07 RSV and will take delivery in April. A question I have is with the Helmet Headsets. We wear open face helmets and I am looking for a good/excellent quality set. Also need to know what pin set it is? 8 Pin? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hey Jammin, Sorry to hear about your accident. Scares the stuffing out of you. I know.....we hit a bear and totalled our 06 RSTD......so I understand where your coming from. We weren't pulling a trailer but both me and the wife were on the bike. Anyways.....get better soon, and get back on the bike...... good luck!

Rear Cargo Trunk from RSV to Royal Star
newman replied to newman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Sorry, but didn't have my camera with me when i hit the bear. Hit him doing 85km with wife on back, wbelieve it or not was able to keep the bike upright, but the whole one side, front forks were completely destroyed, about 12,000 damage so I upgraded to an 07 and here i am wondering if I should have just bought the RSV instead of the RSTD....... as I want the intercom/cb/audio option and rear trunk...... already checked ebay, nothing comes up so far. -
Hi Guys, I have just bought a 2007 Royal Star Tour Deluxe as my 06 RSTD was totalled when I hit a Bear. Anyways my buddy has a RSV and I love the trunk on the back of his bike. I am thinking it would fit my RSTD if only I could find one used or if someone has one here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hello, Just bought a 2007 RSTD and I love it. However maybe I should have bought the 2007 RSV cause I really want the Rider/Passenger Intercom and the CB system. Does anyone know of an aftermarket system that is seemless in that it looks great, works well and would be able to communicate with my fellow RSV riders. Thanks, PAUL
