Looks like this was made with George and Bobbie in mind! -
Ok, I was cleaning up my computer last night and came across this link from several months ago. Just wondering has anyone on here tried this on their bike or know of someone who has? Looks interesting. Might even get rid of the "chirp and/or whine". http://www.efmautoclutch.com/dirt.shtml

We got a few snowflakes this afternoon in McRae, GA. This is the first time that I can ever remember us getting "snow" this early in December. Nothing stuck though.

Yea, me too! I just don't feel like $64.00 more for the same tire plus driving 90 miles round trip isn't too competitive.

Just ordered a new rear E3 for my '09 from Motorcyclesuperstore for 130.00 w/freeshipping.

No garage door, so no garage door opener.

Years ago, when I first started work as a machinist, I worked on a job that required several thousand spacers such as this which had to be ground to within +or - .0002 inch. I would first part them all off in a lathe to within .005 inch and then put a couple hundred on a magnetic chuck for surface grinding. Afterwards I took only a couple of tenths of a thousandth at a time until I got them down to the right thickness. It was a tedious job to say the least. Every now and then the grinding wheel would spit several off the table. Having said all that and knowing what I know from working in a machine shop and tool and die shop, it's not very cost effective to do something like this. You'll be way ahead of the game to go ahead and purchase the shim set and be done with it!

Eh, er, Yepper!!!! Still waiting!!!

Bought a couple of Fords in my early years. Then went to GMC. I would take a serios look at a new Ford if I was in the market. But then, if you put them all in a sack and shake it up, well, you know.

3 dead cylinders back to life.. what?

My bet's on either water in the fuel or a bad fuel pump, or a combination of both. Drain carbs to tell if it's water. Bypass fuel pump to tell if it's fuel pump. Good luck. -
Hmmm, this is almost as good a dicussion as one on whether or not to plug the AIS!!!! :stirthepot::stirthepot::whistling:

I agree with you! I use a similar setup, But unlike the Cd Player which can be locked in the saddlebag or trunk, you can't really leave this out everytime you stop to go into a business without fear of some idiot coming along and using his "five-finger discount". That's why we are talking about "cd player replacement". Plus you have to remove this during a rain shower or take precautions to keep it dry. That's why we were looking for something that would become part of the motorcycle and not just another "addon".

My wife an I were out for a ride yesterday from our home to a nearby town which is about 45 miles away. We hadn't gone far when we came up behind a line of traffic and had to slow down a bit. As we were riding along I began to notice there was a small truck a couple of vehicles ahead of me that was weaving back and forth from the centerline to across the white line on the edge of the road. I stayed behind for about 15 miles before finally passing and put some distance between us and the pickup. Now I'm thinking, "all is well". As we continue on, I notice the truck is catching up, now he's riding too close to me. I tap my brakes to let him know I'm concerned about his being so close to me. We come to a passing lane but he doesn't want to pass, just stay right on my rear. So, what do I do, he's still weaving and acting like he's either impaired by alcohol or lack of sleep. Before passing him, I had noticed he had an out of state tag, so I'm guessing he's from out of state and been on the road too long. I've given him the opportunity to pass, so now I crank the throttle and leave him behind. Once again, all is well. As it turns out before long I've run up behind slower traffic again. This time I see a SUV slowing ahead of me to turn right so here I am putting on brakes for him when I glance in my rearview mirror and see this idiot bearing down on me with all four tires in a slide. As, a last resort I split traffic, going between the turning vehicle and the oncoming traffic to keep from being rearended. The driver of the pickup naturally acts like nothing has happened and passes me on the right. My blood was now boiling! It's probably a good thing I don't carry a weapon with me because I would probably be in jail today for manslaughter. After a few choice words directed in his direction, I continued on where he turned onto the interstate and our paths divided. (1)I'll never again pass up the opportunity to call the LEO's to someone like this. (2) I'll never pass someone else like this and hope to let someone else deal with him! I wrote all this to make you all aware of the dangers out there of drivers that are behind you, not only to your front. Be careful out there folks, most times we don't get a second chance!!

Hmmmmm, wait for it!

No time to read. Just enough time to check in on this website, then out for another ride. Oops, gotta go, time to ride!!!!

I haven't ridden a GW that much so I can't say one way or the other. My friend rides one and it's quiet, powerful, nimble and well..., you get the idea. If there was not another RSV out there to be bought, then yea, I'd probaly own one. As it is right now, I love my "Big Gal". A GW would be my second choice!!! Don't want anything with a V-twin, air cooled engine, belt, or chain drive.

Deer whistles also keep the elephants off the road. Haven't seen one yet!!

That's what I thought a first so that was the first thing I replaced. After that I took it to the service repair place.

Ok, for all you computer nerds out there, here's a question that I am trying to figure out. Is there a way to tell whether the problem is my motherboard or if it's the processor. Several months ago lightning ran in on my computer and killed it. I think it was just static electricity and not a direct hit with lightning. There was a pop and it died but this was while the computer was turned off and unplugged. Anyway, I took it to a place for insurance estimate and they told me it was either the motherboard or the processor. Insurance paid off, but I never had it fixed. Now I've decided to try to fix it myself. I did mange to salvage my harddrive to another computer so all data was saved. I'd just like to tinker with this one. So, ya'll get your thinking caps on and see what you can come up with.

Having worked with tools for fifty years, I've found that whatever tool you're using will serve you best if taken care of. Carb Tune is no exception.
