From everything I've heard they're a nice bike but its too big for me. I can't reach the handlebars without stretching forward. I'm 5'9" and have trouble. You either have to be a big dude or do some major pullbacks. I didn't want a bike I had to modify to ride. This of course said after I completely redid my roadstar this winter.

Congratulations! You've got a real cutie there!

When are you coming through wv?

All I can say is that I should be getting a royalty for that video. Story of my life.

Thanks for the info. I know nothing about choosing the fittings and so forth so I'll probably defer to an expert on assembly. Not an area that I want any surprises with.

I just installed floorboard extensions on my roadstar and now the rear brake line is too short. Any thoughts on where to find one made to order. I checked with the local shops so I'll have to order it.

I rode one a couple of weeks ago and if all I was concerned about was how it rode there would already be one in the hangar. Lots of power, extremely well balanced and a very comfortable ride. I actually like the look. The big downside is the lack of storage and the fact that it costs an extra $1350.00 to get a cb. I didn't try to work a final price on the thing but that brings the sticker price to over 25,000.00 Way too much in my book.

I rode a new Ultra Classic a couple weeks ago and was likewise surprised how it smoothed out off of idle. I didn't like how close the floorboards were and the amount of heat off the front cylinder. What I was really surprised about was the price. A 2010 Ultra Classic stickered right around 21,000 while the goldwing comes in at close to 25,000 to get the cb installed and the victory vision is about the same as the wing. Still a good bit more than the venture, but if you want the v-twin touring, then not such a bad deal. (can't believe I just said that)

I recommend Dewey, Cheatham and Howe.

I'm trying to find new brackets and clamps for the vance & hines longshots on my 03 roadstar. I can find lots of places that sell the whole setup, but I only need the header clamps and the mounting brackets (rusted from previous owner) the pipes are still fine. Help.

She was still very sore by the time we made it home, but I don't think she would have made it without it.

Thanks for the pic. We did the normal touron stuff: Maid of the Mist, tunnels behind the falls. Had dinner Friday at the Keg. Put lots of miles on the bike. Just a nice relaxing trip.

Roadstar got over 50 on at least 3 tanks this weekend. 51.5 was the best. All this two-up full bags and on the interstate. Worst mileage was 42. Had to poke a little at my venture riding bretheren.

I'd refer you to the first rule of plumbing: "Stuff" always runs downhill. Also applies to just about everything else in life.

I appreciate the invite. I'll probably give you a call to see some of the local area. It looks like the weather might actually cooporate. Having said that, now I'll have to pack the rain suits.

Got our passports today, so now we're official. I have to say that the Office of Really Bad Photos outdid themselves. Got my powerports installed day before yesterday and all I have left is to change the oil and pack. Don't know yet if we are going to make it to the meet. We're leaving WV around daylight on Friday. If anyone is heading north it would be great to get a few bikes together.

I prefer to keep my horses steel, but the wife would definitely enjoy that.

Sure am. Getting it ready now. Adding power ports in the fairing. Got my gps mounted and giving it the once over.

Thanks for the info. Wife wants to try the B&B thing. Some old Victorian style house. Don't know what they're going to think when they hear me before they see me.

I love the fairing. I wasn't sure I would like the stubby windshield but it works really well. The fade tinting on it looks really good too. Its the whole memphis shades setup. I'm strongly considering the lowers to go with it. Has anyone tried them?

Skid's right. It's not just black. It's a PPG color effect paint that has a burnt orange metal flake clearcoat with another clear over the base black. Depending on the light and the angle it can look flat black, gloss black, orange, copper and even burgundy.

I can't give you all that satisfaction. There's got to be a v-twin or two in the bunch to give you all some credibility. Also, consider me a safety feature so people can hear us coming.

I'm really looking forward to the trip. As soon as we finalize our plans, I'll get with you guys.

Sorry I've been so slow to respond. I'm switching internet providers and don't have ready access right now. We have booked a room at the "night to remember" bed and breakfast right near the falls. Surprisingly good rates to be so close to the falls. We'll likely arive early to mid afternoon. Is there a schedule for the gathering. We would like to attend for at least a little while. And any help with guides would be great. As my wife says, I get lost in my own backyard.
