One thing I've learned over the years is just because a dealer says he went over a bike with s fine toothed comb, doesn't mean he did the work right. Maybe he let the new guy in the shop do the job. You may want to check wheel runout, balance and head bearings. I know its new but the bearings will need adjusting quite often on a new bike.

Not trying to hijack this thread but since I have access to a tool shop at work(I'm a toolmaker), does anyone have the hole location for the sensor and tapped hole? I've got a '99 Vmax and an RSV and thought that one day I might try this since so many are having it done and reporting the benefits of it. Then if if didn't work out to my liking I could just swap them back. All I need is a reference point to start from and the sizes of the holes.

Lol that's funny. It reminds me of my first car. A 62 four door Falcon!! Gave $500.00 for it. Drove it 2 years and sold it for $450.00. Nowadays you could easily get 4 times that or more!

The 09 RSV had the cable and a Clarion 6cd changer connected inside the left saddlebag. I replaced mine with a VentureMp3 SD card player a couple of years ago. No more skipping. If your trunk lid won't lift up to a 90 degree angle, your lid support linkages are bent. All you have to do is gently lift the lid back up to full open position. The mechanism is made from too soft a metal and it gets bent because someone closing the lid either forgets or doesn't know that you are suppose to do a double lift to get the lid to close. The mechanism was made so that the lid would not fall and close on your fingers. So just gently push the lid back to full open and all will be well in the world.

Have to agree with Ground-Hugger. It's hard to believe but it's on almost the same level as a Victory Vision.

Yea I know what you mean. Most list the RSV as a cruiser not a tourer.

I'd say you've seen a Vision. Rides pretty good but looks leave something to be desired.

Just as V7Goose has described above, if you suspect the fuel pump, it's fairly easy to bypass and will keep you from having to push it 6 miles home. If, after you bypass the pump and keep at least a couple of gallons in the tank at all times, the bike runs fine and doesn't fail again , you can be pretty much assured your pump is the culprit. There are several write ups discussing how to do this. Just do a search and ye shall find!!

I think you may be relating 2 different things that just by coincidence happened about the same time. My guess is you're having fuel starvation from one or more of your main jets being stopped up. Or maybe you got water in you float bowls. I'd start there anyway.

I think he might step back in time and get a 1st Gen. Just because he feels obligated to the rest of us. He's kinda like the Maytag repair man, loneliest man in the world, needing something to do. If he gets a 1st gen, then there's always something to repair or fix!! Don, here's a novel idea, Go for a ride on the 99 and the need for something else will simply go away. :big-grin-emoticon:
