  1. Sorry...disagree on passing lights only being beneficial at night. I have mine on all the time. During the day it makes you more visible and I believe it has prevented people from turning in front of me.
  2. Is it a sleeve for a wire cable, thick walled tube, or thin walled?
  3. Hard way to learn what you already know. But as mentioned, you can try to slow it down but once you get to a lean point...don't try to stop it.
  4. Congratulations on 25 years ! Enjoy the trip !
  5. Sorry to hear about your friend. Best wishes on recovery.
  6. Check the electrical diagram in the service manual to see if the stator wire should go to the radio. Does the split look original or something a previous owner would have done? I take it the bike is out of warranty?
  7. Nancy really enjoys using the Diamond R passenger highway pegs. Gives her a chance to raise her legs, change her foot position, and shift around if necessary. Recommend them.
  8. Glad you are okay
  9. Sorry to hear about your accident. Bike can be replaced (new 2015 Venture?), you can't be.
  10. Several threads on this but you could replace the side markers - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=86518&page=2
  11. Nice write up on the comparison and your thoughts.
  12. Vent open I get a lot of airflow on my chest or face. I think having the vent is great ! Hot days you can open it up, cold days you can close it.
  13. Glad you reacted quickly and avoided an accident !
  14. Sorry to hear of your loss. Know what it is like to lose a member of the family.
  15. I get the log-in screen. Appears to be okay
  16. I'm always wary lifting my bike. I have Larry's adapter with the stop but my lift has pads that just extend the width of the adapter (think 12"). If you don't make sure that the pads are all the way and square with the stop, you will have problems. As soon as I get my bike high enough I put the legs on the adapter and then I feel safe. I'd feel better if the pads were a couple inches longer and I could have them extend beyond the lift adapter bars and not use the stop. With the way it is now... on the right side of the bike you only have 1" (I think they are 1") bars of the adapter sitting on the front edge of your lift. Angled slightly or movement of the bike/lift and you have less...or nothing...sitting on the lift.
  17. 2nd that. Mine's been groaning first thing in the morning and goes away. No leaks, usually run 25psi in the rear.
  18. No...this isn't a common issue
  19. Thought the GPS called for a 2A fuse. ------- Manual calls for a 3A fast blow fuse for a Zumo 660
  20. I get 48 hours on a charge on my Blackberry Z30 with fairly heavy use. The Z30 also has : - 5" Super AMOLED screen with 1280 x 720 resolution, at 295 ppi 24-bit color depth - Dual Core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960T Pro - 8 megapixel auto-focus camera rear camera - 5-element F2.2 lens, Flash, continuous and touch to focus, image stabilisation, Proprietary Enhanced Super Resolution Digital Zoom (5x), 1080p HD video recording - 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera front camera - Image and video stabilisation, 3x digital zoom, 720p HD video recording - wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz, 4G Mobile Hotspot - NFC .... which Blackberry's have had for several years - Paratek antenna - it "learns" and provides enhanced/boosted carrier signal in low signal areas - micro SD card capability - unlike Apple, I'm not stuck with the capacity of the phone. I can interchange micro-SD cards up to 128GB - USB OTG - using an inexpensive cord, I can connect a usb memory stick, powered usb hub, keyboards, mice..... - micro HDMI - inexpensive cable and connect to my tv. I don't have to buy a proprietary cable - micro USB charging - again, no proprietary cable BB 10 OS has : - Priority Hub to organize messages and social media - learns your individual writing style and adapts to it, making personalized next-word suggestions - ability to run native BB 10 and Android apps directly Anyone comparing Apple 6/6+ to Blackberry, Android, and even Windows smartphones on specs and abilities, wouldn't be going to Apple.
  21. I saw a write up comparing an iPhone 6+ to a 2012 Android phone. Apple is 2yrs behind the competition. Even Blackberry with their BB10 OS is further advanced (and a better phone). I received a brand new iPad Aire and the functionality was similar to a 10yr old iPod that I have. I don't see any improvement in functionality or user friendliness.
  22. How about one of these - http://daymak.com/daymaktechnology/beast.html
  23. I know I can get them from Diamond R...but does anyone have a set of chrome side covers they'd like to sell ?
  24. Line it up, slide the rod thru... done. Make sure when you lift it...that the pads on the lift are all the way against the stop on the left side of the bike. What issue are you having with putting it on the bike?
