I love the Connies. But, I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't have a cruise control. For the life of me, I do not understand why Kawi doesn't care enough to put a cruise on it. Yamaha has finally done that with the FJR. That is the final piece that would make that bike a true sport "tourer".

We got 6" here in Little Rock last night. Real purdy outside.

The other day, on one of my trips to see a client, I found my mind wandering into Cowpuc story land. Just thinking and laughing about Cowpucs various stories of him, Tippy, and Tweeks. Then, the thought crossed my mind, is Tweeks a He, or a She? Yep, this is the kind of deep thinking I get into when I have a couple hours of windshield time to burn while I'm getting around to my customers in my sales territory. In today's gender neutral world, sometimes ya can't tell if what your looking at is a He or a She. And Lord knows it's PC incorrect to ask. But, I ain't sacred. So, it's time for Tweeks to come outta the closet. Puc, what is Tweeks?

Big Clayton, I'm so glad you got to do a trip for the first time. I hope you made it back safely. I saw in your report you rode through Little Rock. Let me know the next time you do that, I'd like to meet you. Big Lenny Clayton -
Puc, That's awesome! But, you crazy!

Hey Larry, Hope you have some great riding in your 2016 future. My wife and I are planning a two weeker in June. Little Rock, Arkansas to LA, up the Pacific Coast Highway into Oregon and Washington state. Then over to Idaho and down through Wyoming and Colorado, then back home. That is, if the Lord willin and the creek don't rise. Big Lenny

Hey Puc, I'm glad you gave us a preview of that documentary. I saw a story about it yesterday on CBS This Morning. Really interesting looking stuff. Looks like corruption from one end to the other, but the Avery guy seems to be shady enough to throw a wrench in the ole innocence plea too. I think I remember they said the nephew had some learning disabilities. Definitely gonna check this one out. Now, I gotta figure out how to convince my "Type A" personality wife to watch something with me that's 10 hours long. Got any idears?

I do not smoke. I would've a long time ago, but I can't find any smoker I know that would actually recommend me to start. I was raised among a bunch of smokers and I hate it. My dad died in 1999 at the age of 61 from lung cancer from smoking, my mom now has COPD from smoking and has to carry an oxygen tank. My brother has COPD from smoking and just had an open heart surgery because of hardening of the arteries from smoking. My best friend in the whole world died two years ago at the ripe old age of 51 from lung cancer, he was a smoker. We buried my 63 year old uncle in June who died from lung cancer. He had quit smoking a year ago, and was puffing on those stupid looking e-cigs. I have a very short pity fuse for people who are killing themselves with this stupid habit. If anybody on this forum can read Jonesy's above post, and still put any form of a cigarette to their lips, then they need to have their heads examined, and get to counseling ASAP. Please don't get mad at me, and please please please please understand my heart. I am posting these strong words because I deeply care for our members here. Just stop the smoking NOW. Quit cold turkey just like others have already mentioned they did. Quit pussy footing around with it. E-cigs aren't freaking answer. Just stop it and deal with the withdrawals and get down the road from it. I know it aint easy. It's truly one of the hardest things human beings have to do, to stop a nasty habit that is in their bloodstream, but STOP! Love you guys. BL

Well, My wife and I don't get each other Christmas presents because her birthday is in November, my birthday is in January, and our anniversary is Decmeber 7th. We decided early in our marriage that we would make Christmas for our kids and family only, since we do so much personal presents from November to January. So, no early gifts for me. Now, having said that, we have been working ourselves to the bone getting ready for Christmas. Just did our final count and we have purchased 86 gifts totalling $3700.00, and we will gather with our kids and our widowed mothers tomorrow night for gift giving and a 20 year traditional Christmas breakfast at our house. Then Christmas night, we're having 35 folks over for our annual formal Christmas dinner and dirty santa gift game. Another good year.

Those bikes in that pic are Yamahas. Now when we'll ever see them, who knows.

Were getting the severe weather here right now that you guys in Bama are expecting tomorrow. A few tornado warnings so far, but nothing on the ground yet. Crazy warm and humid today.

