One or two of us have tried and tried to get the guys down in Florida to build one for the G2 but they never seem to get it all together. I spoke to the rep name Pete extensively for several weeks but he never came through with one that will work on the G2. Someone else has been trying to do the same thing but I think he got the same runaround. If you want to try yourself, contact Bikemp3.com(I think ) and see what you can come up with. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it would work like they advertise for the GW.

Last year I went on an Iron Butt Ride up in Newnan, and a guy on a Gold Wing put me onto the idea of visiting all the counties. I thought it was kinda neat so every chance I got I'd ride out a little further and further (being's how McRae is pretty much on a centerline between Columbus and Savannah). My wife had always wanted to visit Callaway Gardens so one weekend we headed off in that direction. When we got there they told us we couldn't ride the motorcycle in, so we did the counties that border on other states that weekend, 35 in all from McRae to Harris Co., to all the way around the top of the state, back down to Effingham, and back across by Candler Co. A little over 1,000 miles in all for 3 days but we did a lot of picture taking and site seeing. Mucho fun!!!

You are 100% corect in that there are some very nice country roads in our state. Last fall I took on the plan to visit all of the counties in the state of Ga. What I needed was to have a common place that all the counties have. That was, every county has a county seat and a county courthouse. Well, this past summer I completed visiting all 159 counties in the state of Ga and traveled over 7,000 miles in the project. I visited almost all of the war memorials and places that were dedicated to the veterans of all wars. Some of the most extravagant courthouses that you will ever see are in our state as well as many of the old which have been replaced or refurbished or turned into museums. Traveling over the whole state takes you over a lot of backroads and country towns that are never mentioned if you are just passing through on your way to one of the major cities. It was a lot of fun. I invite everyone to do this in their own state. You'll learn a lot about your state and have fun doing it!!

Glad to hear this. Keep us updated. Need to know if this is temporary of permanent fix.

There's a tapered ring on the plug where it plugs together. I can't remember for sure, but you either have to pull the tapered ring out or push it in for it to release. I had the same problen until I figured it out.

I have tried the Avon Cobra radial on the front back when I went to the darkside for a while and it was the absolute best tire I've ever had on the front. Since they don't make a radial for the back of the RSV, I put on an Elite 3 when I took off the car tire. Now, after about 15,000 miles I've started looking for another just like it (E3). I recently replaced the front tire Cobra with an E3. Although these tires(E3) do make a good deal of noise after they get a little wear on them, IMHO, they are very good and I will probably stick with them for the forseeable future or else try an Avon Venom on the rear. The problem with the Venom is there's been a good deal of tire failure (cracking) reported on this site. BTW, the Cobra was still in very good shape with plenty of tread left after 20,000 miles but I hit something in the road and cut the tire too much for comfort so it was replaced. I know there are some people who don't like them, but as far as balancing, I just throw in a couple of ounces of Dynabeads and go. Contrary to what some think, they work for me! One more thing, the E3 seems to be a lot harder to install on the rim than others I've mounted in the past. If you install them yourself, just remember to let them lay out in the sun to warm up and use lots of lubricant when mounting. Hope this helps.

If your bike has the saddlebag foam pads in the bottom, look under the pads in the right bag. The toolkit may be down under there in a small recessed area. Don't ask me how I know this!!! Never mind, wrong year model. My bad!

Man, I hate that you're having all this trouble BUT , don't let one dealer give you a snow job!!! Like others have said , go over his head. Look in the back of your owners manual, I think, and call the number to Yamaha customer service. They will make this right!!! Just don't give up!!! I've been there , done that, with good results!! Best of luck!!

Had a great ride with Elmicko on his beautiful 2nd gen Sat

Maybe Elmicko's real name is Joe Friday!!!???:banana: -
I agree. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of HD, but every one I've seen always shakes worse when idleing!! I think this shake has more to do with wind turbulence than anything else. In any event, not a good ride either way!!

RSV just keeps stopping for no apparent reason.

Exact same thing happened to my 09. Would run perfect, then all of a sudden quit! I checked the fuel filter and everything else I could think of but finally bypassed the fuel pump and she ran fine, so I drove it nearly a hundred miles to the dealer in Macon, Ga and it didn't miss a lick. The mechanic told me there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump that he could see but since it was under warranty he went ahead and replaced it anyway. Well, it hasn't shut off again. I think these fuel pumps sometimes die a slow death. What made me finally realize it was probably the pump was before all this happened, I had relocated my fuel filter up under the seat and while was trying to diagnose the problem, I noticed the filter wasn't refilling like it should as the bike was running. Anyway, try bypassing the pump and riding it like that for a few days and then you'll know! Just be sure to keep the fuel level up to maybe a half tank during this time! It will gravity feed fine!! -
Always on!!

Since I'm at work there's no picture, but I put one on the trunk lid under the rack. -
Yep, this is what I thought of also when I read the original post!

Harry that looks really great!!! I had no idea that you could paint upholstery and it wouldn't flake off!! This just blew me away!! Great job and thanks for posting this.

I always keep the best of the two just in case I get caught on a trip and suddenly realize one of the pads is totally gone. Takes about five minutes to change it out.

I voted last week also here in GA. Great idea!!!

I changed a friend of mine's front tire the other day on his wing which we had done last fall. He had 13,000 miles on that tire and we had put dynabeads in it. I had read on here that there was someone questioning that maybe the dynabeads would eat up the inside of the tire or rim or turn to dust. Well, let me assure you all that the dynabeads were still the same size(I checked them with dial calipers) as new ones that we put back in when I changed the tire. The old tire showed no kind of wear on the inside from the beads. I took my hand vacuum and collected them and will use them again at a later date in another tire. He's a believer in them and so am I.

I read this about a year ago. Same response.., couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes. Tears rolling down both cheeks!! Thanks for posting this.:rotf::rotf::rotf:

The reflectors or mounted vertically in the original configuration. After I mounted the saddlebag rails I went to Lowe's or Home Depot(can't remember which) and bought four rubber grommets to make up the difference in the size of the tubing.

That's good news Greg. Now just get healed up and get ready to ride!!!I told Dan what you said and he just laughed. He's been trying to build a house for the last few months so he hasn't ridden much with me this summer. The last ride we went on together I think was to Don's for MD. Hope everything goes well with you.

I'll tell him tomrrow! You got a date in mind yet??? Sounds like a plan to me, but as usual I'll have to see what the job does. But yea, as of right now, I'm all for it!!!

Cassette Deck, why do you have a problem with MORE options?
Kirby replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
All you have to do is "Get on it and ride" and all the doubts and second thoughts will disappear!! The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!! You'll never be satisfied with more gadgets and gizmos. Its the character of the bike that makes you love it!! If you think it's not right for you , then it's time to start looking elswhere, but get something you really enjoy!! Sure, everyone wants Yamaha to update the bike, but guess what. If they came out with a new one this year, there would be people next year still looking for the latest technology! I'm gonna shutup now, I'm beginning to think I'm sounding like someone advertising for HD!! -
