  1. Just get off the main roads and hit the roads less traveled. Slow down and don't forget to take your camera. Just about any road you take up there is great!
  2. I've got two twinkies. One on my Vmax and one on my RSV.
  3. I just installed a Speedohealer on my 09 last week. Sure is nice to be reading what the actual speed is. But with a 7.9 % correction factor I think my odometer is really off now.
  4. :sign yeah that::You_Rock_Emoticon:
  5. I've had the Morgan Carbtune Pro for about 4 years now and it has more than paid for itself. If you ever think the slides are sticking just swap the hoses around to verify this. If it proves out that one is sticking, follow the instructions that come with it to clean and it should be good as new. The main thing to remember with this unit is to keep it free from dust and dirt. As with any other tool, you take care of it and it will take care of you.
  6. Another thing to look for is air in the line which will expand as the brakes warm up and cause the pistons to close on the caliper. If this bike has been sitting for as long ad you say, then the brake fluid probably needs changing anyway. Best to drain and inspect then replace and bleed. Let us know how it works out. Someone's always willing to help here.
  7. This is a picture taken by someone on this site while showing how to remove the carburetors. The carbs are shown from the bottom side. It only shows 3 but you should be able to see the other one on the last carb. The brass caps cover the idle mixture screws. Just pry off the brass caps if they are still in place. Don't bother trying to put them back on.
  8. You may also want to consider this location for the filter.

  10. Maybe a "learning" curve? May be relative to right hand and left foot.
  11. Mine is not silver looking at all. It is more of a gold than anything else. BTW, seashell-raven is the fastest color.
  12. Paypal and PM sent. Thanks Monty.
  13. Monty, I"ll take two.
  14. Sometimes the covers over the fork tubes will give off a sound like you are talking about if they have been bumped. I ran into the same problem after hitting a deer a couple of years ago.
  15. Don was the first one I met at MD several years ago after having talked with him on this forum many times before. He had a flashlight and was directing riders that arrived after dark at MD. Big smile, warm ,down home personality, and a heart to match the state he was from. He was one of the first to become a Darksider. Help me more times than I can count. Farewell my friend and condolences to all those left behind, for we will surely miss you.
  16. My next bike will probably be another used RSV. If I can't find one of those, it'll probably be a Wing.
  17. A friend of mine at work has a HD Streetglide with the quick connect saddle bags. Well, today he told me that this morning he was letting the bike warm up while he walked back into the garage to get his helmet. When he returned he found his right saddlebag laying on the driveway all scratched up from falling off the bike. He said he had taken the bags off to get behind them to clean the bike and must not have made sure that he got them attached back up right. Anyway, Ya'll that have 'em, check 'em. Then double check 'em before you take off down the road. He'll get by with a paint job. The next guy may have to buy a whole new bag or pay to have someone else's vehicle fixed. I'm not going to even gonna comment on how smooth my V4 is.
  18. I've used 2 Bike Condoms in the last year. I worked at night so I'd put one on to keep the dew off the seat and windshield. If you are careful about putting it on they will last a long time, but they do tear easily. I didn't particularly like the name " Bike Condom" brandished across the front of the bike so I painted over the name. Other than the name, they work great and store really small. I think they might have gone out of business.
  19. Dan, I hear you. If I had one I'd give it to you man. Sorry to hear things like this.
  20. Even though the picture shows all the different parts, I believe this price is just for the headlight.
  21. Well, I've only got 64,000 miles on my 09 so I figureit's got at least another 100,000 miles of pleasure in it. Besides, if a 1st gen can last as long as they have, the 2nd gen should still be good until 2030.
  22. Is it a vtwin or a vfour?
  23. Do like I did. Bypass the pump and ride it for awhile to be sure it's the pump. Then take it to them and explain to them that by disabiling and bypassing the pump the bike runs good. It's an intermittent problem, it may be doing fine, but you want it replaced because the bike is not reliable with it hooked up. The warranty is suppose to cover it so it's not coming out of their pocket. As a matter of fact they make money doing warranty work! If they still won't do it, go somewhere else. If no one else wants to change it out, go over their heads and call the customer service number. It's a known fact that the pumps go bad slowly or all at once. They'll probably want to keep the bike a few days and check it out, but talk it out with the service manger and try to get him to see your point of view and if you are like me, the bike is ridden daily so it doesn't need to be kept in a service shop more than it takes to replace the pump.
  24. Unplug the pump, bypass pump, fill the tank and ride it like you stole it.
