  1. Could someone explain the slide switch positions on RH controls for the US model. On mine this simply operates the lights e.g. side lights and main lights. Do you have the same with an extra position to switch on hazard ( flasher ) warning lights ?
  2. I bought a used Venture 2000 model last year. I'm very impressed with it. The quality, finish and level of equipment is fantastic. I've had difficulty getting the star accessories here for the bike as Yamaha Europe I think are discontinuing. Some are still available though. I have found sources on ebay for accessories ( mainly from the states ) - and parts seem to be well priced and easily available. Its not very popular in the UK, but thats simply due to sports bikes being more predominant here. I think its a great bike. I've no regrets getting one. Its a delight to ride, lovely burble from the V-four engine. Much smoother than a Harley. I test rode a road king, and didn't enjoy that at all. Shakes everywhere and one of the worst side stands on a bike I've ever encountered. The shakes and the weight together really put me off getting one of these in addition to the price. The RSV in a different class - refinement, luxuary - and it encourages you to do big distances. It is very heavy, but the smooth engine inspires confidence regards handling, and I've adjusted to coping with the weight.
  3. I'll feedback to the forum what I find out. I'll see if I can get the switch gear cheap with the hazard switch on. Pinwall seem to be on ebay and seem to have many spares for the bike.
  4. That sounds promising. My BMW R1100RS had a blank switch on it. I discovered that the bike had the wiring for the hazard warning present in the loom. I bought a switch, found the plug socket in the loom and connected things up. Hey presto - Hazard Warning Lights. I suspect the wiring might be present on this bike also. Hopefully all that is needed is the switch to make things work and finding a way to connect it up. By the sounds of things I may have to consider getting the switch gear from a bike that has the switch and hopefully by plugging that in, I should have hazard warning lights. I'll do further research. Thanks
  5. Great to know there are other owners of the RSV in the UK . Maybe we should start a club here ? Could be quite exclusive judging that we are few. I bought the mini-tank cover from PartShark. I had difficulty initially with them regards verifying UK cards. Many communications and it eventually got resolved. I have managed now however to get many of the accessories for the bike now via eBay, which I think is absolutely wonderful. I've had no problems regards payment as yet using PayPal. There are many options showing parts for the bike under Worldwide Sellers if you search for "Royal Venture Star" - I think you'll be amazed at how many options you have. I've also since found Cliff Rue Motors Inc who deal with Yamaha accessories. I've bought the passing lights and fittings from them. Only problem on arrival was with one lamp which fell apart in two pieces when I was doing the assembly. Completely fractured - probably in transit. Apart from that the assembly and fitting was fine. I only have one lamp working at the moment though. Cliff Rue have however mentioned they will send me another over. I asked them to additionally send me the Front Fender Trim Rail and to perhaps put extra bubble wrap in the packing. I'm just waiting on delivery for both of these items at the moment. I intend to get the saddlebag rails at a later stage. I've hung off regards these as the UK bike doesn't seem to have holes drilled in the rear crash bars. Looking at the fittings for the rails it looks like I would need to drill some holes in these to fit.
  6. Does anyone know if its possible to wire up Hazard warning lights on the Royal Star Venture. I've checked star accessories, but don't see any options within electrical. Has anyone managed to figure out how to perhaps get this feature wired on the bike ?
  7. Many thanks - That site looks excellent.............Very much appreciated.
