Hi Scott We rode out to slab city last fall on our bikes just to check out. it is a old army base that has been left to turn back into desert. in the late 60s the hippys move'd in and a few still remain. looked to me that it is free camping but it is not a camp ground like we know but it is cool with all the Art.
