There was something on the news several months ago about one of the HD models having a lot of this type problem. I don't remember which model but it concerned the bikes either oscillating or wobbling coming out of a turn. A lot of wrecks because of this.

You guys would make excellent HD owners. You dream BIG!!!

I met a guy yesterday that had a new Vision and he was telling me all about it. The features and how and where it was made, you know, all the hype. Then he said it would run 180 mph..., yea right!! He had a HD before he bought the Vision. I ain't sayin' nothing, I'm just sayin'!!!

I know we would all like to see Yamha (Star) get back in this race for the best of the best touring bikes but when was the last time Yamaha listened to it's following??? Sure, I would love to see a new max engine in a totally redesigned bike that would just turn the market on it's ear, but folks I got a gut feeling that just ain't gonna happen!!! Unless they take on the likes of the Honda GW, and go at it full throttle like they started to back with the 1st Gen, they'll be waisting their time and money. You gotta give it to Honda though. They took a totally different approach to the touring market, stuck with it, and poured money into it until today they've got one heck of a touring bike. And nothing else on the rode is made like it except for the other Tupper ware bike(Vision)!!! If Yamaha had spent that kind of money and research on the 1st Gen, there would never have been a 2Gen. The market is there if Yamaha ever wants to get it's share of it!! So, I believe as stated earlier, they'll look at what the majority of buyers are buying now and use one of their existing V-Twins. I surely hope I'm wrong on this one!!

If and when Yamaha does get back in the race, it'll probably be another big V-Twin, air-cooled, belt driven bagger that looks like everything else out there. Those three items are a hit with most buyers these days.

Tim, the only thing that I know of to bring with you on a PGR mission is respect for the fallen and family. I asked the same kind of questions when I joined. Wear what you would normally wear when out riding. Most of the road captains usually have extra flags in my state. Most of the time there is a flag wagon that hauls extra flags, water, and maybe someone will bring along some cookies if it is a long ride. I would suggest you bring along some bottled water and maybe a snack if you want. Oh, and one other thing. Dark sunglasses. Check with your PGR in your state. Someone should be able to answer any and all your questions. They'll usually assign someone to be a mentor for you until you learn the ins and outs.

Hey Monty, I know how you feel. I've only been a member for a couple of months and feel bad sometimes cause work gets in the way. As a matter of fact, after I get off at 0600, I intend to go to a funeral over in Cordele, GA which is only about an hour from my home. I try to catch those closest to me. So far, I've only made four. All have been after pulling 10 hour shifts and have to be back at work the next night. Just wish I could do more sometimes.

Looking for an on-line tire deal
Kirby replied to ActionJax's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I bought a front tire (E3)for a friend's GW last week from Chaparral Motorsports. They were the the cheapest I could find on the net. Delivered in less then a week , too. Tire birthday was 0912. -
Sorry to hear this my friend.

I have used plugs in the past and have some stored in one of my saddlebags right now for emergencies. I, too, have recently replaced my rear tire and within the first 500 miles picked up a nail just as the OP did. When I went to put the plug in I cringed at the thought of having to make a small( less than 1/8 inch) hole bigger just so I could get the plug in. That's one of the reasons I recommend fixing a tire by placing a patch on the inside of the tire. Now if you're somewhere stranded beside the road, then I'd be the first to use a plug. But if you don't have an air pump of some type to refill the tire then I guess the plug is pretty much a moot point. That's why I also carry a compressor in the bottom of my bag.

I'm with Captain Joe on this one. Fix it from the inside and do as GeorgeS said, throw in a bottle of Ride On and forget about it. Or you can buy a new tire and possibly ride it down the block and pick up another nail and do it all over again! If your out on the road somewhere, put in a plug to get you home, then have it fixed or replaced. It's your money and your peace of mind.

SpanishVenturer (Jesus) I was one of the first to buy one of this product and have used it almost daily since then. Other than the occasional hang up, it's is a really good replacement for a CD player or a cassette player. It literally becomes part of the bike as it is integrated into the sound system.

Tom, I just saw your post. Sorry to hear about your Mom. If there's anything I can do , let me know.
