Hey BigLenny, like you I rode the XC, and thought it was a great machine. Put on almost 50k on the RSV and thought it was a fantastic bike. Nothing out their like the V4. I ended up buying a HD Ultra, and truly enjoy it. But often miss my RSV, the liquid cooled engine and hardly no heat from engine was great, not to mention the amount of passenger room for the passenger. I had put fishtails on the RSV and it sounded like a small block V-8, was awsome, little loud. The HD sound is, well it's a Harley and many try to copy it. But all in all, I wish I could have afforded both the RSV and Ultra, both different, but both great bikes. Question, couldn't you add a detachable fairing w/sterio and detachable trunk and make your bike the best of both worlds? Later-

Awsome Pictures! Thanks for sharing them. Wish I could have been there, had it wrote on the calender since Don posted when it was, but raising Grandchild. Hopefully next year, Later-

Hey Don & Eileen, I really wanted to make it this year, but things just didn't work out. Always think the people on this site are Great! Someone asked me yesturday what I thought about my Ultra compaired to the Venture, I liked great qualities of each. Wish I keep my RSV, but realize i can't ride both, and it is in Great Hands with Ray. Always felt at somepoint when I have to go to a trike, it will be a RSV. Hope to see you all next year, Later-

Hey FreezyRider, I think Bones ment big difference between Road Star, not Roadliner. True, Road Liner has less equipment that is all, handles same to me as Stratoliner. Never owned either one, but have road friends who had each, for several miles. If your thinking about one, to me spend the extra $$$ and get the S model, like Roadliner S. Later-

Sorry for the last minute, but unfortuantly not able to make it. Really a bummer, I look forward to making it, had it planned even on the Calander, but with raising a Grandchild. Also, recieved a phone call and Dad is comming home from Florida to permanetly live back here on the 2nd and I have to pick him up. The best layed plans sometimes don't work out. But hoping it is a Great Turn Out, and everyone has Lots of Fun. Later All-

The RSV sounded great when I had Fishtail's on it, like a small block V-8. Like a bike a little loud, keeps the elderly, deer and other animals aware I am there. But agree many bikes overdue the loud sound. Later-

Hey all, flying down Sunday the 15th to buy a New to Me bike in Florida and riding home. I plan on buying a Side Car for the Grandchild were raising, and to help with weight balance if needed. Unfortuantly Reverse is not available on a RSV. Thought about a trike, but not for me, not yet. Charlene really liked the colors of the 105th Anniversary Edition on the Heritage we just sold. We both missed the RSV, and the touring line with all the extras, and I could never get comfortable on long rides with the Heritage due to my back. The touring line is a bit more than I want to handle, but the future side car will help out. We are buying a 08 H-D Ultra Classic with 2250 miles, like new. I hope the Ultra is as good a bike as my RSV, which is in great hands with Old School. Still enjoy being on this wonderful site and the Great people here. Later-James "Red Ryder" Beyer

Hey ablumny, yes diffently a Harley gives you a different mind set. I am not sure if it is that riding American mind set, or just the effects of great adverisment of riding a Harley. As for the differences, I have rode the Ultra several times, and now own a Heritage, but will openly admit I liked the RSV better than either of them. Just wish mother yamaha would get off her lazy butt, and do some mods on the RSV, like lower seat, different frame like on Strat, heck maybe a 8-track , etc. But it is good to try different bikes, makes you appreciate and miss the RSV. Yes I rode the XC or Cross Country. What a fantastic bike, and probably my next bike. To bad it is not liquid cooled. Like you, I really wish mother yamie would be competative. Rode the Liners, and they are fast but just lacking other items, and basically on a softail frame. So for any long distance riding the RSV is yamies best. The XC really impressed me also, never thought I would have a bike come close to the RSV, but Victory did a very good job with the XC. Just my 2 cents. Later-

Hey, thanks Rick, that weight sounds about right 925 lbs., not the 869 lbs. they have in the book. Guys I think I am pretty close to those weights. Had a few Harley buds over when I took off the trunk on the RSV. My Harley bud was boasting that his trunk will way more than my jap trunk. We took his detachable trunk off his Ultra, and lifted each trunk, they felt the same weight. My Harley buds were surprised, a harley trunk weighs 45 lbs. As for fairing I can only guess, but at least 25 pounds, but with all the wiring, speakers, cassett (lol), etc. I bet it is somewhere around 40 lbs. Anyways thanks all, Later-

Hey all, while I have my 08 Harley up for sale, and of course so much to do in our Michigan Winter, I have been looking at the different bikes out there. I looked at the RSTD and compaired the wet weight 844, to the RSV wet weight 869. Does it make sence that their is only a 25 pounds difference? I have taken off the trunk to a RSV and to me it was around 40-50 lbs., then add a fairing which I guess would weigh another 40 lbs., and the difference from a 5.3 gallon tank on the RSTD, comparied to the 6 gallon tank on the RSV. The windshield on the RSTD will weigh around 10-15 lbs I'm guessing, so maybe that would be a off set for the difference of weight from the tanks sizes and filled with gas. When I look at other manufactures weight differences between bikes, the RSTD is correct at 844 lbs., but the RSV should weigh around 910 lbs. Just a thought, Later-

Hey All, had to pass up on a very good deal on a bike because I have not sold my 2008 Harley Heritage-105th Anniversary Edition. Have it posted for sale here and elsewhere. So I started thinking, I will Help You by Helping Me. I will give a $1000. discount to anyone from this site who buys my bike. Or if you send someone to me who buys my bike (make sure they mention who sent them, and your from this site) and I will discount it $500 to them and give you $500 for helping me sell it. Thought this is a pretty fair deal, considering I have already discounted it over $6000. http://www.victoryforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Thanks in advance everyone, Later-

Hey all, I test rode the Cross Country, XC as they say on Victory Forum. I thought it was a fantastic bike. Very Impressed with the handling, and lots of power. But I will be the first to say, the RSV is also a Fantastic Bike, by far the best motorcycle I have ever owned. I have missed my RSV since selling it to Old School (Great People). The XC or XCT (tour) out performed my H-D Heritage, especially in comfort, so if I sell my H-D my next bike will probably be a XC. Though I have thought about the Tour Deluxe and add a detachable fairing. To me the XCT seem to weigh more than the RSV, so that is a big concern for me. The things I didn't care for on the XC: First-Cost of Accessories, way to expensive. Second-Dealers Availability, though they are growing, a lack of dealers for repairs are still a concern, as there are thousands of Harley and Yamaha Dealers all over USA. Third-many guys on the Victory forums complain about engine noise and other little complaints. But as any new product I realize it takes some time to work out the kinks. Fourth-not liquid cooled. As far as the Victory forum compaired to this site, well, thats hands down here. I belong to several sites, and by far this site is #1 (Thanks Don). People here are great, friendly, and actually care enough to go out of their way to show it. That don't happen very often, so appreciated all. Later-

Great Job Don, catching those spammers! I have had alot of them trying to purchase the Harley I have for sale. Luckily, None are from this Site. It would have to be very frustrating for you having to deal with these IDIOTS. Thanks for keeping on top of it. Just like any crooks, if they would only put there expertise to good use. Later-
