Keying the Mic for GPS prompts for other riders in the group to hear it would be awesome. There must be a simple way to do this? Yes I am using my headset and I am connected to the AUX plug in the cassette player. Any helps on this would be appreciated. Thanks, PAUL http://www.ontario-motorcycle-rides.com http://www.motorcycle-road-test.com

Hi Guys, Bought a Garmin Nuvi 550, I currently have it hooked up with through the audio in/out. I want to be able to "Key" the mic so that when the GPS gives audible directions the "keying" of the mic will let the other riders hear whats being said along with me. When I key the mic now, I can't hear whats being said and nobody else can hear anything...... What am i doing wrong? I know it's possible as I think somebody else has it working from a group ride I was on last year.

Hey Hipshot..... Here is a link to a page in my website I created that talks specifically about several different free anti-virus programs. There are free trials on many of them. http://www.windows-xp-update.com/virus-protection.html However for the most part....generally you can run WITHOUT an anti-virus program if you do certain things...Most virus's / adware / spyware we get is because of our behaviour on our computers. Don't ever open attachments in your email until you have confirmed with the sender that they did infact send you an email WITH an attachment. Don't visit PORN sites (for the most part). Don't click on HYPERLINKS in email messages. I understand if you still want protection and there are many. If you want to try one of the best ones out there.....click on ESET which is NOD32. A very light weight yet powerful program that most of all the computer tech guys use and talk about. You can also go to http://techguylabs.com where Leo Laporte talks about anything technical.

Hi Silver, Not sure how "remote Desktop" compares to "Input Director" option for option but I do know that working with both of them I prefer Input Director for it's ease of use. Post your Thoughts on BEST FREEWARE programs here: http://www.windows-xp-update.com/share-your-freeware-gems.html

Simple. Useful. Fun! - http://www.ript.com Organize your thoughts, tasks, inspirations, ambitions and so much more. If you’ve ever made a list, torn a page from a magazine or bookmarked a Web page “for future reference,” Ript is the tool for you. It puts the “fun” back in functionality, so you can get more done, in less time… with less stress. Rip just about anything. Part scrapbook, part “to-do” list (or to-buy list), Ript mimics the actions of ripping, piling and arranging scraps of information. If you can see it on your computer, you can “rip” it. Simply drag and drop images and text from the internet or your computer and arrange them however you please — making it easy to compile, print and share your handiwork. Some of you may be sitting in front on more than one monitor. Myself I have 3 and I use one mouse and one keyboard to control all 3 of them using this freeware program called..... Input Director - It works extremely well and yes it's FREE. It even supports "SHARED" CLIPBOARD, in which you can copy data onto the clipboard on one system, transition across to another and hit paste. http://www.inputdirector.com

Yes your 100% right. Open office org.....with all it's spreadsheets and word processors is excellent and completely FREE. You gotta love that. It also opens Microsoft's documents as well so why do you even need Microsoft Excel or Word?

Every hard drive WILL FAIL....it's only a matter of when. If you have had to use a program called SpinRite from GRC.COM It's not cheap, around $89 but....it is highly rated and I have used it before to recover hard drives with about 95% effectiveness. GRC = Gibson Research Corporation and he is always on TV usually on Tech TV channel with Leo Laporte. Steve Gibson is a security expert and writes many different programs, most of which are free except his Spinrite program. This guy is a genius when it comes to writing small effective no BS programs. So if you have data on a harddrive that you just got to get...i would suggest trying his program. Nothing is 100% or guaranteed but I have used it and it works in recoving a hard drive long enough for you to get the information off of it. Hope this helps.

Hey Guys, Love all the talk about the "fruit company"....the Mac's are great computers and have their place in this world....however on a Windows PC or Laptop when comparing XP to Vista, XP is by far the leader and perhaps Microsoft realizes that as they are still continuing to offer new computers with the option of XP op system vs VISTA...... I hate Vista,,,,it's a memory hog......
