Bubble wrap doubles as a rain suit too! There's nothing it can't do!

Lol! Not particularly.... -
I polish mine with sealer and glaze. Seems to work for me. Cuts down on the "starbust effect" of headlights at night too.

LOL! Funny thing is: I dropped philosophy as one of my electives in university. Couldn't stomach what seemed like the profs foolishness.....she had us out on the front lawn sitting around a tree one day, trying to relate to it. Though to myself: "Yeah, I'm not paying good money for this!" Never looked back. Right choice for me! -

That's because ebayers aren't (for the most part) motorcycle enthusiasts. They're usually just someone who has gotten a hold of some stuff in surplus, or estates sales, or rejects, or from a shops dumpster or something like that and is looking to turn a quick buck. They know nothing about it except they want whatever everyone else is asking on ebay for similar stuff....or they want stupid money and hope some pigeon will grab it. Ebay: it both sucks and it doesn't all at the same time.... -
Wait wait wait. I've got the solution. No need for a trike or any other such things. You can stay on two wheels and be perfectly safe in one of these: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/qcNYHfELGb4/maxresdefault.jpg It's also a low dollar/affordable fix!

Guys very often don't believe me when I tell them the single biggest change you can make to your bike is tires. I'm looking to put the Michelin's on my 83 next year. I've always been a big fan of Michelin's on everything I own. Usually, they give me excellent wear and grip on whatever I put them on. Can't wait to try their motorcycle tires...

Come to think of it, the one on my FJ12 went "titters" and I just bypassed it.....

Seems even something simple like the rubber tab on my interceptor would be a decent idea. It grabs the pavement first if you forget the side stand and kicks it up...

Anyone have the lifter tool for valve adjustments?
Great White replied to Great White's topic in Watering Hole
Seems there are a couple members who already make them here on the forum. In the interests of not stepping on anyone's toes, I'm going to have to retract my make them at cost offer. I'll just spin up one or two for myself. Couple diagrams surfaced in the search also, so I don't need one as a sample anymore either. Cheers. -
Anyone have the lifter tool for valve adjustments?
Great White replied to Great White's topic in Watering Hole
Got a link? I was thining of heat treating the ones I make to deal with scuffing on the hardened lifter cups. The OEM yammy one looks cast and then machined on the face. Probably induction hardened or similar before it leaves the shop... *Edit* found it: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?84823-Valve-Shim-Tool&highlight=valve+tool -
I'm looking for the tool that compresses the lifters in order to remove/replace the shims. I'm not looking to buy one, the prices seem to be "over the moon" for a simple little piece of steel (70-100 bucks plus shipping!). I would like to know if someone can take some measurements so I can make one in the shop. I've got the lathe and mill attachment. Chuck up a couple end mills in the collet holder and go to town. It's just an afternoon project with some scrap for me. I was thinking if it turns out to be fairly easy to make, I might run off a couple and make them available to the membership at cost. Couple bucks for the scraps and shipping costs. anyone got one and a micrometer?

I'm old, but I don't think I'm that old since I'm not sure what that is!
-
LOL! just tried to reply to your test and it came back box is too full!
-
Ah, that must be it. Gimme a box of parts and a tool box and I can build whatever it is with my eyes closed. IT stuff, well......
-
Ah, that must be it.

Actually, if the guy handed the tattoo artist a picture of an alternator I would hope he does charge him. He did a darned good job.....making an alternator that is. I would believe the guy who wanted the tattoo did hand him a picture of an alternator based on his conversation in the screen grab of the conversation. Kinda like: http://www.driftspec.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/no-ragrets.jpg

Dunno where to go from here: http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r618/justonepict/pm_zps2qaetw2y.jpg unless there's a secret setting somewhere, looks like PM's are on to me. Something wonky on the forum maybe?
-
LOL! Didn't know I had them turned off. Sure. I've got them digital, but I always prefer a paper copy I can hold in my greasy little fingers. Much appreciated. Edit: Just checked, says PM's are turned on?