When I saw that Spanish moss hanging from those trees, I knew it had to be down south on the coast somewhere. I love me some Jekyll Island, Georgia. Years ago, my wife and I, and our kids, who were 10, 12, and 14, took a two week vacation down to Disney for one week, and then we drove up the coast into Georgia for a spell. We decided to stop and stay a couple days at Jekyll Island. What a wonderful treat of pure beauty and serene peace. My kids had spent the whole week before, doing Disney, Universal Studios, and Sea World. With all of the high energy stuff they had experienced, we were a tad concerned they might get a little bored on Jekyll Island. Never happened. They instead loved the quiet peaceful beaches. Getting up early and staying out late on them. Chasing crab, watching the sunrise. It was just a wonderful rest. I wanna go back.

The FJR turns me on. I've always thought they were cool looking bikes. I finally got to test ride one in September at Bikes Blues & BBQ. Really liked it, except for one thing; At freeway speeds, I kept feeling like it needed another gear. I liked everything about it, but more than once, I went for another gear when we were running 75 on the freeway. Sooooooo, I am super glad to see Yammy added a 6th gear for the 2016 model! By adding cruise, electronic adjustable suspension, and a 6 speed tranny to this already wonderful bike, Yamaha has vaulted it into a major player in the sport tour world. I am surprised Kawi hasn't done the same with their Concourse.

Good Lordy! So glad they found what was ailing the Tipster. Sounds like that first doctor needs a firm talking to. It's groovy how much you love Tippy. Your love for her bounces of letters of your posts. Puc. You make me wanna be a better husband. -
Last year after a days riding, we grabbed a room at a Hampton Inn in Russellville, Arkansas. The hotel manager was kind enough to let me park the bike on the sidewalk right next to the front door. I thought that was super nice of her, but unbeknownst to me and my wife, letting us park right at the front door entrance, staged us for an embarrassing scene to happen the next morning. After eating the complimentary breakfast, I went out and started warming the bike up. We eventually got everything loaded, put our jackets and helmets on, hooked up our intercoms, and gave each other the thumbs up for take off. I eased the clutch out and the bike went about a foot before the ole disc brake lock did it's job. LOL. I had the front wheel turned to the right, so when the front wheel locked up, it dropped to the right faster than I could get my bearings. I almost saved it, but no deal. The bike fell onto it's crash bars and didn't roll over any father than that. However, my wife and I both tumbled off our seats and went rolling on the drive thru in front of the hotel front door. We then did the old person git up type thing. After the initial shock of the deal, I started laughing my head off. The hotel manager came running out the front door asking if we were alright. She looked puzzled that I was laughing. Several hotel patrons were going in and out at that time and served as perfect witnesses. Stupid me. Learned me a memorable lesson that day. I now have a "Remove Before Flight" tag i clip onto my right throttle cable to remind me my disc brake lock is on.

Very true, Larry. And that is probably exactly what she was thinking. But, in her wisdom, she didn't say it.

Two Saturdays ago I was playing basketball with my 7 year old grandson in our garage. Something I've done 100's of times during his short life. Anywho, he was dribbling the ball and I reached down and swiped it from him, the ball started bouncing away from us toward the door that leads into my kitchen. he and I both took out after it, and I tripped over my own feet and started into one of those America's Funniest Home Videos, old man stumbling with his head out in front of his feet type things. I couldn't grab anything that could stop my stumbling. So I wound up, after stumbling for about 15 feet at a high rate of speed, crashing into my kitchen door, busting it open, and falling hard to the floor. It was pretty violent. Shocked my wife ,who was in the living room reading her bible, so much so that she came running to me hollering Oh Lord! The fall left me with an approx. 12"x4" scrape down my lower right back where I hit the door facing as I went down, and an extremely sore right hip down to my knee. but the thing that is bothering me the most is; I have apparently damaged my right shoulder pretty bad. For the first 3-4 days after the incident, I could not lift my arm very far without severe pain. Now, a week and half later, I can lift it about halfway out away from my body before I start to feel like someone is stabbing a knife in my shoulder. I really don'y have much strength in it. I'm gonna have to get the doc on this one. Knowing my luck, I probably tore the rotator cuff (or as some of my southern friends call it "rotary cup"). Grandkids........They're dangerous!
