I have to agree with all the recommendations that have been listed above. Sometimes it is very difficult to remove a broken tap. It all depends on how it boke off. If it is a fairly flat break, you could get lucky by using a masonary bit made of carbide. The drawback to this is, in a hand drill it will be very difficult to deliver a steady feedrate without which the carbide will grab and break. If this happens then you have a piece of carbide that quite possibly will not be able to drill out. I have, on occasion, used this technique before successfully. Like I say, if all else fails, use this as a last resort. Best bet, try to get it to a drill press, milling machine, or a radial arm drill press. That way you'll have better control over the operation. Hope this helps. Good luck!! Also, If you know of someone who has access to an EDM machine you might could get them to burn it out.

Why don't the old Vmaxes chirp or whine??? Mine doesn't . It's a '99. I've never even heard of a Vmax producing this type of noise.

Well we started getting our snow about 4:30 this evening, and it's still coming down at 7:30 here in middle GA. When it started sticking to the road we all left for home. It shore is purdy!!!!

:95:Well it finally happened! I was waiting at a stop sign for oncoming traffic to come through so I could make a left turn and the bike hadn't completely warmed up, I guess, when I let out the clutch and "Big Gal" lurched forward and choked down. Next thing I know I'm laying on my back in the middle of the road and "Big Gal is resting on the crash bars. Not a whole lot of damage other than my pride, a small scuff on front and rear bars but alls well otherwise. So, that being said, where do I sent my money and how much???

Another great road in that area is Wayah Road just west of Franklin over to US19 near Topton. Not many crotch rockets on it. Just a nice road to cruise along at about 45mph on.

Yep, forgot about that one! very nice!

My '09 RSV S came with a 6-cd changer! And a cassette tape deck! WOW

Many times. In my opinion, The Devil's Triangle is better! It's located about 20 miles NW of Knoxville, TN. Not for the faint of heart.

My '09 came with the cd player in the left saddlebag. Worked really well, although it did skip on occassion on really bad roads. Finally pulled it out and now use an mp3 player with a splitter from the back of the cassette player. Probably won't put it back in unless the next owner wants it in. Will probably get a gps unit one day that will do the same as the mp3 player.

driver backrest??
Kirby replied to badluck73's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
What you say is true. Although, you can take it apart and "adjust " the bend in it to let you sit further back. I did this to mine and it works great! However, I must say also that I'm only 5'10" with a shorter reach than you guys. -

I don't know a lot about this model but if you can get to the carbs, see if there's gas in the bowls by loosening the drain screws. There may also be condensation built up in the bowls to the carbs. If so, drain it all out. -
That's what I be thinking too!

driver backrest??
Kirby replied to badluck73's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I bought a pillow backrest from "Diamond R Accessories" and haven't ever looked for anything else. A little more expensive than most, but well worth the extra cash. Great folks to deal with!!! -
