  1. Holds 18 cubic feet inside. I'm at work now but can post inside dimensions when I get home this afternoon.
  2. For the most part, I don't believe things will change. Yes, there may be more security in Ottawa, but probably unobtrusive. It won't turn into a fortress. This is Canada. When someone broke into the Prime Minister's house, it didn't become a fortress with walls and armed guards. Even the Governor General's home (Rideau Hall) is open for daily tours. This was probably the act of a lone person. Our condolences to the family of the soldier from Hamilton that was killed today.
  3. Sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. Hope all goes well on Friday !
  4. Would be nice if some attitudes would change but that won't happen with an article. I've seen bikers (normally sport bikes) ride on the shoulder or lane split - both of which are illegal in Ontario. Or riders doing wheelies on the 401 at 130km/hr in traffic. You just can't change those kinds of riders.
  5. Looks good. If classifieds had to be re-entered I doubt anyone would mind. would be a cleanup at the same time. Would be easier for you to apply the same updates to both (even though they are two sites) rather than maintain two different versions.
  6. How is the HD forum set up?
  7. I think most of us would be fine going to the newer version even with a loss of the custom changes. They can be added over time. As long as the data can be restored so all old posts are available...I'd be fine with a maintenance window so the upgrade can be done.
  8. Still... a neat idea. As more companies get into it, price will (should) come down)
  9. Sorry to hear about your friend. Someone probably "missed" writing down that he had hit his head so doctors/nurses didn't know and didn't see it until it was too late.
  10. Per Yamaha Canada site - There are more bikes to come Nov.3rd!
  11. Glad to hear you are improving...sorry to hear about your accident.
  12. They also have : TWITTER Tomorrow will be one of the biggest motorcycle launches we can remember! And that's only phase one of two! Which... and : YOUTUBE Yamaha Motorcycle Teaser [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTkqh-ZRsD0&list=UUDgyTa85EYR4yVaRYds46mw]Yamaha Motorcycle Teaser - YouTube[/ame] I can't access YouTube or Twitter at work so someone else would have to comment on the "teaser"
  13. Sorry you had such a bad experience at a demo ride. From the sounds of it the organizer was late and at least one Victory employee doesn't know anything about sales or customer service. I'm interested to know if you'll receive a reply from corporate. They won't offer you anything if they do respond other than the location of the next demo ride.
  14. Weekend storms....members okay?
  15. I don't see the standard requirement being adhered to here. Don - where are the pics ? (you mentioned Eileen so at least a picture of her is required....and if we have to see it, a picture of you after your 20lb weight loss)
  16. Congratulations !!!!! Don & Nancy
  17. Don - glad you were able to change your diet in such a little time and stick to it. Losing 20lbs probably makes you feel "fitter". Hope you have the vision issue under control.
  18. When I bought my '09 RSV in 2010, it was three months old and and only had 2500km. Pretty much brand new. Original owner must have paid $18,000....I paid $14,000. Before buying, I test rode the Gold Wing, the Electra Classic....and to me the RSV was the right fit, and looks the way a bike should look. Seating position, rider/passenger comfort was all there. Over the last four years I've spend approx $6,500 in accessories and "upgrades" to make it mine. Most parts are OEM but others are from Carbon One, SlowRollWV. OEM accessories are hard to find now. Would I buy a new 2012/2013 RSV ? YES (if my RSV were totaled or stolen) : - 5 year warranty - $14,000 is a great deal - still the most comfortable (for me) and reliable touring bike out there - still has the configuration I wanted in a touring bike 4 years ago (v4, shaft drive, liquid cooled) NO : - lack of OEM accessories - potential 2015 Venture - depending on price and configuration (better have v4, shaft drive) With other touring bikes : - Victory - don't like the V lines of the bikes - HD - don't measure up to the RSV, hate the shaking, not as comfortable, not shaft drive - Gold Wing - not a comfortable riding position for me, doesn't have the "look" of what I see as a bike I'm not in a position to "upgrade" to a 2015 Venture. My RSV has 68,000km and still has many more miles in it. Potentially might be the last bike I own and might ride it as long as I ride. If I come into money and the new Venture has what I see as necessities in a touring bike (v4, liquid cooled, shaft drive, riding position, passenger comfort) then I might consider an updated Venture. If I continue to average 14,000km per year, when I retire in 10 years at age 65 the RSSV will have 200,000km on it. Will still have lots of retirement miles in it.
  19. Keep your head down !
  20. Glad you were able to walk away. Hope you weren't hurt. Sorry to hear about your bike. As mentioned, once you are a member, you don't have to check-out.
  21. Thanks for the info. Don't need repairs...but good reference to keep
  22. I have the Rivco flasher. Flashes for 5 seconds then solid. http://rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=25
  23. Get Larry's (Carbon One) lift adapter with legs. I store my bike on the stand. Gets the bike off the ground and easy to do winter maintenance/upgrades. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3729&title=carbon-one-freestanding-lift-adapter&cat=24
  24. I met bmiller for the first time when we went to Edmonton this summer. Great guy and much blinged out bike !
  25. I have what I think is a lot on my bike...I'd have to break it down into categories for best upgrade: Front lighting - passing lights with GE H7616 bulbs. Brightest bulbs I've seen Rear lighting - Custom Dynamics run/turn/brake lights followed closely by the Rivco under trunk brake light with Rivco flasher (5 second flash, then solid) Driver - Zumo 660 with BuddyRich cable Passenger - Carbon One arm rests followed by DiamondR passenger highway pegs Chrome - Dare I say ANY chrome is a good addition? If I had to pick one...it would be the Carb and twinkie covers (okay...two things but both from SlowRollWV). Finishes off the look of the engine area Biggest visual impact change to stock bike - trunk wing. Without the OEM trunk wing the trunk doesn't look as finished. Add the trunk rack...and it looks complete
