  1. Sorry to see your ride posted for sale Larry. Really nice what you've done to the bike. Hope all is well with you and Joyce.
  2. If the view is obstructed at all I always come to a full stop. Obstructed meaning I can't see far enough down the road in either direction to safely go. Thought you had to watch surface conditions for low spots when you park/stop?
  3. Thanks !
  4. Reading that the N-Com can connect to Goldwing/BMW K1200LT/HD Ultra Classic built in audio systems. Can one of them be used with the RSV ? I currently use J&M headsets in both helmets. Nancy would like a flip-up helmet but I'd want to be able to connect it to the RSV.
  5. Coming to a stop, I use both brakes and just before coming to a full stop I use front only and put my feet down. I do pay attention to the road surface (gravel, wet, spills, angle of pavement) before I stop.
  6. Hope he recovers quickly.
  7. Got my tach on Friday and looking at how to install it I tried to bend the mounting bracket that comes with the tach. Word of advice....don't try to bend it. I put it in a vice and tried to bend it by hand. The "metal" snapped. I had a shop make one for me with a slightly longer "tongue". I ended up getting two done even though I only need one...so if anyone needs a bracket, let me know. Forecast is for rain tonight and tomorrow so will install it tomorrow night. Doing maintenance at the same time - oil change, change spark plugs, carb synch (62,000 km in 4 years).
  8. If you go with a non-powered isolator you could end up with an issue where there is "feedback" back thru the 5-to-4 converter. See http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87011&page=3 I ended up getting the Tow Ready (Reese) Modulites, 119148 from a local RV shop (had to order it). It is an 119147 but has extra cable for power and a fuse module. Works great ! Get the harness from M61. Much better than splicing into the wires. I added to the pigtail so I can add additional turn lights (side markers).
  9. Happy birthday !
  10. What mileage are you at? If you don't have a lift adapter and don't have someone to check the sight glass for you, you could do all this with a 2x4 under the side stand.
  11. David - just read your PM. Class act. Dave has asked that the membership he won go to a member in need or to the OPE fund.
  12. Thank you !
  13. At 50 items found... we have a WINNER !!!! The Tooch (David) will receive a one year membership on behalf of me and a guardian bell from Freebird. Congratulations and thanks for playing ! Also had to notice or know : - K&N air filters - these are required with the chrome air intakes - engine guard brace didn't come with engine guard clamps - tires - stock were Bridgestone. Front and back replaced with E3's - air delflectors on fairing were originally clear. I painted mine black to match black of paint on lower part of fairing - air horns below and behind passenger floorboards mounted using Slowrollwv brackets - battery tender - close look in front of left side cover the quick connect cable is visible - BuddyRich cable - with Zumo 660 and smartphone....who wouldn't install the BuddyRich cable? Since taking the pictures and beginning the contest, I've : - added a chrome choke knob cover - added handle bar mounted tach - replaced Stebel horn on right side of bike in original horn location - the chrome was flaking off so put the original OEM horn back on Winter plans : - chrome side covers - stainless steel cables - ....and maybe a few other things !
  14. Congratulations !!!!!
  15. Resolve the issue?
  16. Usually you have to watch out for people turning left in front of you, but there have been a few accidents that have been where oncoming traffic crossed the line and hit a bike.
  17. As mentioned...depends on where the hole is. If you have a lift adapter and a good sized container for water (maybe kid's swimming pool?), lower the wheel into the water and turn the wheel until you see air bubbles. Or... fill with air and rotate until you hear air leaking out....
  18. Glad the operation went well. Hope she recovers quickly.
  19. Someone needs to step up and challenge David ! He is still scouring my pictures and has found two more items. His total is now 49 ! Phil, Don... Bob (?).... anyone ? One year free membership and a VR.org guardian bell are on the line. Contest close is noon (EST) this Friday.
  20. If you were arriving on the 10th I'd be interested in riding down to meet. I'm off work this week and go back to work on the 11th. Bad timing.
  21. Glad you and your son are okay. Bike can be repaired.
  22. Glad you are enjoying your Venture and have it running with only a few adjustments !
  23. I think that is another contest !!!
  24. I think it is the title of the thread that is throwing people. Like come on... NY "mini" Rally ???
  25. Wait until the end of the week and I list all my items. You'll wonder how you missed some of the other things too ! You are only about 12 from being perfect ! Come on guys... if David can find 47.... YOU can too !!!! Just think, free one year membership AND a VR.org guardian bell ! Look at the pictures posted but also the pics on photobucket and zoom in and look closely!
