  1. Hope you don't expect replies from the guys on this site. Most of us are still looking at our thumbs !
  2. Depends on the prep work required. For the plastic piece that goes between the battery side covers (8"x8.5") the price thru email is $60-$90 for the one piece. The base coat, chrome, and top coat are sprayed on. Doing multiple pieces, I would guess they could be sprayed at the same time, with the main variable being the prep work. I'm going to give the shop the piece tomorrow. They say they are backed up about 4 weeks but at least mine will be done before riding season starts.
  3. Yamaha Motor Philippines
  4. Freebird....is it possible to add this function to profile settings?
  5. I know that DiamondR sells chrome battery side covers ($140 US) but when you add the exchange rate (about 20%), and shipping.... I got them chromed at a local shop for $200 CDN (cash, no tax). Worked out about the same cost. The reason I asked about chroming plastic is because in planning to do the side covers, I wanted the plastic piece that goes between the side covers (in front of the battery box) chromed as well. I am going to take it in this week to get it done (approx cost $70). I'll post the results once I get them back. Pics attached of the chromed side covers, and what it looks like with the battery box cover in black. I'll post pics when I get the plastic back.
  6. The process looks good when you see the videos. I'm going to talk with the two places that are relatively local over the next week and will decide which one to try.
  7. Hope the treatments work !
  8. My condolences to you and your friends family.
  9. Thanks Brian ! I watched the videos...pretty cool !
  10. Ideally the chrome on plastic matches the other chrome that I'm having done. Pics to follow once I get stuff done.
  11. Lift adapter mounts to the bottom of the bike so that when you use a lift, it clears the exhaust and anything else. Get the lift from Larry (CarbonOne) with legs so you can store the bike raised during the winter.
  12. Second that. Makes it very comfortable for the passenger
  13. Jealous. We should ban anyone that posts pictures of themselves riding while the rest of us are snow bound. :-(
  14. Does the model in the picture come with the chrome? :-)
  15. Message SlowRollWV... he makes a lot of stuff for the Venture - carb covers, fork wind deflectors, twinkie cover, horn mounts, clutch bleeder cover..... CarbonOne makes a horn mount, engine guard braces, lift adapter..
  16. Anyone else?
  17. Happy birthday Larry !
  18. Looking at getting a part (black abs) chromed. I know this question came up in 2008 but times and processes have changed. Anyone know of a process or company (hopefully in Ontario) that chromes plastic? I've been recommended to two companies : Chromatics Chroming - We Chrome Everything (Stoney Creek) EZChrome Solutions Inc. (Otterville) Anyone with experience with either of these companies or knows the chroming process for ABS ?
  19. Or a meet n greet for local members who need a support group?
  20. Too much salt and sand on the roads. I wait until we have a couple heavy rains before getting the bike out. At least every day is one day closer to spring !
  21. Neat ! Congratulations to your grandson.
  22. Thanks !
  23. Middle of January, 0 degrees C and snowing (feels like -5 C)...and I'm at the point where I could use a ride on the bike. :-(
  24. Sounds like you need a computer guy to help you. Know anyone? LOL
  25. When we did our trip out to Wyoming/Saskatchewan in 2013, I posted our route on here and had the great fortune to meet some members who offered accommodation or meet for coffee. Like most members, at the very least, I would offer to meet for a coffee, a place to sleep for the night, or help with their bike if necessary.
